To set up a Loupedeck Live S, install Loupedeck software, connect the console by USB, then configure the plugin for OBS Studio, Streamlabs Desktop, or Twitch. The exact compatibility instructions depend on software version: Loupedeck’s dedicated OBS guide covers older releases, while its current download page lists version 6.4.1. Logitech stopped selling the Loupedeck product line on March 28, 2025; remaining units may be available through authorized retailers while supplies last.
Before you connect the Live S
Check your computer and software
The current Loupedeck download page lists software 6.4.1 for Windows 10 or later and macOS 10.15 or later. The Live S system-requirements article gives a different minimum for macOS—10.14 or later—so use the current download page’s 10.15 requirement when deciding whether a new installation is supported. Know what is in the box
The manufacturer lists the Live S as a wired control surface supplied with a 2 m USB-C-to-USB-C cable, a USB-C-to-A adapter, and a detachable stand. Its listed dimensions are 150 × 85.5 × 30 mm and its listed weight is 168 g. These are manufacturer specifications. Loupedeck Live S product page
Install the software and connect the console
- Download Loupedeck software: use the official downloads page and choose the installer for your operating system.
- Install and open it: on Windows, open Loupedeck Setup from the taskbar icon or Start menu after installation. On macOS, open the app from Applications or the menu bar.
- Allow macOS accessibility access: if the console’s controls do not affect a target application, check that Loupedeck is enabled under System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Accessibility. The setting name or location may differ across macOS versions. Loupedeck macOS setup guide
- Connect Live S by USB: use the included USB-C cable, or the included USB-C-to-A adapter if your computer has USB-A ports. The console is a wired device.
Set up Loupedeck Live S with OBS Studio
Choose the version pairing carefully
Loupedeck’s dedicated OBS guide specifies OBS Studio 28.0 or newer with Loupedeck software 5.3, and OBS Studio 27 or earlier with Loupedeck 5.2. Those pairings are from that guide, not a guaranteed compatibility matrix for every later build. The current download page lists Loupedeck 6.4.1, so if you are using the current release and the older instructions do not match what you see, consult current plugin guidance or release notes rather than assuming the old pairing applies. Assign OBS actions
- Open OBS Studio and Loupedeck Setup.
- In Loupedeck Setup, find the OBS actions in the action panel.
- Drag the action you want onto a Live S button or dial. Configure the action if prompted; some actions require additional settings.
- Scenes you create through the guide’s workflow are stored in “Stored OBS Studio Actions.”
Fix a red OBS status dot or missing scenes
- Red dot on the OBS icon: the plugin is not connected. Start OBS. If OBS is already open and the dot remains, restart Loupedeck software.
- Scenes or sources do not appear: in OBS, open Tools > WebSockets Server Settings. The Loupedeck support article instructs users to make sure Authentication is unchecked, then uncheck and recheck Enable WebSockets server and click OK. If your OBS version presents different labels, consult its current documentation.
- Windows privilege mismatch: run OBS and Loupedeck at the same privilege level—both as administrator or both as a standard user. Do not run one elevated and the other not.
Set up Loupedeck Live S with Streamlabs Desktop
Assign scenes and sources
- Update Streamlabs Desktop and Loupedeck software before setup, as the Loupedeck guide recommends.
- Open Streamlabs Desktop. With the plugin introduced in Loupedeck 5.8, scenes and sources appear in dynamic folders in Loupedeck’s action panel while Streamlabs is running.
- Drag the scene or source action you want onto a Live S button or dial. Newly created scenes or sources may take a short time to appear in the folders.
Fix a disconnected plugin
A yellow dot on the Streamlabs icon indicates that the plugin is not connected; open Streamlabs Desktop. With older plugin versions (Loupedeck 5.7 or earlier), the indicator may be red instead. If Loupedeck says it could not connect, close other streaming apps first: Loupedeck says OBS Studio and Streamlabs Desktop cannot both run simultaneously with it because they use the same process underneath. Its suggested recovery is to close the streaming apps and Loupedeck, stop Loupedeck from the system tray, then open Streamlabs Desktop followed by Loupedeck. Connect Twitch to Loupedeck
- Sign in to both a Twitch account and a Loupedeck account.
- In the Loupedeck action panel, open “Hide and Show Plugins” and enable the Twitch plugin.
- Open the Twitch plugin’s action tab and authenticate through the browser flow.
If Twitch will not connect, Loupedeck’s troubleshooting steps are to remove the Twitch account from Loupedeck general settings and the streaming profile, log out of both Loupedeck Setup and the Twitch website, then sign in again and reconnect Twitch through Manage Plugins or account settings. The support article reports that this flow may show a 127.0.0.1 error page and says the company was working to improve the behavior; that message alone does not establish that every authentication attempt succeeded. Is Loupedeck Live S still sold and supported?
Logitech announced on March 28, 2025 that it had stopped selling the Loupedeck product line and would focus future development on the Logitech MX Creative Console and its ecosystem. The announcement said remaining inventory would be available through authorized retailers while supplies lasted, and that warranty claims and technical support would continue as usual. It also said software release 6.0’s shared backend would let Loupedeck owners use future software updates and plugins developed for Creative Console. That is Logitech’s stated plan; it does not establish that every future MX plugin will work with Live S or that support is guaranteed indefinitely. Logitech’s March 28, 2025 update
If you are buying one now, check the listing’s condition, seller, included cable, adapter and stand, return policy, and warranty eligibility. A retailer’s current listing is not evidence that direct manufacturer sales have resumed. Logitech names the MX Creative Console as its future development focus, but the announcement does not establish that it has identical streamer controls or is a one-to-one Live S replacement.
