Continuous 24/7 streaming is an Enterprise add-on; Vimeo does not publish its price in the materials reviewed, so you’ll need to request a quote and confirm the add-on’s terms. YouTube simulcasting and 24/7 duration are separate capabilities: a plan may send an event to YouTube without allowing that event to run continuously.
Vimeo plan limits for YouTube live streaming
Vimeo’s Help Center says YouTube simulcasting is available with Advanced or Premium, or with Enterprise when the Events feature is included. That answers whether an event can be sent to YouTube; it does not remove the event’s duration limit.

These plan limits and eligibility details are stated by Vimeo in its Live events FAQ and YouTube simulcasting instructions. The $75 figure is the visible Advanced price on Vimeo’s live-streaming page, listed as billed annually; it is not a quote for 24/7 operation. Pricing may differ by geography, billing interval, or promotion.
What to budget for 24/7 operation
For a continuous YouTube stream using Vimeo, ask Vimeo sales or support for an Enterprise quote and specifically confirm the 24/7 add-on’s price, availability, and terms. Vimeo’s public pricing page identifies Enterprise as custom-priced, while the FAQ describes 24/7 streaming as an add-on; neither gives that add-on’s cost. Do not treat Advanced’s listed price as the price of an always-on setup.

Vimeo’s FAQ also describes a 2 TB per month bandwidth policy. It recommends contacting support in advance for very large events, using its own thresholds of 50,000 or more viewers outside the United States, or 100,000–150,000 or more within the United States. Those are Vimeo’s stated escalation thresholds, not independent audience-capacity guarantees.
How Vimeo sends an event to YouTube
Vimeo supports connecting a YouTube account directly or configuring YouTube as a custom RTMP destination. Vimeo says its direct integration supports up to 10 destinations at once; custom RTMP supports up to 20 destinations. These destination limits do not extend an event’s duration.

- Check YouTube eligibility. YouTube requires the account to be verified before it can go live. Make sure the Vimeo plan and, for Enterprise, Events feature support the workflow you intend to use.
- Choose a destination method. For a direct connection, configure YouTube in the Vimeo event’s Destinations settings and enable it before going live. For custom RTMP, copy the RTMP URL and stream key from YouTube Studio into Vimeo.
- Start the event and check YouTube. For a scheduled YouTube stream, Vimeo notes that you may need to select Go live manually in YouTube’s Live Control Room after the stream begins.
- Keep the event description compatible. Vimeo warns that angle brackets in the description may prevent the YouTube stream from working.

Encoder, bitrate, and frame-rate constraints
Vimeo says live streaming requires a reliable internet connection and a camera connected to a supported encoder. YouTube’s encoder guidance recommends RTMPS, the secure extension to RTMP. YouTube lists H.264, H.265/HEVC, or AV1 for video encoding, up to 60 frames per second, CBR bitrate encoding, and a two-second keyframe interval (not over four seconds). Follow the settings appropriate to your chosen resolution and frame rate, and ensure your upload connection can sustain the bitrate. These are YouTube’s platform recommendations, not a guarantee that every Vimeo plan, encoder, or connection supports every mode. See YouTube’s encoder settings guidance.

Vimeo’s own maximum target bitrates are up to 5,000 kbps on Advanced and Premium, and up to 9,000 kbps on Enterprise. Vimeo lists live-event frame-rate support up to 30 fps for Advanced and Premium and up to 60 fps for Enterprise. A YouTube recommendation above those Vimeo limits does not override the Vimeo plan’s ingest constraints; select settings both services and your connection can handle.

Vimeo may fit if you need to produce scheduled live events, simulcast them to YouTube, and can work within the plan’s per-event duration limit. For an uninterrupted 24/7 YouTube channel, the key question is not simply whether Vimeo can send video to YouTube: it is whether Enterprise and the 24/7 add-on are available on terms and at a price that suit your use.
