Schedule each seasonal broadcast in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, share its upcoming watch page so viewers can set reminders, then add the replay and useful clips to a clearly named playlist. A live event and a prerecorded video scheduled for later publication use different workflows, so choose the one that matches what you are publishing.
Plan a seasonal schedule your team can sustain
Choose the event format, frequency, and total volume before creating events. A holiday gift guide, a product preview, and a recurring seasonal showcase may need different preparation and promotion. Set a cadence your team can maintain and tell viewers when to expect events or when plans change.
As you review each event, consider the production effort and cost alongside its viewership and revenue. Use those observations to adjust the next event’s format or frequency; there is no universally established best day or time for a retail livestream.
Schedule a YouTube Live event
- Open Live Control Room. In YouTube Studio, select Create, then Go Live.
- Open Manage. In Live Control Room, select the Manage tab, where scheduled streams are created and accessed.
- Create the event. Schedule a new stream or reuse settings from a previous broadcast. Set the event details, including its title, date, time, and privacy setting.
- Record it in your campaign calendar. Save the planned details and the event URL alongside the retail campaign schedule so the team can promote the correct event.
- Promote the event page. Share its scheduled-stream URL through relevant customer communications and social channels. Viewers may see it as upcoming and opt to receive a reminder.
Scheduling creates an upcoming event page that can be shared before the broadcast. It does not publish a finished video at a chosen future time; use the upload scheduling workflow for that.

Build and maintain the seasonal playlist
Create a collection viewers can recognize
Create a playlist with a clear seasonal name, such as “Holiday Gift Live Shows” or “Spring Retail Preview.” Add relevant videos and replays, arrange them in an intentional order, and choose a privacy setting that fits the intended audience.
Consider an official series playlist only when it fits
If the channel is verified and the videos are intended to be watched together, you can consider designating the playlist as an official series playlist. This is optional. A video can appear in only one series playlist, and the playlist can include only videos uploaded by your channel for which you have the necessary rights.

Organize the archive after each event
After a broadcast, check the replay’s visibility, then add the replay and useful highlight clips to the seasonal playlist. This keeps the event’s archive discoverable alongside the rest of the season’s programming.
Live event scheduling versus scheduling an upload
| Question | Scheduled live event | Scheduled upload |
|---|---|---|
| What is being scheduled? | A live broadcast in Live Control Room. | A finished video being published later. |
| Where is it scheduled? | YouTube Studio: Create > Go Live, then Live Control Room’s Manage tab. | The upload flow’s Schedule card. |
| What can viewers do beforehand? | Visit the upcoming event page and opt into a reminder. | The upload workflow sets a publication date, time, and time zone; it is not the Live Control Room event page workflow. |
For a scheduled upload, set the date, time, and time zone in the Schedule card. YouTube notes that the date shown on a public video’s watch page is based on Pacific Standard Time and can differ from the date Studio shows in some time zones. That note concerns scheduled uploads; do not confuse it with the separate live-event scheduling flow.

Keep the season manageable between events
- Leave time for recent uploads to reach viewers before going live.
- Tell viewers about schedule changes rather than letting an announced cadence silently lapse.
- Review the effort, cost, viewership, and revenue associated with each event before settling on the next season’s frequency or format.
- After each broadcast, verify archive visibility and add the replay and selected clips to the playlist.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your seasonal retail programming includes uploaded videos you want to keep looping as a YouTube live stream, StreamNeo is a separate cloud option: upload the video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay powered on at home. Each slot streams your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; there are no quality tiers. StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the Monthly price is $9.99 per month. This is for uploaded videos, not a camera-based live broadcast. Learn more at StreamNeo or start the free day.
