The calculation
Net membership revenue after refunds = (recognized membership revenue after applicable taxes and fees × your applicable revenue-share rate) − refund deductions charged against your share.

Worked example
Suppose eligible membership revenue recognized by Google after applicable taxes and fees is $100, and the applicable share is 70%. The pre-refund creator share is $70. If finalized account records show $7 in refund deductions charged against that share, the amount after those refunds is $63.

The $100 and $7 are hypothetical inputs for arithmetic, not YouTube-published figures. Do not subtract a member’s entire original payment again if the figure you started with is already a creator-share amount or has already been adjusted for the refund. Reconcile the deduction against the AdSense for YouTube account records to avoid counting it twice.
Find the figures in YouTube Studio and AdSense
- Open YouTube Studio and go to Analytics > Revenue. The channel-membership guidance identifies the Transactions Revenue card for membership transaction counts and the membership detail under “How you make money” for a more detailed revenue breakdown.
- Use Analytics figures as estimates. YouTube defines membership revenue in Analytics as an estimated metric; it is useful for monitoring, but it is not the finalized amount.
- Check AdSense for YouTube for finalized earnings. These figures can differ from Analytics estimates. YouTube says finalized earnings for the previous month are added to the account balance between the 7th and 12th of each month. Estimated revenue adjustments may occur after one week and around the middle of the following month. These are general reporting timelines, not a promised posting date for an individual refund.
- Reconcile the refund deduction against your creator share. Use the finalized account records to identify the amount charged against your share and the period in which it appears. The public guidance does not specify a universal transaction-level ledger field or refund posting schedule, so do not assume a particular line label or date.

Separate refunds from cancellations
A cancellation is not automatically a refund. When a member cancels, future charges stop, but membership benefits generally continue through the end of the billing cycle; YouTube says it does not provide a refund or credit for the partially elapsed period. A refund is a separate outcome: if YouTube grants the member’s refund claim, it deducts the creator’s share from AdSense for YouTube. A practical monthly reconciliation
- Keep estimated Analytics revenue separate from finalized earnings.
- Distinguish recognized membership revenue from your creator-share amount.
- Record cancellations separately from refunds; cancellation alone does not establish a refund deduction.
- Subtract the refund deduction charged against your share, not the member’s full payment a second time.
- When figures do not reconcile, check the finalized account records and applicable Commerce Product Module agreement. The public help pages do not establish a universal transaction-by-transaction reconciliation method or jurisdiction-specific bookkeeping treatment.
