To keep an Indian music YouTube stream running as songs advance, put the tracks in an OBS Studio VLC Video playlist, keep the streaming scene and encoder output active, and rehearse the joins with the actual files before going live. Enable Loop Playlist to restart the set when it ends, or Shuffle Playlist to vary the order. OBS documents playlist playback and these controls, but does not promise gapless joins or automatic audio crossfades.
Clear the rights for the recordings before launch. A playlist can keep playback moving; it cannot prevent a copyright match or make an unlicensed recording safe to broadcast.
Set up a song playlist that keeps the stream running
1. Confirm your files and install VLC
OBS’s VLC Video source needs VLC installed. OBS media sources can play audio and video files, and its documentation names formats such as MP3, AAC, OGG, WAV, MP4, MOV, and MKV. Compatibility depends on the computer and setup, so treat those formats as examples rather than a guarantee that every file will play reliably.

Add the music videos or audio files you want in the playlist and arrange them in the intended sequence.

Enable Loop Playlist if the list should restart after its final item.

Enable Shuffle Playlist only if you want the items randomized rather than played in listed order.

Leave the playlist source in the scene that is being sent to YouTube. When the source advances to the next item, the scene and encoder output can remain active; you do not need to switch scenes just to change songs. Check that the source is visible and its audio reaches the stream mix.

Make song changes feel intentional
Playlist continuity is not an audio crossfade
A playlist can advance from one item to the next without you manually changing scenes. That alone does not establish that the join will be gapless or that one track will fade into the next. OBS’s VLC playlist documentation describes playback, loop, and shuffle controls, not a guaranteed gapless transition or per-track audio crossfade.
For a curated devotional, bhajan, kirtan, Gurbani, or film-music sequence, use a fixed order and inspect the ends and beginnings of neighboring tracks. If you prefer variety, shuffle the playlist, but remember that the resulting sequence may not preserve musical or thematic flow.
Scene Fade and Cut affect the picture
OBS provides Fade and Cut scene transitions, with adjustable duration. These change the visual scene; they should not be described as audio crossfades between playlist tracks. See the OBS Studio Overview Guide for scene-transition controls.

Run a private or unlisted technical rehearsal using the intended playlist and encoder setup. YouTube’s encoder workflow is designed for production that may include overlays and hardware; a rehearsal lets you find file and output problems before relying on an always-on stream.

Listen to the first-to-second track join and several later joins for silence, abrupt cuts, or unexpected level changes.

Check the end of the playlist and confirm whether loop restart behaves as you intend.

Watch the OBS audio meters and listen to the YouTube playback for excessive peaks or unexpectedly quiet tracks.

Confirm that the video or audio format plays on the actual machine and that the encoder stays connected while items advance.

Check YouTube live eligibility and music permissions
Make sure the channel can go live
YouTube says live streaming requires a verified channel and no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. Check eligibility and configure the encoder through YouTube’s live-streaming setup guidance.

Clear the actual recordings for broadcast
For Indian film songs and other protected recordings, confirm permission for the specific recording, live broadcast, territories, and monetization plans. YouTube for Artists recommends coordinating with a label or distributor when using copyright-protected music. A consumer subscription for listening should not be treated as permission to rebroadcast.
YouTube’s live Content ID matching guidance says a match may trigger a warning, then replace the stream with a static image and no sound, and may ultimately terminate the stream if matching continues. Lowering the volume or changing scenes does not resolve rights issues. Keep a permitted fallback track or slate ready, and consult the current platform guidance: YouTube for Artists: Going live for music channels and YouTube Content ID matching on live streams. A track does not play

Confirm VLC is installed and that the item is present in the VLC Video source playlist.

Test the file on the same computer. A format listed in OBS documentation is not a guarantee that a particular file or system configuration will work.

Check that the source is in the live scene and that its audio is routed to the stream mix.

The stream pauses or stops at the end
Check whether Loop Playlist is enabled. Without it, the list is not configured to restart after its final item. Rehearse the loop restart rather than assuming the boundary will be seamless.
The song join has silence or sounds abrupt
Inspect the ends and starts of the files and test the join in the actual playlist. OBS documents playlist controls, not gapless playback or automatic track crossfading; a scene Fade will alter the picture, not fix the audio join.
YouTube interrupts the broadcast
Check the Live Control Room and stream status, then review whether the channel meets live eligibility requirements and whether a rights match has occurred. If music is matched, use only recordings for which you have appropriate broadcast permission; changing the scene or turning the song down is not a rights remedy.
