You can loop a prerecorded meditation video on YouTube Live from an India-located VPS by enabling live streaming on your channel, copying the current ingestion URL and stream key from YouTube Live Control Room, and running a video encoder on the VPS. Use RTMPS when available, follow YouTube’s CBR and keyframe guidance, and test the VPS’s sustained upload and YouTube stream health before relying on it. The VPS can host the file and encoder, but keeping the stream running continuously requires you to manage the process, reconnects and monitoring.
What you need before you start
- A YouTube channel with live streaming enabled. YouTube says first-time enablement can take up to 24 hours, so do this ahead of your planned broadcast. YouTube’s live streaming setup guidance.
- A Linux VPS in India with the meditation video stored on it and enough sustained outbound bandwidth for your chosen stream settings. No specific India VPS plan or provider route to YouTube is established here; test the server you actually intend to use.
- An encoder capable of looping the video and sending it to YouTube using RTMP or RTMPS.
- A video you have permission to stream, plus audio and visual settings that suit the meditation content.
Enable YouTube Live and get the stream details
- Sign in to YouTube Studio and enable live streaming if you have not already done so. Allow up to 24 hours for first-time activation, according to YouTube.
- Open Live Control Room and create a new stream or select an existing one.
- Copy the server URL and stream key shown for that stream. Enter the current values into your encoder; do not rely on an endpoint copied from an old tutorial.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Anyone who obtains it may be able to send a stream to your channel. Keep it out of public scripts, screenshots and logs, and replace it in YouTube if it is exposed.
YouTube’s encoder workflow is to supply those Live Control Room details to the encoder and start sending video. Its encoder documentation recommends RTMPS where supported. Google’s developer guide specifies an rtmps ingestion URL and port 443 for an RTMPS connection. Use the endpoint YouTube currently displays for your stream. YouTube Help; Google’s RTMPS guide.
Choose resolution, bitrate and keyframes
Set the encoder to constant bitrate (CBR) and a two-second keyframe interval. YouTube says not to let keyframes fall more than four seconds apart. For H.264, YouTube’s published recommendations include these bitrate values:
| Output setting | YouTube-recommended H.264 bitrate |
|---|---|
| 1080p at 30 fps | 10 Mbps |
| 720p at 60 fps | 6 Mbps |
| 240p–720p at 30 fps | 4 Mbps |
These are YouTube encoder recommendations, not a VPS plan specification or a guarantee that a server can sustain the setting. Measure sustained upload from the VPS and leave headroom rather than targeting the full measured capacity. If upload varies or the stream health indicator reports problems, lower the resolution or bitrate and test again. YouTube transcodes incoming streams into output formats for viewers, but that does not remove the need for a stable feed from your encoder. YouTube’s encoder settings and stream health guidance.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For India-specific context, the National Informatics Centre’s webcast service page advises checking outbound access for RTMP port 1935 and gives 2–4 Mbps dedicated bandwidth per stream for its own webcast service. That is NIC guidance for its service, not a YouTube bitrate recommendation. For YouTube, use YouTube’s encoder settings and verify the route and egress from your chosen VPS. NIC webcast services.
Put the video on the VPS and run a looping encoder
Upload the finished video to the VPS, then configure an encoder process to repeat the file and send its output to the server URL and stream key from Live Control Room. The specific command depends on your encoder, file format, audio requirements and operating system. The available technical guidance does not establish a tested FFmpeg command, Linux distribution or service-manager configuration, so verify implementation syntax for your environment rather than pasting an untested command into production.

Before broadcasting continuously, confirm that the encoder actually repeats the file without a gap or failed restart, that audio and video remain synchronized, and that the stream appears correctly in YouTube’s preview. Test from the VPS itself; local computer upload speed does not describe the VPS’s connection to YouTube.
Test, start and monitor the stream
- Start the encoder and check the YouTube Live Control Room preview and stream health before making the stream public or promoting it.
- Confirm the selected resolution, frame rate, audio, and bitrate are stable on the actual VPS connection. Reduce the target if the server cannot sustain it.
- When the test looks right, start the live event in YouTube’s controls as required for the stream you created.
- For a long-running broadcast, arrange process supervision, reconnect handling, alerts and periodic checks of the YouTube preview. These are operational responsibilities of a self-managed VPS; VPS hosting alone does not guarantee that an encoder process will run forever or recover from every interruption.
- To stop, stop the encoder’s outgoing content. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; do not assume the same automatic archiving for sessions of 12 hours or longer. YouTube Help.
Copyright and monetization are separate from encoding
A technically valid stream is not proof that the video is permitted, eligible for monetization, or compliant with every rule for your channel. Confirm that you hold the necessary rights to the meditation video, music, images and other material, and check YouTube’s current content and monetization policies for your specific channel and use. YouTube’s encoder instructions explain how to send a stream; they do not guarantee policy approval or monetization for continuously looped prerecorded content. YouTube channel monetization policies.

- You cannot start a live stream: first-time live streaming may still be activating; YouTube says enablement can take up to 24 hours. Confirm the channel is enabled before troubleshooting the encoder.
- YouTube does not receive the feed: check that the encoder uses the current server URL and stream key from Live Control Room, that the key has not been mistyped or replaced, and that the VPS can reach the selected endpoint. Prefer the RTMPS endpoint when available.
- The stream is unstable or health warnings appear: test sustained VPS upload, reduce bitrate or resolution, and leave bandwidth headroom. YouTube recommends testing stream behavior rather than assuming a nominal server bandwidth figure will be sustained.
- The loop stops after a file ends or the encoder exits: verify the encoder’s repeat behavior and configure supervision and reconnect handling for your chosen Linux environment. YouTube’s ingestion guidance does not configure a VPS process manager for you.
- Video appears but audio is missing or wrong: check the file’s audio track and encoder output in a short private or unlisted test before relying on a long session.
- The stream key may have been exposed: replace or reset it in YouTube’s live settings and update the encoder with the new value.
