Choose Dacast if your church needs to stream a live service, simulcast it to YouTube, and host a branded sermon archive. Choose Gyre if you want prerecorded sermons to loop continuously on YouTube. They solve different problems: a replay loop is not a live Sunday service.
How the two services differ
| Decision | Dacast | Gyre |
|---|---|---|
| Primary workflow | Managed live streaming and on-demand sermon hosting; can simulcast a live encoder feed to YouTube. | Upload prerecorded videos, arrange a playlist, schedule a broadcast, and loop it continuously. |
| Source and production | An encoder sends the camera feed. Dacast names OBS, Wirecast, and vMix as compatible options. | Uploaded recordings supply the content; this is not a live-camera production workflow. |
| Viewer destination | A Dacast-branded player and YouTube or other configured destinations. | Continuous streams to YouTube and other platforms it supports. |
| Archive and presentation | Dacast describes sermon recording and on-demand playback, a branded player, security options, analytics, and donation or paywall options. | Playlist-based continuous playback; its product page describes uploads and storage. |
| Limits to check | Multistreaming hours vary by plan. Dacast’s page states allowances from five hours on Starter to 40 hours on Custom; confirm current terms before relying on those figures. | Plan tiers vary in stream count, storage, video quality, playlists, and scheduling. Check the current plan details. |
Dacast describes a managed streaming platform that receives an encoder feed and can deliver and archive it; Gyre describes cloud automation for prerecorded video. See Dacast’s church streaming overview, Dacast’s multistreaming details, and Gyre’s product information.
Which workflow fits your church?
Choose Dacast for a live service and managed sermon library
If a pastor, worship team, or camera operator will be producing a real-time service, Dacast’s described workflow is the closer match. Configure a channel, send the encoder output, and, if YouTube is among your destinations, set up simulcasting. Dacast also describes recording services for later sermon playback through its player. Its church page promotes branded playback and security features; assess those against your church’s audience and access needs rather than assuming every setting is enabled by default.
Dacast’s multistreaming page says its destinations include YouTube and custom RTMP endpoints, and names OBS, Wirecast, and vMix as compatible encoders. The workflow can support a church site and public YouTube presence together, but the number of included multistreaming hours depends on the plan. Check your expected weekly schedule against the current allowance.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose Gyre for continuous replay of existing recordings
If your aim is to keep a YouTube channel active with recorded sermons or services, Gyre’s documented process is more directly aligned: upload recordings, assemble a playlist, connect the YouTube account, schedule the stream, and let the playlist loop. Gyre says the stream runs in its cloud, so the user’s laptop need not stay on; treat that and other operational assurances as vendor claims, not independently verified guarantees.
A loop can make archived material available outside service hours, but it does not replace producing a live worship service. Decide whether the congregation needs real-time participation, an archive organized by sermon, or a continuous replay channel before choosing.

Compare access, branding, archives, and rights
- Where viewers watch: Dacast describes a branded player alongside YouTube distribution. Gyre emphasizes automated channel streaming. Decide whether your church website, YouTube, or both should be the primary destination.
- Who can watch: Dacast promotes security and privacy options, but the exact controls depend on configuration and plan. Review the current settings if services should not be public.
- Finding past sermons: Dacast describes a sermon library and on-demand playback. Gyre’s continuous playlist is designed for looping; confirm whether its current tools meet your archive organization needs.
- Music and other rights: Neither service grants permission to stream copyrighted worship music. Confirm rights for the songs, recordings, and other material in each service, in the relevant territories, and under current platform and licensing terms. Dacast’s guide discusses CCLI and YouTube Content ID, but a platform choice does not settle a church’s permissions.
Dacast’s church page also promotes ad-free playback, analytics, and donation or paywall options. These are vendor-described capabilities; confirm the availability and terms for the plan you would use. Its page includes a case study featuring St. Mary & St. Antonios Coptic Orthodox Church, which is a vendor-published example rather than independent performance verification.
Compare plan limits and current costs carefully
Do not compare headline prices until you have matched the services to the same job. A live production platform with a player and archive is not equivalent to a service that loops uploaded recordings. Account for expected live hours, number of simultaneous streams, storage for your recording library, output quality, destinations, and whether your church needs a branded player or access controls.

A Dacast-authored guide dated April 29, 2026 listed Starter at $39/month and Scale at $165/month. Those are vendor-published, time-sensitive figures, not an independent price comparison; verify current pricing and plan terms in Dacast’s church streaming guide. Dacast’s multistreaming page separately describes plan-specific hour allowances, so verify the current limit for your intended schedule.
Gyre’s official product page displayed a seven-day trial when accessed October 3, 2026. It showed Start, Start+, and PRO+ tiers with one, four, or eight simultaneous HD streams, with separate 4K allowances on some tiers; displayed storage was 35 GB, 75 GB, and 150 GB respectively. Playlist and scheduling availability differed by tier, and the displayed trial had a Gyre watermark while paid plans did not.
