YouTube does not specify special encoder settings for these languages; the important checks are the correct tracks, compatible playback, stream settings, rights, and transitions.
Choose how to assemble the program
Use an OBS playlist when you want to play separate local files in a set order without first creating one combined media file. OBS’s VLC Video source supports playlists, track selection, subtitle controls, and a loop option. If you prefer one output file, FFmpeg’s concat demuxer is an alternative, but it requires compatible inputs.

Build and check an ordered OBS playlist
- Install OBS Studio and VLC. OBS’s VLC Video source becomes available when VLC is installed. If you use 64-bit OBS, install 64-bit VLC as well.
- Add the source. In OBS, select the scene you will use, add a VLC Video source, and add your video files in the intended playback order.
- Set the sequence behavior. Keep shuffle off for a fixed program. Enable Loop Playlist only if the sequence should restart after the final file.
- Verify tracks file by file. Use the source’s audio-track and subtitle controls to select the intended Telugu or Tamil audio and subtitles. Do not assume the right track is track 1, or that every file uses the same track number.
- Test the complete program. Play every file, including the end of each video and the beginning of the next. Confirm the audio is audible, subtitles are legible and synchronized where used, and the sequence behaves as intended at its final file.
OBS documents playlist looping, but does not promise mathematically gap-free audiovisual handoffs for arbitrary files. Test the actual files and transitions rather than treating the playlist setting as a guarantee.

Use FFmpeg only with compatible files
The concat demuxer reads a text list and presents packets from the listed files one after another as if they had been muxed together. It is not a general-purpose fix for mismatched media. The files need the same streams, codecs, and time base; FFmpeg adjusts timestamps using file durations, so inaccurate duration data can cause artifacts or gaps.
Before relying on a concatenated output, check that the files’ stream layouts and timing characteristics match, then play through the joins and inspect the final result. If those conditions are not met, use an OBS playlist or prepare compatible media before concatenating.

Configure YouTube’s live encoder feed
Live ingest settings are distinct from upload recommendations. Use YouTube’s live encoder guidance for the feed sent from OBS, rather than treating its upload-format suggestions as mandatory re-encoding rules for every playlist file.
- Ingest protocol: YouTube recommends RTMPS.
- Video codec: YouTube lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 for RTMP/RTMPS ingest.
- Frame rate: YouTube’s guidance supports frame rates up to 60 fps.
- Rate control and keyframes: Use constant bitrate encoding and a 2-second keyframe interval; YouTube says the interval should not exceed 4 seconds.
- Bitrate: Choose a rate based on the resolution, frame rate, and codec, and make sure your upload connection can sustain it. For H.264, YouTube’s published recommendations are 5 Mbps at 1080p/30 fps and 14 Mbps at 1080p/60 fps; its corresponding minimums are 4 Mbps and 6 Mbps. These are recommendations, not a promise that a particular connection will be stable.
- SDR color: YouTube’s advanced guidance includes Rec. 709 color space and 8-bit depth for ordinary SDR.
Run a speed test before choosing a bitrate. YouTube’s published settings may change, so check the current live encoder settings before a production stream.

YouTube’s upload recommendations describe MP4, H.264, progressive scan, and AAC-LC, Opus, or Eclipsa Audio, and recommend uploading at the frame rate at which footage was recorded. Those are upload recommendations; they do not mean every existing file must be re-encoded before it can be used as an OBS playlist source. See YouTube’s recommended upload encoding settings.
Connect OBS to the YouTube live stream
- Set up the live stream in YouTube Live Control Room.
- Copy the stream URL and stream key into the encoder’s stream settings in OBS.
- Keep the stream key private. YouTube describes it as the credential that lets the encoder send the feed to YouTube.
- Preview and test before the event with representative audio and motion. Check the Live Control Room preview and stream-health messages.
- During the event, monitor stream quality and verify that the event is accessible from the channel or watch page and on mobile devices.

Check language tracks, rights, and the run order
- Give files clear names or keep a written run order with each title, language, and intended track.
- Play a representative portion of every source and confirm the intended audio is present. Track numbering can differ from file to file.
- Where subtitles are used, check that the correct subtitle track appears, is readable, and stays synchronized.
- Confirm that you have the rights to every video, soundtrack, and subtitle file, and that the broadcast complies with YouTube’s Community Guidelines. The status of rights depends on your particular material; it cannot be inferred from its language or file format.
YouTube’s live streaming tips recommend testing, monitoring the preview and quality, and considering rights and Community Guidelines. The official guidance cited here does not set Telugu- or Tamil-specific codec settings or establish a standard track-number convention.
