Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFirst find out where the audio/video mismatch begins: compare your encoder preview and a local recording with the stream on YouTube. If the preview or recording is already out of sync, investigate your sources and encoder. If only YouTube playback is affected, check Live Control Room health messages, encoder load, and your outbound connection. YouTube does not document a universal live-stream sync control, and changing latency is not an established fix for drift.
Diagnose where the sync problem starts
- Check the encoder preview. Watch a section with clear musical beats or vocals and visible movement. If the mismatch is present before the stream reaches YouTube, focus on the audio/video sources and encoder configuration.
- Check a local recording or archive. Compare the same moment in the recording with the preview. YouTube recommends checking the encoder stream, encoder errors and CPU load, and looking for audio or video problems in a local archive. YouTube’s live-stream troubleshooting guidance explains these checks.
- Compare YouTube playback. If the encoder preview and local recording are in sync but YouTube playback is not, proceed to Live Control Room health messages and the outgoing connection rather than changing source timing at random.
Keep the same clip and timestamp for each comparison. This makes it easier to tell whether a change helped or merely shifted the mismatch.
Read Live Control Room health messages
Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and inspect stream health messages, including their timestamps. Correct the specific issue reported—for example, an audio format, number of audio streams, sample rate, or bitrate warning—before changing unrelated settings. YouTube’s live-stream error-message guide describes those alerts.
For the configuration checks in that guidance, use H.264 video and AAC audio; send one audio stream, with a 44.1 kHz sample rate and a recommended audio bitrate of 128 Kbps. These are ingestion and configuration checks, not a guaranteed cure for every sync fault.

Check encoder, sources, and load
If the preview or local recording is out of sync
- Check that the video and audio sources belong to the same program and that neither source is delayed, duplicated, or routed through an unexpected path.
- Review the encoder’s own error indicators and settings. Available sync controls vary by encoder, so consult its documentation rather than applying an assumed offset value.
- Check encoder CPU load. If the machine is struggling, close unnecessary workloads or reduce processing demands, then make a representative test before relying on the stream.
If only YouTube playback is out of sync
When the preview and local recording are healthy, investigate stream health and outbound delivery. Check whether the issue is steady or changes over time, and note its timing alongside the dashboard’s alerts. Avoid making multiple changes at once: change one relevant setting, then compare the same test segment again.
Check bandwidth and stream health separately
A weak or unstable outbound connection can disrupt delivery even when the encoder preview looks right. Compare the combined bitrate of the primary and any backup stream with available upload bandwidth. YouTube recommends keeping upload bandwidth 20% above the total stream bitrate. Its streaming tips also advise monitoring audio and video quality continuously.

- The new generation of the songwriter's interface: Plug in your mic and guitar and let Scarlett Solo 4th Gen bring big studio sound to wherever you make music
- Studio-quality sound: With a huge 120dB dynamic range, the newest generation of Scarlett uses the same converters as Focusrite’s flagship interfaces, found in the world's biggest studios
- Find your signature sound: Scarlett 4th Gen's improved Air mode lifts vocals and guitars to the front of the mix, adding musical presence and rich harmonic drive to your recordings
- All you need to record, mix and master your music: Includes industry-leading recording software and a full collection of record-making plugins
- Everything in the box: Includes Pro Tools Intro+, Ableton Live Lite, Cubase LE, and Hitmaker Expansion: a suite of essential effects, powerful software instruments, and easy-to-use mastering tools
Check encoder CPU load separately from connection capacity: a healthy upload rate does not rule out an overloaded encoder, and a healthy preview does not establish that the outbound connection is sufficient.
Test changes before leaving a 24/7 stream unattended
- Choose a representative test segment with audio and visible movement similar to the actual Hindi songs stream.
- Run the test and check the encoder preview, a local recording if available, YouTube playback, and Live Control Room health messages.
- Change one relevant source, encoder, or connection setting at a time. Repeat the comparison to see whether the mismatch improves, worsens, or moves.
- Once the stream is running, continue monitoring audio and video quality. YouTube recommends pre-testing with audio and movement similar to the real stream and monitoring stream health; it does not specify a monitoring interval for a 24/7 broadcast. See its encoder settings and testing guidance.
Do not confuse latency with audio/video sync
Latency is the delay between capture and playback for viewers; it is different from the relative timing of audio and video. YouTube describes low latency as usually under 10 seconds for most viewers and ultra-low latency as usually under 5 seconds for most viewers. These are latency descriptions, not sync tolerances. Lower latency can increase buffering, and YouTube does not document the latency selector as a correction for A/V drift. For a non-interactive music stream, stable playback will usually matter more than minimizing capture-to-viewer delay unless interaction needs justify lower latency. See YouTube’s latency guidance and live-stream settings help.

Keep music rights as a separate check
Copyright enforcement does not cause or fix sync drift, but it can interrupt a continuous songs broadcast. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content matches and may interrupt or terminate a stream. Even if you have a licence, the rights owner may need to allowlist your channel. Check YouTube’s live-stream copyright guidance for details.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is a continuous YouTube broadcast from uploaded videos, StreamNeo is a cloud service that keeps a channel live 24/7 without leaving a computer or home connection running. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops the uploaded video in the cloud; it does not broadcast a camera feed. StreamNeo’s stream should still be checked for YouTube playback and health messages when diagnosing sync or delivery issues.

| What you see | What to check next |
|---|---|
| Audio and video are out of sync in the encoder preview and local recording. | Investigate source routing and encoder configuration; consult the encoder’s documentation for its available controls. |
| Preview and recording look right, but YouTube playback does not. | Check timestamped Live Control Room messages, encoder errors and CPU load, then test the outbound connection. |
| Live Control Room reports an audio configuration error. | Check codec, single audio-stream count, 44.1 kHz sample rate, and the recommended 128 Kbps audio bitrate against YouTube’s error guidance. |
| Stream quality varies or health alerts appear during delivery. | Compare total primary-plus-backup bitrate with available upload capacity, leave 20% headroom, and monitor stream health. |
| Changing latency does not resolve the mismatch. | That is expected: latency controls capture-to-viewer delay, not a documented A/V drift correction. Return to the encoder-versus-YouTube diagnosis. |
| The stream is interrupted despite a music licence. | Review YouTube’s live copyright requirements; ask the rights owner about channel allowlisting if applicable. |
YouTube’s separate advice for syncing audio and video tracks in uploaded videos concerns uploads, not live-stream correction. Do not treat editing an upload as the remedy for live drift; see YouTube’s upload audio/video troubleshooting page for that distinct case.
