To change when a YouTube Premiere starts, edit the scheduled video in YouTube Studio: open Content, select the video, go to Edit > Visibility, change the time under Schedule, and save. To stop its scheduled public release, set the video’s visibility to Private and save. YouTube documents the time-change workflow, but its Premiere help page does not describe a dedicated cancellation button; making the video Private is the reasonable route based on YouTube’s general scheduled-publishing instructions, so verify the saved status in Studio.
Reschedule a YouTube Premiere
- Sign in to YouTube Studio.
- In the left menu, select Content.
- Select the scheduled video.
- Choose Edit > Visibility.
- In the scheduling controls, open Schedule, choose the new date and time, then save or schedule the change. If Studio shows EDIT DRAFT, YouTube’s instructions say to ensure the video is Private, select that control, and choose the new time under Schedule.
YouTube documents changing a scheduled video’s publish time through its scheduled video publishing instructions. Labels can vary with the video’s current state, so use the visibility and scheduling controls if the exact wording differs.
Stop the scheduled public release
YouTube’s Premiere instructions do not give a distinct “cancel Premiere” procedure. Its general scheduled-publishing guidance describes the scheduled video as Private before it becomes public and provides visibility settings for managing it. To stop the public release while retaining the upload, change the video’s visibility to Private and save. This is an inference from the general scheduling workflow, not a cancellation step explicitly stated on the Premiere page.
After saving, return to the video in Studio and confirm that its status is Private and that it is no longer scheduled for public release. Do not delete the video unless you intend to remove it entirely; deletion is separate and is not necessary for ordinary rescheduling or stopping publication.

What happens to the Premiere page and reminders?
A scheduled Premiere has a public watch page that viewers can visit before the event to set a reminder, comment, or chat. YouTube’s help pages do not establish whether changing the scheduled time preserves the watch-page URL, retains reminders, or sends viewers a notification. Do not assume any of those outcomes; check the current Studio interface and, if the effect matters, confirm with YouTube support.
YouTube recommends scheduling a Premiere at least 24 hours ahead so audiences around the world have an opportunity to see its thumbnail in their subscriptions feed. During the event, the countdown begins at the scheduled time and viewers watch together in real time. If Studio made the Premiere Private automatically
A Community Guidelines strike can prevent a Premiere from publishing during the penalty period. YouTube says the Premiere is set to Private for that period; the creator must reschedule it after the freeze period ends. This platform restriction is different from manually cancelling or rescheduling the event.
