Windows Errors? Fix Them Before They Spread
Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallCrashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?
Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteIf the screen goes black at every episode change, check the playlist handoff first: make sure the next file is ready and the playout software is set to continue or transition when the current episode ends. A black screen that appears mid-episode or unpredictably points instead to the media file, encoder, connection, platform, or a viewer’s playback setup. Diagnose where and when it happens before changing settings.
First, identify when the screen goes black
Note whether the problem occurs only between episodes, at the same point within one episode, unpredictably across several episodes, or only for some viewers. Ask affected viewers whether audio continues, whether other streams play normally, and what device and network they use. A repeatable gap at the same handoff makes playlist readiness and transition behavior the first things to inspect. A blackout during a clip, or reports limited to particular viewers or devices, calls for a broader check.
- Only at episode boundaries: inspect the playlist, media readiness, clip end point, and transition behavior.
- During an episode or at inconsistent times: check the source file, encoder, upload connection, and platform status.
- Only for certain viewers: compare devices, apps, networks, and playback quality before changing the production setup.
Fix a predictable gap at the episode handoff
Prepare the next episode before the current one ends
- Confirm the next episode is in the correct playlist or media bin and is ready to play before going live.
- Check that the file has finished uploading and processing. Do not assume that a file is ready just because it appears in a list.
- Inspect the outgoing clip’s end point and the software’s behavior there. The next item should start as intended rather than leaving the output paused or stopped.
- Run a test event and watch a complete episode-to-episode handoff, including the final frames of one clip and the first frames of the next.
The control names vary by product. In Livestream Studio, Pause Playback stops at the OUT point without transitioning; Continue Playback automatically transitions at that point. Those labels describe Livestream Studio, not a universal setting. See Livestream Studio’s media playback settings and find the equivalent end-of-clip behavior in your own software.
If your workflow permits it, prepare an appropriate holding visual for a brief gap. It can avoid displaying an unintended black output while you investigate, but it does not fix a missing transition or an unready file.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Check the episode files and format compatibility
- Play each source file locally from beginning to end. Look and listen for missing video or audio, damaged frames, freezes, or interruptions.
- Verify that upload and processing are complete in the playout service.
- Check the actual service’s supported codec, resolution, frame rate, and scan format, along with any project settings that affect playback.
- Test the entire playlist, not just a short section of one episode.
A file and project mismatch may trigger transcoding or cause playback trouble. Livestream Studio lists resolution, frame rate, scan type, and codec among the compatibility dimensions to check. Use the documentation for the software you actually use rather than assuming one format is required everywhere.
OneStream Live’s prerecorded-stream troubleshooting guide recommends MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, constant 30 or 60 FPS, and 720p or 1080p for its own workflow. Those are OneStream-specific recommendations, not universal requirements for every streaming service or YouTube setup. Its checklist also recommends running a test event. See OneStream Live’s troubleshooting guide.

If blackouts happen during episodes, check the stream path
When the failure is not tied to episode boundaries, inspect the encoder and connection as well as the media. Review available encoder metrics and platform status, then compare the time of a reported blackout with the stream logs.
Check keyframes against your platform’s guidance
Keyframe interval advice differs by service, so do not apply a setting from one provider as a universal fix. Cloudflare’s troubleshooting guidance, last updated July 30, 2026, describes a 2–8 second interval range, suggests 4 seconds as a starting point, and recommends adjusting based on observed latency or buffering. Flowplayer’s documentation recommends two seconds for its service. Follow the current guidance for your own platform and test changes in a controlled event rather than combining recommendations indiscriminately.

Cloudflare also asks operators to review upload-to-duration telemetry. It states that a brief delay between encoder connection and stream playback is normal; a delayed start is not by itself proof of a failed episode handoff. Read Cloudflare’s live-stream troubleshooting guidance and Flowplayer’s livestream troubleshooting documentation for their respective service-specific checks.
Test the upload connection
Cloudflare’s 2026 troubleshooting guidance uses 20 Mbps upload speed as a point below which common checks include restarting the router, trying Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi, or contacting the ISP. This is Cloudflare’s recommendation in its troubleshooting context, not a universal minimum for every stream. If your logs or a wired-versus-wireless test implicate an unstable Wi-Fi uplink, try Ethernet before buying new equipment. A cable cannot fix a playlist that pauses at the end of each clip.

Rule out a viewer-side playback problem
Ask an affected viewer to try another supported device or network, adjust playback quality if the option is available, and restart or update the app or device. YouTube’s viewer guidance recommends these checks for playback issues. If the problem occurs only on a particular device or connection while the stream is normal elsewhere, investigate that playback path separately. See YouTube’s troubleshooting guidance.
YouTube’s guidance for Primetime Channels on TV also explains that reducing broadcast delay leaves less buffer and makes interruptions more likely. That applies to that viewing context; it does not explain a producer-side black frame that recurs at every episode change.

Use a repeatable pre-broadcast handoff check
- Every episode plays locally from start to finish.
- All files are uploaded and processed, and the format is supported by the chosen playout software.
- The playlist order is correct and the next episode is ready before its turn.
- The end-of-clip behavior is configured to transition rather than stop or pause.
- A test event has confirmed the handoff in the actual output.
- If faults occur mid-episode, encoder and connection checks are based on the platform’s own recommendations.

- Nothing has to stay on at home: the stream runs in the cloud, so your computer can be off.
- Any quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot; videos stream as uploaded, without re-encoding or quality tiers.
- Automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
- The first day is free with no card required.
