Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →For a scheduled pre-recorded YouTube broadcast, compare Restream and StreamYard first: both document automated playback of uploaded videos. For a continuous 24/7 loop, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it runs uploaded videos from the cloud, at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. YouTube also names Gyre as a cloud option for 24/7 streams; AJA HELO Plus is a dedicated hardware alternative, not a cloud service.
These services send a video to YouTube as a live stream; that is different from uploading an ordinary video to YouTube. Choose based on whether you need a one-time scheduled broadcast, an ongoing loop, production controls, or a stream that keeps running without your own computer.
Which service fits your broadcast?
| Option | Best-supported use | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Continuous YouTube streaming from uploaded videos, including 24/7 looping. | It runs in the cloud, supports uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and includes automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. See StreamNeo. |
| Restream | Scheduling uploaded pre-recorded video, or combining a software encoder workflow with YouTube and other destinations. | Meet its file and encoding requirements; verify current plan limits, looping behavior, and destination needs. |
| StreamYard | Scheduling a pre-recorded broadcast that starts and ends automatically. | Check upload size, bitrate, resolution, destination support, and whether the automated flow gives you the production controls you need. |
| Gyre | Cloud-based 24/7 pre-recorded YouTube output, as named in YouTube’s encoder guidance. | Verify current scheduling, looping, input, resolution, plan, and support limits directly; those details are not established here. |
| Tencent Cloud StreamLive | Infrastructure-oriented cloud delivery lead. | Its manual describes YouTube as a destination and H.264/H.265 output, but an automated pre-recorded playout workflow is not established. |
| AJA HELO Plus | Scheduled pre-recorded playback using dedicated hardware. | YouTube describes its PlayToStream feature as scheduling prerecorded media to YouTube Live without a computer. It is hardware, not a cloud service. |
For a single scheduled event, compare Restream and StreamYard’s documented automated playback. For a continuous loop, start with StreamNeo; YouTube also points to Gyre, but its detailed limits should be confirmed with the provider. If you need multistreaming, studio controls, or a hardware appliance, check those specific workflows rather than assuming every service offers them.
What to verify before choosing
- Automatic start and end: Confirm the service can schedule the uploaded file itself, rather than merely helping you configure a live encoder.
- Loop and duration: Check whether a file plays once, repeats, or can run continuously, and whether the platform imposes a session limit.
- File limits and encoding: Compare maximum file size, duration, bitrate, resolution, frame rate, and accepted codecs against the source video you plan to use.
- Production controls: Determine whether you can add overlays, assets, or on-stream comments. StreamYard says its automated prerecorded output cannot be controlled like its normal studio for live overlays/assets and on-stream comments.
- Where encoding runs: Establish whether the provider plays the video from its cloud or whether your own computer, software, or hardware must remain active.
- Destinations and cost: Check supported destinations and current plan terms directly. Current prices for the compared services were not verified, so there is no reliable price ranking here.
Restream: requirements for an uploaded video
Restream’s prerecorded-video guide lists specific upload requirements and recommendations. These are Restream’s published rules, not universal YouTube requirements.

- Container: MP4, MOV, M4V, or MKV.
- Video and audio: H.264 video and AAC audio.
- Keyframe interval: 2.
- Recommended output: Full HD 1080p, 30 or 60 fps; use CBR where practical. The appropriate bitrate depends on the destination platforms.
- Intro and outro padding: Restream recommends adding 15–20 seconds at each end, because destination processing may otherwise cut into the content.
Restream also says it supports major streaming software including OBS, Streamlabs, and vMix. That is relevant if your workflow includes a software encoder; check the service’s current documentation for your exact scheduling, destination, and plan requirements.
StreamYard: upload and production limits
StreamYard’s Help Center says its automated prerecorded flow accepts MP4 with H.264, allows uploads up to 10 Mbps, and streams these broadcasts at up to 1080p on paid plans. Its stated file-size limits differ by plan:
| StreamYard plan group | Stated maximum upload size |
|---|---|
| Core or Advanced | 10 GB |
| Teams or Business | 25 GB |
These limits are from StreamYard’s Help Center, accessed in 2026; confirm the current plan matrix before scheduling a large file. Its automated prerecorded output also lacks the normal studio’s live controls for overlays/assets and on-stream comments, so it may not suit a broadcast that needs those interactions.

Prepare YouTube Live before scheduling
YouTube says first-time live-stream activation may take up to 24 hours. Restream’s YouTube guidance describes enabling streaming through phone verification, followed by a 24-hour wait for the first stream. Enable and test live streaming well before the event; do not assume a newly enabled channel can go live immediately.

Check that the recording and all included material are cleared for YouTube use. A video being pre-recorded does not exempt a live broadcast from copyright rules. For a documentary channel, review footage, music, archival clips, narration, and any third-party material before scheduling. YouTube can also apply its monetization policies to repetitive or reused material; adding a live-stream wrapper does not by itself make a compilation original or establish rights to the underlying content. Review YouTube’s current policies for your channel and territory before relying on monetization.
Duration, archives, and 24/7 continuity
Restream says YouTube has no stream-duration limit, but YouTube archives streams only when they are under 12 hours. Those are separate considerations: an ongoing broadcast may continue while its archive is not retained as one complete recording. If you need a replay, plan a session under that archive threshold or arrange another way to retain the program.

For a true 24/7 channel, ask the provider how it handles looping, stream interruption, recovery, and any practical input or storage limits. YouTube’s encoder guide identifies Gyre as a cloud-based option for 24/7 pre-recorded streaming, but the details of its current limits are not established here. StreamNeo includes looping playlists, 10 GB storage per slot (pooled across active slots), and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.

The scheduled stream does not start
Confirm that YouTube Live is enabled for the channel and that the initial activation wait has passed. Then verify the event’s scheduled time, destination, and stream key in the service you are using.
The upload is rejected or plays incorrectly
For Restream, check the container, H.264 video, AAC audio, and keyframe interval against its published requirements. For StreamYard, check the MP4/H.264 format, 10 Mbps upload limit, and plan-specific file size. Re-exporting to the provider’s stated requirements is more reliable than assuming a file accepted by one service will work in another.

The opening or ending content is cut off
Restream recommends 15–20 seconds of padding at both ends to account for destination processing. Add that margin to the file and test the scheduled output before an important broadcast.
The live session runs but no complete archive appears
Restream reports that YouTube archives streams only when they are under 12 hours. Treat a continuous stream and a complete saved replay as separate goals.
The broadcast needs overlays or live comments
StreamYard says automated prerecorded output cannot be controlled like a normal studio for overlays/assets and on-stream comments. Choose a workflow with the production controls you require, or prepare those elements in the video itself.
