To loop one Marathi song in OBS, add it as a Media Source and enable Loop. To rotate several songs, use a VLC Video source and enable Loop Playlist. Connect OBS to a YouTube Live stream, set a supported 4K/60 encoder configuration, and check the Live Control Room preview and stream health before making the broadcast public.
Before you start: prepare the files and confirm the rights
Use local video or audio files that you are authorized to broadcast. OBS Media Source supports common video formats such as MP4, TS, MOV, FLV, MKV, AVI, GIF and WebM, and audio formats including MP3, AAC, OGG and WAV. A song being Marathi, available on another platform, or credited in your description does not by itself grant live-broadcast permission.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. It may replace a stream with a placeholder and warn you; if the content continues, the stream can be interrupted or terminated. A copyright strike can also end a stream. If you have a license, ask the rights owner to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist: YouTube warns that a stream can still be interrupted without allowlisting, even when you have a license or restrict territories. See YouTube’s guidance on live-stream copyright.
YouTube’s livestream terms require the creator to have necessary rights for worldwide exploitation on Google services, including music rights involving artists, labels, publishers and other royalty participants. A personal listening subscription, a physical copy, or attribution is not a substitute for those rights. YouTube Creator Music is not a clearance route for live streams; its catalog tracks are for long-form videos, and its availability information has been described in U.S. YouTube Partner Program terms. See YouTube’s terms and Creator Music guidance.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Choose a looping method in OBS
Repeat one song or video
- Open OBS and select the scene that will carry the broadcast.
- In the Sources box, select + and choose Media Source.
- Name the source, then choose OK.
- In its properties, enable Local File if needed and browse to the authorized file.
- Check Loop, then select OK. OBS documents Loop as off by default for a local Media Source.
The file repeats when playback reaches its end. That setting does not promise a gapless audio transition; listen to the restart during a rehearsal.
Rotate several songs
- Install VLC if it is not already installed. OBS requires VLC for the VLC Video source to appear.
- In the scene’s Sources box, select + and choose VLC Video.
- Add the authorized files to the source playlist and arrange them in the desired order.
- Confirm Loop Playlist is enabled. OBS documents this option as on by default.
- Select OK, then play through song changes in a private or unlisted rehearsal to check picture, sound and transitions.
For source-specific details, see the OBS Media Sources documentation. Playlist looping repeats the playlist; it does not establish seamless, gapless audio between tracks.

Set up YouTube Live and connect OBS
- In YouTube Studio, create or schedule a live stream and open its Live Control Room. You need a stream URL and stream key for an encoder connection.
- In OBS, open Settings → Stream. Select YouTube if the integration is available, or choose the option to use a stream URL, then enter the YouTube stream URL and stream key. Treat the key as a password: do not share it or show it on screen.
- Set the OBS video output to the resolution and frame rate you intend to send. YouTube detects encoder resolution and frame rate automatically by default; confirm the incoming signal in the Live Control Room.
- Start streaming from OBS and wait for the stream preview to appear in YouTube Live Control Room. Check video, audio and stream health before selecting Go live for a scheduled broadcast.
- Monitor stream health during the broadcast. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours are automatically archived in its current encoder guidance; longer streams should not be assumed to have an automatic archive.
YouTube’s encoder setup instructions cover connecting by selecting YouTube in an encoder or entering the stream URL and key: Set up your encoder for live streaming.
Choose 4K/60 output and encoder settings
YouTube’s current encoder guidance, accessed October 3, 2026, recommends different 4K/2160p at 60fps bitrates by codec. These are ingestion recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular computer, encoder or internet connection can sustain the broadcast.

| Encoder codec | YouTube 4K/60 recommended bitrate | Stated minimum |
|---|---|---|
| AV1 or H.265 (HEVC) | 35 Mbps | 10 Mbps |
| H.264 | 50 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
Choose a codec your encoder hardware or software actually supports, and use the matching recommendation rather than treating the rates as interchangeable. YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR), supports up to 60fps, and recommends a 2-second keyframe interval; do not exceed 4 seconds. Check the YouTube live encoder settings before a broadcast because platform recommendations can change.
- Resolution and frame rate: Set 3840 × 2160 and 60fps only if the source, OBS output, encoder and connection can sustain them. A 4K file alone does not guarantee a 4K/60 stream.
- Bitrate: In OBS output settings, use CBR and a bitrate appropriate to the selected codec and YouTube guidance. Leave upload headroom rather than assuming a speed-test peak is continuously available to the stream.
- Keyframes: Set the keyframe interval to 2 seconds, with 4 seconds as the maximum in YouTube’s guidance.
- Latency: YouTube’s guidance says 4K/60 does not offer its low-latency option and is optimized for normal latency. Do not select a low-latency expectation that the format does not support.
- Audio and transitions: Check that song audio reaches OBS and the YouTube preview at a suitable level. Rehearse the end-to-start transition; looping controls do not guarantee gapless audio.
YouTube advises creators to test upload bitrate and run a pre-stream test with representative audio and motion, then monitor stream health while live. Use its encoder settings guide for current technical guidance.

Rehearse and troubleshoot before a long broadcast
Make a private or unlisted test using the same files, OBS scene, encoder settings and network you plan to use. Check the YouTube preview and OBS/Live Control Room stream-health indicators. This is practical risk reduction, not a guarantee against interruptions.
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Song stops instead of repeating | Media Source Loop is off, or the wrong source is playing. | Open the source properties and enable Loop; confirm the file is loaded in that source. |
| Playlist ends after the last track | Loop Playlist is disabled or the source is not VLC Video. | Confirm VLC is installed, use a VLC Video source and enable Loop Playlist. |
| VLC Video is missing from the source menu | VLC is not installed or OBS cannot detect it. | Install VLC, restart OBS, then check the Sources + menu again. |
| YouTube preview has no picture or sound | The wrong source, file, audio routing, stream destination or key may be configured. | Play the source in OBS, inspect its audio meter and properties, verify the YouTube stream URL/key, then check the Live Control Room preview before going live. |
| Stream health reports instability or dropped frames | Upload capacity or encoder performance may be insufficient for the selected output. | Run an upload speed test, compare sustained capacity with the codec-specific target, reduce output demands if necessary, and test again. A recommended bitrate is not a reliability guarantee. |
| Live stream is replaced, interrupted or terminated | YouTube may have detected third-party content, or a strike or rights issue may apply. | Review YouTube’s copyright notice and channel status. Confirm broadcast rights and, for licensed material, ask the owner about Content ID allowlisting. |
Cost and operating trade-offs
OBS is free, open-source software, and the core local-file workflow does not require buying a capture card or other hardware product. It does require the computer running OBS, the files, the encoder capacity and an internet connection to remain available throughout the broadcast. A hosted continuous-streaming service is an optional alternative, not a requirement for OBS looping. YouTube’s encoder directory lists Gyre for continuous prerecorded-video streams, including advertised Full HD and 4K at 30/60fps; the listing does not establish its current pricing or actual performance. See YouTube’s encoder directory.
