PRISM Live Studio can connect to YouTube, but its documented support does not establish it as a dependable, unattended 24/7 solution. A continuous broadcast depends on a powered-on computer and stable internet, and PRISM documents connection failures without establishing that it will recover automatically from every interruption. YouTube may allow a stream to continue beyond 12 hours, but its replay may not be archived.
What PRISM Live Studio can—and cannot—establish for 24/7 streaming
PRISM Live Studio supports YouTube through account linking or an RTMP connection. That means you can use it to send a live feed to your channel; it does not, by itself, prove the setup can run unattended around the clock. PRISM’s surfaced documentation describes connection problems, but does not establish guaranteed 24/7 endurance or automatic recovery from every outage. What must stay running
In a computer-based setup, PRISM is part of a chain: the computer must remain powered, the app must keep transmitting, and the network must remain connected. A power cut, network interruption, software problem, or YouTube-side disconnection can interrupt delivery. The official materials cited here do not show that a particular PC, router, or connection guarantees uninterrupted streaming.

- Use a stable internet connection with enough upload capacity for the stream you configure.
- Prefer wired Ethernet over Wi-Fi when continuous transmission matters. PRISM specifically recommends a wired LAN connection for consistent data transmission; Ethernet reduces reliance on a potentially weak wireless link but is not an uptime guarantee. PRISM guide: Disconnected from server
- Keep the PC, network equipment, and PRISM session powered and connected. If the stream must recover unattended, do not assume recovery behavior that PRISM has not documented for your exact setup.
- Consider a UPS if brief power interruptions are a concern. It is an optional resilience measure, not a PRISM requirement or a promise that streaming will continue through an outage.
PRISM’s published computer requirements

Common YouTube connection failures and practical fixes
“Disconnected from server” or error 57995
PRISM identifies local-network instability, insufficient upload speed, weak Wi-Fi, and firewall or third-party security software interference as possible causes of YouTube RTMP disconnections. Check the connection and available upload capacity, switch to wired LAN, and review whether security software or firewall rules are interfering. “Failed to connect to the server” or error 57998
PRISM documents a region-specific issue in which changes involving IPv6 and ISP infrastructure can conflict with the default OBS-based connection method. Its guidance for users in India and Indonesia is to try “IPv4 Only” and enable “network optimizations” in Advanced settings. RTMP works, but app-side chat or viewer information is missing
PRISM says RTMP-link streaming does not show viewer count and chat information in the app. If you need those controls in PRISM, check whether account-based YouTube connection is available for your setup; do not assume RTMP exposes the same in-app information. PRISM Live Studio desktop guide
Will YouTube save a 24/7 PRISM stream?
PRISM’s guidance says YouTube has no maximum live-stream duration, but that does not mean a 24/7 broadcast will be preserved as one complete replay. The same guidance says auto-archiving is supported only for streams under 12 hours and warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be archived at all. If replay preservation matters, plan a separate recording or archive workflow and check current YouTube guidance before relying on automatic archiving. Is PRISM a good fit for a continuous channel?
PRISM is a plausible choice if you want desktop streaming software, can keep the computer and network available, and are prepared to monitor connection problems. The available official information supports YouTube connectivity and provides troubleshooting guidance, but it does not establish unattended recovery from every failure or prove 24/7 endurance. That distinction matters for channels that need a broadcast to continue while nobody is present to intervene.
