Choose settings your measured upload can sustain, leave about 20% bandwidth headroom, and wait for the YouTube preview before selecting Go live. Your BSNL plan’s advertised speed alone cannot confirm that the connection will hold a continuous stream.
Before you start
- Your YouTube channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days, and meet YouTube’s minimum age requirement of 16. See YouTube’s live-streaming setup requirements.
- You need a video file, an encoder-capable computer, and an internet connection with enough sustained upload capacity for the chosen stream settings. YouTube’s encoder workflow uses a server URL and stream key.
- No particular router, camera, capture device, broadband plan, or other physical product is established as necessary for this setup.
Set up the YouTube encoder stream
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or select a stream using an encoder. YouTube’s encoder setup instructions describe the flow.
- Copy the YouTube server URL and stream key into the corresponding fields in your encoder. Treat the key like a password: do not show it in screenshots or share it publicly. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio before streaming again.
- Add your prerecorded video to the encoder as a media source and configure that source to repeat. OBS’s exact controls can differ by version; check the documentation or interface for the version you use rather than relying on a menu path that may have changed.
- Set the encoder’s resolution, frame rate, codec, and bitrate. YouTube recommends RTMPS for encoder ingestion and publishes codec-specific settings in its encoder settings and bitrate guidance.
Choose settings that fit your BSNL upload
For H.264, YouTube’s current published recommendations include 5 Mbps for 1080p at 30 fps and 3 Mbps for 720p at 30 fps. These are YouTube encoder recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular BSNL line can sustain them. Use the table for your codec and resolution rather than choosing a bitrate in isolation.
YouTube advises leaving 20% headroom above the stream’s total bitrate and notes that upload speed is often lower than download speed. Its encoder settings guidance recommends RTMPS; its network guidance explains encoder settings. See also YouTube’s streaming tips for bandwidth headroom.
Measure the actual connection on the computer and network you plan to stream from, preferably at the time and for a duration representative of the broadcast. Allow for other devices sharing the connection, upload variation, and interruptions. A short speed test is a useful starting point, not proof of continuous stability. If the upload fluctuates, lower the resolution or bitrate and repeat a realistic test with motion and audio.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
What BSNL plan speeds do—and do not—tell you
A BSNL tariff’s advertised plan rate is not an individual subscriber’s measured upload performance. For example, the Chennai Telephones tariff document updated 1 October 2025 lists Fibre Neo at up to 50 Mbps before FUP and 4 Mbps after FUP, and Fibre Basic Plus at up to 100 Mbps before FUP and 4 Mbps after FUP. Those are advertised figures in a regional Chennai document; they are not upload-rate measurements and should not be treated as nationwide offers. Check the terms for your circle and plan, then test your own line.
Test the loop, then go live
- Start the encoder and confirm that the video repeats as intended, including its sound. Watch a realistic segment for stalls, audio gaps, or unexpected pauses.
- Wait for the incoming feed to appear in YouTube Live Control Room. Check the preview and stream health before selecting Go live.
- Monitor the encoder and Live Control Room during the broadcast. If the connection becomes unstable, reduce the stream settings or stop and troubleshoot before restarting.
- When finished, end the broadcast in YouTube and stop the encoder. YouTube says encoder streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived.
Copyright and channel-policy checks
Only stream video and audio you have the rights to use, including music, footage, and images. A prerecorded loop is still a live broadcast for YouTube’s policies; looping content does not grant permission to rebroadcast it. Review YouTube’s live-streaming requirements and its applicable copyright and monetization rules before scheduling a long-running stream. Reused or repetitive material can raise separate channel monetization questions; do not assume that being able to stream a file means it qualifies for monetization.

Troubleshoot common problems
- No preview in Live Control Room: confirm the encoder is running and that the server URL and stream key match the selected YouTube stream. Check the key privately; do not post it when asking for help.
- Buffering, dropped frames, or an unstable stream: the available upload may be below the total bitrate or may be fluctuating. YouTube recommends 20% headroom; reduce resolution or bitrate, limit competing uploads on the network, and test again.
- The stream works before FUP but fails afterward: check your plan’s post-FUP terms and measure the connection after the limit applies. Advertised plan headline speeds do not establish what your line can upload continuously in those conditions.
- The video stops instead of repeating: verify the media source’s loop/repeat setting in the encoder version you are using, then test the end-to-start transition before going live.
- The stream key may have been exposed: reset or replace it in YouTube Studio and update the encoder before the next broadcast.
- YouTube will not enable live streaming: check channel verification, account age eligibility, and whether the channel has a live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days.
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is to keep a prerecorded YouTube stream running without leaving a home computer or connection on, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload the recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live.
