Yes. You can run a continuous YouTube channel using prerecorded Malayalam stories by sending a scheduled or ongoing encoder stream to YouTube Live. The key is to treat it as three separate jobs: build a reliable playout workflow, secure rights for everything viewers hear and see, and make each episode meaningfully original. Plan around YouTube’s archive limit: a stream shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, but a longer one may not be captured at all. A 24-hour broadcast should not be your only copy of the stories.
Plan the channel before you go live
Decide whether viewers will see a continuous feed or a sequence of scheduled live sessions. A continuous feed can keep the channel available, while shorter sessions make individual broadcasts easier to manage and archive. Neither format guarantees audience growth or YouTube Partner Program acceptance.
Choose material you can keep showing
Prepare a library of stories you have the right to use and a playout order that gives the stream a coherent listening experience. Consider how narration, transitions, music, artwork, and episode descriptions will work together. If you want recurring themes or a familiar presentation, vary the substance of the stories and the creative contribution from episode to episode.
Plan for archives separately
YouTube Help’s “Archive live streams” guidance says that a stream shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived; a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. If you want a dependable archive of each story or session, keep the original episode files and consider scheduling shorter live sessions rather than relying on a single all-day broadcast.

Set up the YouTube encoder stream
- Check channel access. Verify the channel and confirm that it has no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. YouTube lists both as requirements for live streaming. If the channel is restricted, resolve that before building a continuous schedule.
- Create or schedule the stream. In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule an encoder stream. Scheduling gives you a watch page to share before the broadcast begins.
- Connect the encoder. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for the event into the encoder’s streaming destination fields. Treat the key like a password: it authorizes the encoder to send a feed to your channel, so do not publish it or share it with people who should not control the stream.
- Build and test the playout. Select an encoder workflow that can play the prerecorded files in the order you intend. YouTube’s encoder guides explain how to send a live feed, but do not prescribe one particular software loop, automated playlist system, or method for chaining video files. Test your chosen setup end to end before relying on it for a continuous channel.
- Preview before going live. Check that the incoming feed is accessible and that the picture and sound are usable. Listen for narration that is too quiet, clipping, silence between files, abrupt transitions, or audio that does not match the video. Confirm that any local recording is being created and that its file continues to grow.
- Start the broadcast and monitor it. Watch the Live Control Room and the actual viewer-facing playback rather than assuming that a successful encoder connection means the whole program is working. Check the feed at file changes and during longer runs, and have a way to stop or restart a faulty session.
Settings: use the current requirements for your encoder
The available YouTube guidance for this workflow does not establish one universal bitrate, resolution, frame rate, or keyframe interval for every story channel and encoder. Do not guess at numeric values from a generic recipe. Use the current encoder settings and recommendations presented for your YouTube stream and software, then test the complete feed—including the audio—before scheduling regular broadcasts. A professional hardware encoder is an option for higher-production-value events, not a prerequisite; YouTube says expensive equipment is not necessary.
Choose a stream schedule that fits your archive needs

Keep the stories original and rights-cleared
Originality is a monetization issue as well as a creative one
YouTube’s monetization policy applies to live streams as well as long-form uploads. On July 15, 2025, YouTube announced that it was renaming “repetitious content” to “inauthentic content” to clarify that repetitive or mass-produced material is ineligible under the existing policy. A recurring series can still have a consistent format, but the substance should materially vary. Distinct stories, narration, sound design, and episode-level value are safer foundations than presenting an unchanged loop as a run of new episodes. Repeated elements alone do not automatically mean a channel will be rejected; YouTube reviews the channel under its policies.
Permission does not automatically settle reused-content review
Reused content is a separate monetization question from copyright. YouTube says reused material needs significant original commentary, substantive modification, or educational or entertainment value. Permission to use someone else’s material does not, by itself, ensure that it will pass monetization review. If you adapt a published story, traditional tale, or other third-party work, document the rights and make your own creative contribution clear.

Clear every element for live and archived use
YouTube’s livestream terms require the creator to have the rights necessary to exploit the live content on Google services worldwide, expressly including music licensing rights. The terms apply to live content and archived content. Check rights for the story text or adaptation, translation, narrator’s performance, sound recording, background music, artwork, and other third-party material. Keep licenses, agreements, and attribution records where applicable.
The Government of India’s Copyright Office hosts the Copyright Act, 1957. That fact alone does not establish whether a particular Malayalam story is protected, whether a particular translation has separate protection, or whether a proposed use falls within an exception. Verify each work and seek qualified Indian legal advice if the rights position is uncertain, especially before a commercial use.

What to expect from YouTube monetization
A 24/7 format does not itself qualify a channel for monetization or promise a particular income. YouTube Partner Program participation depends on policy compliance, availability in the creator’s country or region, and YouTube review. Individual features have their own eligibility rules. Depending on eligibility, YouTube lists possible features including advertising, Premium revenue, memberships, Super Chat and Super Stickers, Super Thanks, and shopping. Live Watch Page advertising and Premium revenue also requires acceptance of the Watch Page Monetization Module.
Build the channel so each episode stands on its own creatively and so the rights file is ready for review. Do not base a business plan on an assumed YPP acceptance, a particular feature being available, or a revenue estimate.

Keep an independent recording and troubleshoot the feed
YouTube recommends checking stream accessibility and monitoring audio and video quality. For a story channel, also preserve the master files locally and verify that any recording you make remains usable. A live archive and a local copy serve different purposes; neither should be assumed to replace the other.
