If it appears in the preview or archive, check the media and active scene in your encoder or production software. If only one viewer sees it, check that viewer’s playback settings. YouTube does not identify a “store promo loop” issue or document a specific reset for it, so the fix depends on which part of the broadcast is repeating.
Identify where the video repeats
Ask someone else to check the live stream while you compare it with the Live Control Room preview. After the broadcast, compare the archive too. YouTube’s encoder workflow has creators check the stream preview before going live, and streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; the archive can help establish what was actually sent out. - Preview repeats: The repeated content is likely already in the feed reaching YouTube. Check the active source and scene in your encoder or production software.
- Archive repeats, but preview did not: Check whether the repeated segment was present in the actual outgoing feed during the broadcast. A viewer’s playback setting would not explain repetition recorded in the archive.
- Only one viewer sees it: Have that viewer check their player and playback context. If other viewers see normal playback, the creator’s feed may not be the cause.
- You cannot tell: Note the store service, streaming software or device, and whether the archive repeats. Those details are necessary to narrow down a cause without guessing.
If the repeat appears in the preview or archive
Check the source being sent to YouTube
- In your encoder or production software, inspect the active scene and media source. Confirm that the intended video or live production feed is selected, rather than a promo clip or a source configured to repeat.
- Check the actual feed in YouTube Live Control Room. YouTube’s documented encoder workflow uses a YouTube server URL and stream key; verify that your encoder is sending the intended stream to the intended Live Control Room event. See YouTube’s encoder setup instructions.
- Before the next broadcast, preview the feed and confirm the correct content appears. YouTube recommends testing ahead and monitoring audio and video quality during an event. These are general precautions, not a documented cure for this specific symptom. YouTube live streaming tips.
YouTube’s help guidance explains encoder setup and previewing, but it does not name a specific setting or reset that fixes a repeated promo in the outgoing feed. If the source and event are correct but the problem persists, identify the encoder, store platform, and device involved before changing settings.
If only one viewer sees the repeat
Ask the affected viewer to check whether they enabled repeat for a video or playlist, where those controls are available. YouTube documents viewer-side loop controls for videos and playlists, but its guidance does not establish that the same toggle controls every kind of live-stream repetition. What to collect if it is still happening
- Whether the repeat appears in the Live Control Room preview, the completed archive, one viewer’s player, or multiple viewers’ players.
- The store service, encoder or production software, and device involved.
- Which content is repeating and whether the repetition occurs at the same point for everyone.
- Whether the next test in Live Control Room shows the intended feed before going live.
These details help distinguish a source or encoder problem from an individual playback issue. The available YouTube guidance does not support buying hardware as a fix for this symptom.
