Scheduling creates an event for later; it does not start the broadcast. At the planned time, open the event, choose Enter Studio, and press Go Live when you are ready.
Schedule the event in Talk Studio
- Open Schedule from Talk Studio, or use the keyboard shortcut Shift+J.
- Select + Schedule.
- Choose the destination or destinations where you want to stream. Check that the accounts are connected and that you have selected the right channels.
- Choose Live-stream for a live broadcast, or Pre-recorded video if you want Talk Studio to broadcast a video file.
- Enter the stream title, description, scheduled date and time, and thumbnail. Check the time zone and details before saving.
- Confirm that Talk Studio displays a success notification. Depending on the destinations, it may provide guest invitation links and shareable promotion links.
Streamlabs’ scheduling guide, last updated April 25, 2025, says events can be scheduled up to 50 days ahead. Treat this as the limit in that published guidance; platform features and limits may change. Streamlabs’ Talk Studio scheduling guide
Promote the event and check its link
Event links depend on the destination. Streamlabs’ guide says Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn create event links; Twitter and Twitch are channel-based and do not create advance event links. Custom RTMP destinations are not supported for scheduling. Do not assume every destination will give viewers a separate event page.
For Facebook, creating the scheduled stream may not put it on your main feed automatically. Open the Facebook Event and choose Share > Share to Feed to promote it there. If scheduling to Facebook fails, Streamlabs recommends checking Facebook Business Integrations permissions for the Talk Studio (Streaming) app. See Streamlabs’ Facebook scheduling instructions.

Know the scheduling limits before the event
- Keep destinations connected: Streamlabs says not to remove destinations after scheduling.
- Start near the scheduled time: its guide says to start within 15 minutes of the scheduled time. The Facebook-specific guide says to start within 15 minutes before the original scheduled time; follow the destination’s event timing and check the current Talk Studio guidance.
- Recreate a missed event: if the scheduled date and time have passed, Streamlabs says the event cannot be started. Delete it and create a new schedule.
- Facebook destination cap: Streamlabs’ 2025 guidance limits one scheduled stream to at most 10 Facebook destinations.
- LinkedIn limit: the scheduling guide says LinkedIn allows at most 10 streams in a 24-hour window.
These are operational limits published by Streamlabs, not guarantees that destination platforms will retain the same rules indefinitely. Check the current support pages if you are scheduling close to a limit.
Enter the studio and start the broadcast
- At the planned time, open Schedule and find the event.
- Choose Enter Studio. If guests are joining, enter the studio before inviting them.
- Check your microphone, camera, presentation or video, and guest audio before starting. If you are not ready to broadcast, use Schedule again to leave the studio rather than pressing the live control.
- When you are ready, select Go Live or press Shift+Enter.
Scheduling gives you a planned event and time to share it, but the broadcast begins only when you enter the studio and start it.

Prepare your browser, connection, and media
Talk Studio runs in a browser. Streamlabs’ getting-started guide, last updated October 1, 2025, recommends Chrome or Safari, a stable internet connection (preferably Ethernet), and at least 5 Mbps upload speed. Its speed guidance is:

These are Streamlabs’ published requirements and recommendations, not a guarantee of performance on every network. Other devices and uploads sharing your connection can affect the available bandwidth. For a talk or documentary discussion, test the microphone and camera in the studio before going live; buying a separate microphone is optional, not a requirement for scheduling.

For a pre-recorded video, Streamlabs’ scheduling guide states a maximum file size of 5 GB and maximum duration of one hour on Standard or two hours on Pro/Ultra. These limits are plan-specific published guidance from the article last updated April 25, 2025, and may change with Talk Studio plans.

The schedule does not save
- Check that the destination account is connected and still authorized.
- For Facebook, review Business Integrations permissions for the Talk Studio (Streaming) app, as Streamlabs recommends.
- Check destination limits, including Facebook’s 10-destination cap and LinkedIn’s stated 10-stream limit per 24 hours.
The event time has already passed
According to Streamlabs, a scheduled stream cannot be started after its scheduled date and time. Delete the missed event and make a new one for a future time.

The scheduled event is missing or viewers cannot find it
Check the chosen destination and its link behavior. Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn are listed as creating event links in Streamlabs’ guide; Twitter and Twitch are channel-based and do not create advance event links there. For Facebook, open the event and share it to the feed if you want it visible there.
The broadcast has not started
Confirm that you selected Enter Studio for the scheduled event and then pressed Go Live. The schedule itself does not start the stream. If the original scheduled time has passed, create a new event rather than trying to start the old one.

Guests are not ready when you enter
Enter the studio before inviting guests, then give them time to join and check their audio before selecting Go Live.
