Create each live event separately in YouTube Studio: open Create > Go Live > Manage > Schedule Stream, then choose Create new or Reuse settings. YouTube’s documented workflow does not turn an always-on playlist into a series of separate event pages automatically. You must schedule each event, then send the intended video feed to that event when it is due.
What separate live events mean for an always-on playlist
A scheduled YouTube live event is an individual item in Live Control Room, with its own event details and watch page. A playlist or continuously running video feed is the content source; it does not, by itself, create a new scheduled event for each playlist item. YouTube’s documented scheduling workflow covers making events one at a time, not automatically generating event pages, URLs, or notifications from playlist entries.
Plan these as two separate jobs: schedule each event in Studio, then configure your chosen streaming setup to send the desired video feed to the event’s stream. If you need a distinct event page for every session, create and review a distinct scheduled event for each one.
Before scheduling: check channel eligibility and choose a streaming method
- Your channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days.
- First-time live-streaming enablement can take up to 24 hours, so do not leave activation until just before an event.
- YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder, and console as streaming methods. An encoder may be software or standalone hardware; it is useful when you need external audio/video equipment or more production control. A webcam is a simpler camera-based option. You do not need to buy equipment just to schedule events.
For a pre-recorded playlist, make sure the selected streaming setup can actually send that video feed to the scheduled event. The schedule itself does not play or dispatch playlist items.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Schedule each event in YouTube Studio
- In YouTube Studio, select Create > Go Live to open Live Control Room.
- Open Manage > Schedule Stream.
- Select Create new for a separate event. Alternatively, select Reuse settings to carry forward configuration from an earlier stream.
- Review the event’s title, description, visibility, scheduled time, and other details. Reusing settings copies configuration; it does not create an automatic playlist-to-events workflow, and copied details may not suit the new event.
- Save the scheduled event. You can share its event URL, and viewers can set reminders.
- Repeat these steps for every distinct event page you need.
Keep the event details aligned with the actual program and schedule. Scheduling several events does not mean YouTube will automatically start your feed or advance a playlist at each event’s start time.
Connect the video feed to the scheduled event
For an encoder workflow
- Open the scheduled event in Live Control Room and copy its YouTube stream URL and stream key.
- In your encoder, enter the stream URL in the server or URL field and the stream key in the key field. The key authorizes the encoder to send its feed to YouTube; treat it like a credential and do not share it publicly.
- Load or select the video feed you intend to use for this event. Check that the encoder is configured to send that feed rather than an unintended camera, desktop, or prior program.
- At the scheduled time, start the encoder and wait for the incoming preview in Live Control Room.
- Check the preview, then select Go live for that scheduled event. Starting the encoder sends the feed; the Studio action starts the event for viewers.
For webcam, mobile, or console streaming
YouTube also documents webcam, mobile, and console routes. Follow the prompts for the method you choose and confirm that the scheduled event is the one being broadcast. These are alternative ways to send a live feed, not a way to make playlist items automatically become separate events.

Test the event before viewers arrive
YouTube recommends setting up at least two hours ahead and starting an encoder at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time. Use that lead time to verify the event and feed rather than relying on a last-minute start.
- Confirm the event’s title, visibility, timing, and description in Live Control Room.
- Check that the event is accessible from the channel and watch pages, including on mobile.
- Wait for the preview and check audio and video quality before selecting Go live.
- If the production depends on failover, test backup-encoder behavior in advance.
Plan event length and archives
YouTube Help says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. That guidance does not establish that a single event can run indefinitely and still receive the standard automatic archive. For long-running programming, schedule distinct sessions and verify current YouTube behavior for the duration you intend to use.

When an event is finished, end it in Live Control Room and stop the encoder as appropriate. Do not leave a scheduled event or encoder running on the assumption that playlist transitions will create the next event page.
Common problems and fixes
| Problem | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| No event preview appears | The encoder has not started, or its server URL or stream key is wrong. | Start the encoder and check that the URL and key match the scheduled event. |
| The wrong event details appear | Settings were reused without updating event-specific information. | Review the title, description, visibility, and time for each event before saving and sharing it. |
| The encoder is sending video, but the event is not live | The feed has arrived, but the scheduled event has not been launched in Studio. | Check the preview in Live Control Room, then select Go live for that event. |
| A playlist item did not create a new watch page | Scheduling does not document automatic conversion of playlist entries into separate events. | Create and schedule the next event separately, then direct the intended feed to it. |
| Live streaming is unavailable on the channel | The channel may not be verified, may have a recent live-streaming restriction, or may still be waiting for first-time enablement. | Check channel eligibility and allow up to 24 hours for first-time enablement. |
Copyright and the program itself
Scheduling an event does not establish that the video content is authorized or eligible to stream. Make sure you have the rights needed for the material you plan to broadcast, and review YouTube’s current requirements for your content and channel. StreamNeo also provides a copyright safety checklist to help you review a planned stream.
