For an OBS-based live production, start with Elgato’s free OBS Studio plugin: it puts scene, source, recording, and audio controls on Stream Deck keys, with real-time feedback. Add the Twitch plugin for channel actions; choose Discord, Spotify, or lighting integrations only if those services or devices are already part of your setup.

Which plugin controls OBS scenes?
The Elgato OBS Studio plugin is the most direct choice for controlling an OBS production from Stream Deck. Its supported controls cover scenes, sources, recording, and audio, and its keys can provide real-time feedback. It is a control surface for OBS—not a replacement for OBS itself or a guarantee that a scene, source, or recording is configured correctly.
Elgato’s current plugin page lists Stream Deck app 6.9 or newer, Windows 11 or newer, and macOS 13 or newer. Those requirements apply to this plugin; do not assume they are the requirements for every Marketplace plugin.
Can Stream Deck control Twitch chat and clips?
Yes. Elgato’s Twitch plugin supports channel actions separate from OBS production controls. Elgato Support lists actions for chat messages and modes, ads, stream title and category, markers, clips, Shield Mode, and the Twitch dashboard. Elgato’s Twitch explainer, last updated February 4, 2026, describes it as button-based control that lets you manage the channel without leaving your setup. Action availability can change, so verify the current Marketplace listing.

- Open Stream Deck preferences and connect your Twitch account.
- Add the Twitch actions you need to keys in the Stream Deck app.
- Check each action’s current settings and test it before relying on it during a live broadcast.
How to choose and install a plugin
- Start with the task. Choose OBS for production controls, Twitch for channel management, or an auxiliary integration for an app or device you already use.
- Find the current listing. Browse the Elgato Marketplace and check the plugin’s supported operating system, app requirements, account dependencies, and supported devices.
- Check the setup prerequisites. Elgato’s installation guide describes a Marketplace account requirement for its Marketplace workflow. Twitch actions need a connected Twitch account; Spotify Integration is listed as requiring Spotify Premium.
- Filter for your Stream Deck hardware. Elgato says Marketplace can filter listings by operating system, plugin type, and dial support, and sort by popularity, recency, or alphabetically.
- Install and configure the plugin. Follow the current listing’s installation instructions, then add actions in the Stream Deck app and test them before going live.
Elgato’s general plugin installation guide describes Stream Deck app version 6.4 or newer, while the OBS Studio plugin’s page specifies version 6.9 or newer. Follow the stricter requirement for OBS rather than treating the general guide as overriding a plugin-specific requirement. Requirements for other plugins may differ.
What about OBS scene collections?
Marketplace Connect for OBS is a scene-collection workflow, not an individual Stream Deck plugin pick. Elgato describes signing in to Marketplace, selecting a scene collection, installing its assets, and then loading it in OBS. Consider it when you want a bundled OBS setup rather than just button controls.

Why use Marketplace rather than the old Store?
Elgato says the Stream Deck Store closed in April 2024 and was replaced by Elgato Marketplace. Use Marketplace for current plugin listings and verify compatibility there before installation. The catalog and plugin requirements can change.
