Yes—one YouTube playlist can contain videos about multiple education subjects. A playlist organizes videos and lets you arrange their order; it is not, by itself, a continuous live broadcast. To keep a channel live around the clock, you need a separate streaming workflow that sends a feed to YouTube.
What a playlist does—and what it does not do
YouTube defines a playlist as a collection of videos and provides controls for adding videos and reordering them. Its playlist guidance does not require every entry to cover the same subject. You can group, for example, history, science and language lessons together, or create separate playlists when viewers need a clearer subject-by-subject route. See YouTube’s playlist instructions.
Adding videos to a playlist does not, according to the official guidance reviewed, make YouTube broadcast those videos continuously as a 24/7 live stream. Playlists organize content for viewers; live streaming transmits a real-time feed to YouTube. YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder and console as ways to stream, and documents encoder setup separately from playlist editing. Its documentation does not confirm a built-in playlist-to-live rotation feature or guarantee that any setup will run uninterrupted around the clock. See YouTube’s live-streaming overview and its encoder streaming guidance.
How to organize lessons from multiple subjects
- Choose a structure for your viewers. Put subjects in one playlist if the stream or collection is intended as a mixed curriculum. Use separate playlists if viewers should be able to find a subject-specific sequence quickly.
- Give the playlist a clear title and description. Signal that it includes more than one subject, and identify the subjects or sequence so viewers know what to expect.
- Add the videos and set their order. YouTube’s playlist controls let you add entries and reorder them. Arrange the sequence deliberately—for example, by subject, lesson level or a repeating learning schedule.
- Check the viewer experience. Review the playlist to confirm its title, contents and order make sense. A playlist is useful for browsing and organization whether or not you also run a live broadcast.
What you need for a continuous live stream
Treat the live broadcast as a separate production task. You need a workflow that sends a real-time feed to YouTube and a way to check the stream in Live Control Room. YouTube’s encoder guidance describes setting up and checking an encoder stream there; adding or rearranging playlist entries is not a substitute for that setup.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For any production method, verify the actual video and audio output and monitor the stream. YouTube notes that network disruption can interrupt streaming and recommends having upload bandwidth headroom; it does not provide a runtime or uptime guarantee for a 24/7 setup in the cited guidance. For general reliability advice, see YouTube’s streaming tips. YouTube also says expensive equipment is not necessary to get started, so the playlist question alone is not a reason to buy hardware.
Use playlists before and after live programming
Playlists can still support a live channel: use them to organize educational videos for viewers, or to collect a stream archive and highlights afterward. YouTube says live-stream archives are uploaded to the channel by default and recommends organizing archives and highlight clips into playlists. That is a post-stream organization workflow, distinct from using a playlist as the source of a continuous live feed. See YouTube’s live-stream promotion guidance.
