Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallTo make OBS try to reconnect after a brief interruption, open Settings → Output, enable Automatically Reconnect, and set a Retry Delay and Maximum Retries. This restores OBS’s encoder connection when possible; it does not guarantee YouTube will keep the same broadcast live. After a reconnect, check the stream in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and confirm the viewer-facing page plays.
Set OBS to reconnect after a disconnect
- Open OBS settings. In OBS Studio, select Settings → Output.
- Enable reconnect attempts. Turn on Automatically Reconnect.
- Choose retry behavior. Set Retry Delay and Maximum Retries for your setup. The maximum controls how many attempts OBS makes; setting it to zero disables reconnecting. OBS increases the time between successive retries by doubling it, rather than retrying at a fixed interval. There is no universal retry count established as a YouTube recommendation. OBS documents its streaming connection behavior here.
- Save and test. Apply the settings and test the stream before relying on them for an unattended bhajan broadcast.
These settings make OBS retry its connection to the streaming service. They cannot repair a continuing internet outage, and an OBS reconnection does not by itself prove the YouTube broadcast has resumed.
Understand YouTube’s separate auto-start and auto-stop controls
In YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room, inspect the stream’s Auto-start & auto-stop options. These are broadcast controls, not the OBS reconnect setting. YouTube says that when these options are enabled, streaming can be started or stopped from the encoder. Check how they are configured before depending on a reconnect to restore the event. See YouTube’s live stream settings guidance.
Verify that viewers can hear and see the stream
- Check OBS for a successful reconnection.
- Open the Live Control Room and confirm YouTube is receiving the encoder feed and showing a healthy preview.
- Check the public or unlisted watch page to make sure the broadcast is accessible and playing. Listen for audio and watch the video; a connected encoder alone does not establish that playback is working.
YouTube’s live-streaming guidance recommends checking the preview, confirming access on channel and watch pages, and monitoring audio and video during the event. Review YouTube’s live streaming tips.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If OBS does not reconnect
- OBS keeps retrying: Check whether the internet connection has recovered and whether OBS reports a connection. Retry attempts cannot overcome an ongoing network or service problem.
- YouTube is not receiving the encoder feed: In Live Control Room, copy the stream key and paste it into the encoder, then try connecting again. If your encoder connects through account login rather than a stream key, YouTube advises contacting that software’s support team. See YouTube’s encoder troubleshooting steps.
- The feed returns but the watch page is not playing: Check the broadcast status and viewer-facing page in Live Control Room rather than assuming the original event resumed.
- The primary encoder or connection has failed: A backup encoder is a separate, more involved recovery option. It requires a second encoder setup and should be tested in advance.
For higher continuity, test a backup encoder
YouTube recommends testing encoder failover by stopping the primary encoder or unplugging its Ethernet cable, then confirming that the player switches to the backup. That test verifies the behavior of your setup; do not assume viewers will experience uninterrupted playback without testing it. Consider whether the backup has an independent encoder and network path, and confirm its compatibility and switchover behavior. YouTube’s live streaming tips explain the failover test.
Keep a local recording of long bhajan streams
YouTube can automatically archive streams that run for less than 12 hours, but a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured. YouTube recommends recording a local archive as a backup. For a long or unattended broadcast, do not rely on YouTube’s archive as the only copy. Read YouTube’s archive guidance.
