To loop a recorded handicraft demonstration on YouTube Live, send it through an encoder such as OBS: create a YouTube live event, add the video as an OBS Media Source, enable Loop, then start the encoder and the event. The video can repeat, but that alone does not make a broadcast indefinite or guarantee it will stay connected. You must keep the encoder running and monitor the stream—or use a cloud service designed to keep uploaded video streaming.
Before you start: check channel access and rights
Confirm live-stream eligibility
Your channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time live-stream activation can take up to 24 hours, so enable it well before your planned broadcast. See YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance and encoder setup instructions.
Clear every part of the recording
Use footage and audio you own or have permission to use, including background music, voiceovers, and any third-party clips. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. A match can lead to a warning, replacement of the stream with a placeholder, interruption, or termination. Even if you have a license, the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist for the live stream to avoid interruption. Review YouTube’s copyright guidance for live streams and the YouTube Terms of Service.
YouTube’s live-stream terms require the provider to represent that it has the necessary rights to use live content on Google services, including music rights, and to follow applicable laws and platform rules. Check your own license terms; this is not a determination of what rights a particular Indian business or recording needs.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Set up a repeating demo with OBS and YouTube
- Create or schedule the event: In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream. Copy the stream URL and stream key shown for that event.
- Protect the stream key: In OBS, open Settings > Stream, select YouTube if offered, and enter the key and server details required by the setup. Treat the key like a password: do not publish or share it. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio’s live-stream settings. YouTube documents encoder setup and stream-key management at Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder and Manage live stream settings.
- Add one video: In OBS, select a scene, use the Sources panel’s + button, choose Media Source, create a source, and select the local demo file. Enable Loop in the source properties. OBS lists supported local formats including MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF, and WebM; see OBS Media Sources.
- Arrange several demos: Add a VLC Video Source, select the clips in the desired order, and enable Loop Playlist. OBS requires VLC to be installed for this source type to appear. Use a playlist when you want viewers to see a sequence rather than the same demo repeated.
- Check the scene: Preview the frame and listen to the audio in OBS. For close-up craft work, make sure the hands, tools, materials, and finished detail remain visible at the intended viewing size. This is production advice, not a specific YouTube encoding requirement.
- Connect and preview: Start streaming from OBS and wait for the feed to appear in YouTube Live Control Room. Inspect the preview before starting the event, then check that the live page is reachable from the channel or watch page and on a phone. YouTube recommends preparing the encoder ahead of time and monitoring audio and video quality; see YouTube streaming tips.
- Keep the broadcast operating: For the OBS method, the computer, OBS, video source, and network connection must remain active for the planned session. Have someone check for stalled playback, lost connection, or muted audio. Monitoring is a sensible safeguard, not a guarantee of uninterrupted service.
Choose the right loop arrangement
| Arrangement | Best for | What to configure | Dependency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Media Source | Repeating one recorded demo | Select the local video and enable Loop. | A local file and an OBS computer kept running. |
| VLC Video Source | Rotating through multiple demos | Add the clips in order and enable Loop Playlist. | VLC must be installed; the computer and OBS must stay active. |
Settings and limits to understand
Do not guess at bitrate or resolution
The official guidance cited here does not establish a recommended bitrate, resolution, keyframe interval, upload bandwidth, or computer specification for this particular handicraft workflow. Use YouTube’s current encoder guidance and your encoder’s available settings rather than treating an unsupported number as a requirement. Test the actual recording and connection before relying on a long session.
Check event controls when reusing settings
YouTube’s live settings include options to reuse settings, enable DVR, and control auto-start and auto-stop. Check the selected values each time you reuse an event configuration. DVR lets viewers pause or rewind while the live broadcast continues; auto-start and auto-stop affect how the event begins and ends. The exact choices available can depend on the stream setup; consult Manage live stream settings.

A loop is not an endless live event
OBS repeating a file controls playback, not the duration or reliability of the YouTube event. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That archive statement does not establish that a single event can run indefinitely, nor does it promise uninterrupted broadcasting beyond that threshold. See YouTube’s encoder instructions.
Common problems and fixes
- The channel cannot go live: Check verification and any live-stream restriction, then allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation.
- YouTube receives no video: Confirm OBS is streaming, the correct event’s stream key and URL are configured, and the intended scene is active. If the key may have been exposed, reset it in Studio and update OBS.
- The video plays once and stops: Open the Media Source properties and enable Loop. For multiple clips, confirm that you used a VLC Video Source and enabled Loop Playlist.
- The VLC source is unavailable: Install VLC, then reopen or refresh OBS so the source type can be detected.
- The live feed is interrupted or replaced: Check for third-party matches in footage or audio and verify that any license covers live use and that the rights holder has allowlisted the channel where required.
- The stream appears live but has poor or missing audio/video: Inspect the Live Control Room preview, OBS scene, source playback, audio levels, and connection. YouTube recommends monitoring quality; no cited source guarantees a particular network or machine will remain stable.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is #1 for keeping a prerecorded YouTube Live stream running: upload your video, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; it loops from the cloud, so nothing has to stay on at home. The stream plays your uploaded recording rather than going live from a camera. It accepts video as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot regardless of quality, and can automatically recover if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card; the Monthly price is $9.99 per month. StreamNeo streams to YouTube only. Visit StreamNeo for details, or start your free first day.
