To loop a prerecorded product launch presentation on YouTube Live, play the video on repeat in an encoder, then send that encoder’s feed to a YouTube Live event. YouTube receives the feed; the encoder controls playback and looping. You can run the encoder on a computer that stays on, or use StreamNeo to loop uploaded videos from the cloud.

What you need before you start

  • A finished presentation video and permission to use all the material in it, including music, images, clips, and product visuals.
  • A YouTube channel able to go live and access to YouTube Studio.
  • An encoder that can play a video file repeatedly, plus a reliable internet connection with enough upload capacity for your chosen stream quality.
  • A person to monitor the event if the stream is being run from a computer. A live presenter and microphone are optional; neither is needed for a fully prerecorded presentation.

Check the presentation’s first and last frames before streaming. A hard cut between the end and beginning can feel abrupt. Make the offer, store URL, and other important details readable for viewers who arrive partway through a loop.

Create the YouTube Live event

  1. In YouTube Studio, select Create → Go Live.
  2. Create a stream or schedule one from the Manage tab. Scheduling gives you an event page to share and lets viewers set reminders.
  3. Set the title, description, thumbnail, and visibility. YouTube offers public, private, and unlisted visibility; the default can vary by creator age.
  4. Open the stream’s connection details and locate the stream URL and stream key. Treat the key like a password: do not show it in public screenshots, recordings, or a shared screen.

YouTube’s encoder workflow is documented in its guide to creating a live stream with an encoder.

Configure the encoder to loop the presentation

  1. Open an encoder that supports video-file playback and repeat playback. The precise controls depend on the encoder and its version.
  2. Add the finished presentation as a media input or playlist item.
  3. Enable the encoder’s repeat or loop behavior. If you use a playlist, check both the order of the items and whether the playlist repeats after the last item.
  4. Choose YouTube as the service if the encoder offers it. Otherwise, paste YouTube’s stream URL into the encoder’s server field and the stream key into its key field.
  5. Use RTMPS if your encoder offers it. YouTube lists RTMP/RTMPS as supported protocols and recommends RTMPS for an encrypted connection.

YouTube accepts an encoder feed, but the repeat control is encoder-specific; do not assume YouTube Studio itself will loop a submitted video. Confirm the loop setting in the encoder you choose before scheduling the launch.

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Set stream quality and test it

Choose a resolution and frame rate your upload connection can sustain. YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends constant bitrate, a two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds), and AAC or MP3 audio. The page lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, and AV1 video options, up to 60 frames per second; not every encoder exposes every option.

H.264 stream setting YouTube-recommended bitrate
720p at 30 fps 4 Mbps
720p at 60 fps 6 Mbps
1080p at 30 fps 10 Mbps
1080p at 60 fps 12 Mbps

These are H.264 recommendations shown in YouTube’s encoder-settings guidance, not minimum requirements or guarantees that a connection can sustain the stream. Leave upload headroom for network variation, and test at the planned quality. See YouTube’s live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions for its current guidance.

  1. Start the encoder and wait for the preview in YouTube’s Live Control Room.
  2. Check that the picture moves, the audio is audible and correctly balanced, and the presentation returns to its opening after the final frame.
  3. For a scheduled event, click Go Live in Live Control Room once the preview is ready, unless your setup is configured to start automatically.
  4. Monitor stream health during the event. YouTube recommends testing with audio and video similar to what you will use in the actual stream.

Run the loop and end the event cleanly

For a computer-based setup, keep the encoder and computer running throughout the broadcast. Monitor the stream and the computer’s power and network connection. When the launch is over, end the event in Live Control Room and stop the encoder feed.

YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. If you plan to stream longer, confirm current platform behavior and arrange a separate recording or archive rather than relying on a complete YouTube replay.

Choose a setup that fits the launch

Setup Best fit Trade-off
StreamNeo Store owners who want an uploaded presentation to loop to YouTube without leaving a computer running. It plays uploaded videos to YouTube; it is not a camera-based live production tool.
Computer with software encoder A one-off launch or a low-cost setup with an operator present. The computer, encoder, and internet connection must remain available, and someone should monitor the event.
Dedicated hardware encoder with prerecorded playout More operationally demanding or unattended scheduled playback. Requires dedicated equipment and setup; check supported media, scheduling, remote monitoring, and backup options before buying.
Live presenter over the loop A launch that benefits from commentary or questions. Adds live production work, such as a microphone and someone to monitor chat.

YouTube names the AJA HELO Plus as a hardware encoder and describes its PlayToStream function for scheduling prerecorded media to YouTube Live without a computer. Treat it as one example to evaluate, not as a requirement.

Troubleshoot common problems

  • The event exists, but no picture arrives: Confirm the encoder is sending to the correct stream URL and that the stream key matches the event. Check the encoder’s connection status and wait for the Live Control Room preview.
  • The presentation plays once and stops: The encoder’s repeat setting may be off, or the wrong media source may be configured. Enable repeat for the media item or playlist and test through the end of the file.
  • The scheduled stream is not public at the intended time: Starting the encoder may only send a preview. Check Live Control Room and select Go Live when ready, unless auto-start is enabled.
  • Playback stutters or stream health degrades: Lower the resolution, frame rate, or bitrate to a level your upload connection can sustain. Test the connection and stream at the planned settings before the launch.
  • The stream looks fine but has no sound: Check that the video includes an audio track, that the encoder is sending it, and that the preview is audible. If you have added live commentary, check the microphone input and its level.
  • The archive is incomplete: YouTube’s stated automatic archive coverage applies to streams under 12 hours. For a longer event, use a separate recording or archive plan.
  • The stream key may have been exposed: Replace or reset it in YouTube Studio before the event, then update the encoder with the new key.
