1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsTo keep a property tour live on YouTube with OBS, send a camera or prepared video feed from OBS to a YouTube Live event, check the preview and stream health, then select Go Live in YouTube Live Control Room. For a broadcast longer than 12 hours, plan to record locally and upload the archive manually; YouTube’s production guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, but advises teams to record longer streams for upload.
Choose what OBS will show
“Property tour” can mean a fixed live camera, a moving walk-through, or prerecorded footage played as a continuous loop. Decide which you mean before configuring OBS: each needs a different source and framing plan.
- Fixed live view: Add the webcam or camera feed as an OBS source. YouTube lists webcam streaming as a supported method. A stationary camera can show a room or a fixed angle, but is not a substitute for a mobile walk-through.
- Moving live walk-through: Use a camera setup that can move through the property, and check that its feed reaches OBS. Preview the camera’s movement and audio in the intended scenes before broadcasting. The necessary camera and connection depend on your production setup.
- Prerecorded tour: Add the video as an OBS media source and verify playback, sound and transitions. If it must repeat, test the repeat behavior before going live. The OBS and YouTube guidance cited here does not establish a particular continuous-playback plugin or automated handoff method.
Prepare a scene for the tour and, if useful, a title card or holding scene. OBS recommends testing scenes and settings before the first live broadcast. OBS Studio Overview Guide
Set the OBS stream quality
Choose resolution, frame rate and bitrate for the connection and computer you will actually use. Higher settings are not better if the encoder or upload connection cannot sustain them; a stable stream is preferable to an intermittently stalled high-resolution one.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| H.264 output | YouTube recommended bitrate |
|---|---|
| 720p at 30 fps | 6 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 12 Mbps |
These are YouTube’s encoder recommendations, not a guarantee that a particular network or computer can sustain them. YouTube documents RTMP/RTMPS, H.264, H.265 and AV1 video, CBR, AAC or MP3 audio, frame rates up to 60 fps, and a recommended two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds). It recommends RTMPS. Check the current guidance before configuring a production encoder: Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions.
Run a speed test and leave headroom rather than setting the stream bitrate equal to the connection’s best-case upload result. Test with movement and audio similar to the real tour, then watch OBS’s dropped-frame indicators and YouTube’s stream health. OBS Help Portal

Create the YouTube event and connect OBS
- Open YouTube Live Control Room and create or schedule the event. Enter the title, description and privacy setting appropriate for the intended audience.
- Copy the event’s stream key into OBS’s streaming settings, along with the server details shown for that event. Match the key to the correct event and treat it like a password; anyone with access to it may be able to send a feed to the event.
- Start streaming from OBS. YouTube’s production workflow has the encoder send the feed first, so the event can receive it and show a preview.
- Check the YouTube preview for the correct scene, framing, audio and stream health. OBS sending video does not itself make the event public.
- Press “Go Live” in Live Control Room when the preview is correct and you are ready to begin the broadcast.
See Google’s Full Live Production guide and YouTube’s Get started with live streaming help page for platform workflow details.
Test the tour before opening it to viewers
- Check the live preview from a separate viewer device, not only the OBS canvas.
- Confirm that the whole room or route fits the frame and that speech or ambient audio is audible without distortion.
- Test representative movement; a mostly static test does not reveal the same problems as a camera moving through rooms.
- Watch for OBS dropped frames and YouTube stream-health warnings. OBS says increasing dropped frames or a yellow or red connection indicator can signal an unstable connection to the streaming service or a bitrate the connection cannot maintain.
- Assign someone to monitor the feed, audio, network and chat during a public tour, particularly if the camera operator cannot watch the broadcast controls.
Plan for long broadcasts, archives and vertical video
For broadcasts longer than 12 hours
Do not rely on one unlimited YouTube replay. Google’s production guide says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; for streams longer than 12 hours, it advises the production team to make a recording and upload it manually if an archive is needed. Plan local recording, available storage and how you will divide or hand off a long tour. Full Live Production

If you want both horizontal and vertical streams
YouTube supports horizontal and vertical streaming. Its documented dual-stream setup uses a shared stream URL and chat, and the vertical format cannot be added after the stream begins. A wide room walk-through may crop poorly into a vertical frame, so preview both layouts before starting if you intend to use dual stream. YouTube notes that vertical streams may be found through the Shorts feed, while desktop and TV audiences use the horizontal version. See Get started with live streaming.
Get permission and protect private details
Google’s production guidance calls for necessary clearances covering the live stream, rebroadcast and on-demand audio or video. For a property tour, obtain applicable permission from the owner and occupants, and review what the camera or microphone reveals: personal photographs, documents, security details and conversations may be visible or audible. These are practical privacy considerations, not jurisdiction-specific legal advice; requirements vary by location.

Troubleshoot common OBS and YouTube problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| YouTube shows no preview | OBS is not sending to the selected event, or the key or server details do not match. | Confirm the event is active, recheck its stream key and server details in OBS, then start the encoder and wait for the preview. |
| The event is receiving video but viewers cannot watch it | The event has not been started in Live Control Room. | Check the preview and select “Go Live” when ready; sending from OBS alone does not publish the event. |
| OBS reports dropped frames or YouTube stream health worsens | The upload connection may be unstable or unable to sustain the configured bitrate. | Lower the bitrate or output quality, check the connection, and repeat a representative test before the public run. |
| The picture is too soft or movement looks poor | The selected resolution or frame rate may not suit the source, or the encoder settings may be unsuitable. | Verify OBS output settings and test the actual tour movement at the intended quality. Choose a sustainable setting using YouTube’s recommendations as a guide, not a promise. |
| The tour or audio disappears during a long run | The source, playback, camera connection or monitoring may have stopped. | Test the complete source path before broadcasting and have someone monitor it. For an archive beyond YouTube’s under-12-hour automatic-archive guidance, make a local recording for manual upload. |
Or let it run in the cloud
If the tour is prerecorded footage and you want a continuously looping YouTube stream without keeping a home computer running, StreamNeo is a cloud option: upload the video, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. It plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a camera feed. Your computer and home connection do not have to stay on; it supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream, and the first day is free with no card. The monthly option is $9.99 per month. Start the free first day with StreamNeo.

Can I stream a property tour from a webcam?
YouTube supports webcam streaming, which suits a fixed viewpoint. A moving walk-through needs a camera setup that can move through the property and deliver its feed to OBS.
Can I add a vertical version after the stream has started?
No. YouTube’s documented dual-stream setup requires planning the vertical format before the broadcast begins.
