Yes. AWS Elemental MediaLive can loop a single MP4 or TS file stored in Amazon S3 and deliver the resulting stream to YouTube over RTMP. To rotate through multiple files, configure them as dynamic inputs and use a MediaLive channel schedule to switch between them; AWS documents scheduled switching, but the cited documentation does not establish that a multi-file schedule repeats forever automatically.
What MediaLive can do
- Repeat one file: MediaLive supports S3-backed MP4 and TS file inputs. Its API describes the file end behavior as “Loop input if it is a file. This allows a file input to be streamed indefinitely.” AWS MediaLive API Reference
- Send output to YouTube: MediaLive supports RTMP output, and AWS lists YouTube as a destination in its workflow wizard. YouTube’s current ingest details must be obtained from YouTube Studio; the AWS documentation cited here does not supply a current ingest URL or stream key. AWS output formats and downstream systems · About the MediaLive workflow wizard
- Switch among files: MediaLive can use S3 MP4 or TS files as dynamic inputs and switch between them through a channel schedule. That is not the same as an automatically repeating playlist; the cited page establishes switching, not endless playlist cycling. AWS: Setting up dynamic inputs
AWS identifies these S3 files as video-on-demand (VOD) sources rather than live sources. MediaLive is therefore processing file content for a live output, not turning an S3 object into a live camera feed. AWS: Support for live and file sources
Set up a single S3 file to loop to YouTube
The supported workflow is to create a file input, configure its end behavior to loop, and send the channel output to YouTube using RTMP. The cited AWS pages establish those capabilities, but not the exact current console screens or YouTube account eligibility requirements. Check the current YouTube live workflow and ingest values in YouTube Studio rather than relying on an endpoint or key copied from an old guide.
- Prepare the source object. Use a supported MP4 or TS file in S3. For MP4, AWS documents the URI form as
s3ssl://<bucket>/<path>/<filename>.mp4. MediaLive bucket names cannot use dot notation. See AWS input types and supported formats and AWS: Obtain information for an MP4 input. - Create a MediaLive file input. Configure the input to reference the S3 object. AWS documents MP4 files accessed through its secure custom protocol, as well as S3 TS inputs with
.tsor.m2tsextensions. The source must be a file input, not a live input. Supported input types and protocols - Set the file end behavior to loop. Configure the input’s source-end behavior for looping. AWS’s API description says this allows a file input to be streamed indefinitely. MediaLive Channels API
- Configure the channel output for RTMP. Use MediaLive’s RTMP output path and the current destination information provided by YouTube Studio. AWS documents RTMP output and identifies YouTube in the workflow wizard, but the sources cited here do not establish the present-day YouTube ingest URL, stream-key handling steps, or exact wizard sequence. AWS RTMP output support · AWS workflow wizard
- Start the channel and confirm the YouTube stream. Confirm the destination and live status in YouTube Studio using the current instructions shown for your account. The AWS sources establish the compatible delivery capabilities, not YouTube’s current account-specific setup or live-stream rules.
Use scheduled switching for multiple S3 files
If “loop videos” means playing different documentary files in sequence, the documented MediaLive approach is to create supported S3 file inputs as dynamic inputs and schedule channel switches among them. AWS: Setting up dynamic inputs

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Plan the desired sequence and configure each source file as a dynamic input.
- Use the channel schedule to switch between those inputs at the times you choose.
- Do not assume the schedule automatically restarts after the final file. The cited AWS documentation supports switching between files, but does not establish an indefinitely repeating multi-file playlist. If continuous cycling is essential, verify the schedule behavior and the method for restarting it against the current MediaLive documentation before relying on it.
What to verify before relying on the stream
- Source format and location: Confirm that the object is a supported S3 MP4 or TS file and that the input points to the intended object. For MP4, follow AWS’s documented
s3ssl://URI format and bucket naming restriction. AWS MP4 input setup information - One file versus a sequence: A single file’s loop behavior is explicitly documented. A scheduled sequence of dynamic inputs is also documented, but automatic infinite repetition of that sequence is not established by the cited pages.
- Destination details: Get the current YouTube ingest information from YouTube Studio. The AWS pages cited here confirm RTMP support and name YouTube as a wizard destination; they do not provide current YouTube endpoint or key values.
- Rights to the material: Make sure you have the necessary rights to stream the video and its audio on YouTube. The AWS capabilities described here do not determine whether a particular video complies with YouTube’s rules.
Or let it run in the cloud
