You can use FFmpeg to loop a prepared playlist of Indian music and send it to YouTube, but FFmpeg alone does not make a stream reliably 24/7. You need music cleared for continuous live use, an eligible YouTube channel, a computer or server that stays online, a working ingest connection, and a plan to detect and recover from failures.

What you need before starting

  • Music with explicit live-stream rights. Confirm that the license covers continuous live broadcasting, your intended territories, monetization, and any archived playback. Permission to download or use a track in an ordinary video is not automatically permission to broadcast it continuously.
  • A visual source. A still image, designed visual, or visualizer can accompany the audio. Check that you have rights to that material too, and confirm the destination accepts the audio/video combination you plan to send.
  • A continuously running host and network. A local computer must remain powered on, connected, and able to run FFmpeg. A rented server is another option, but it also requires setup and ongoing monitoring. FFmpeg documentation explains media processing and streaming workflows; it does not prescribe a particular computer or minimum hardware tier. FFmpeg documentation
  • A YouTube channel enabled for live streaming. YouTube’s current getting-started guidance says the channel must be verified and must not have a live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days. Check your own YouTube Studio account because platform requirements can change. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming
  • An ingest URL and private stream key. Get these from YouTube’s live control room when setting up the stream. Treat the key like a password: do not publish it, include it in screenshots, or commit it to a public script repository.

Clear music rights before building the stream

YouTube’s livestream terms say content providers represent that they have the necessary rights for live content on Google services worldwide, including music rights from artists, record labels, publishers, and other royalty participants. The scope of any permission depends on the rights and territories actually cleared. YouTube Livestream terms and conditions

YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. It may replace or interrupt a stream and may terminate it if the content remains. Even a licensed track may require the rights owner to allowlist your channel so that YouTube’s systems recognize the permission. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams

Creator Music is not a shortcut for this setup: YouTube’s FAQ says its licensing does not support live content. YouTube points creators toward original music, the Audio Library, or third-party music whose license terms have been checked for the intended use. A label such as “free” does not by itself establish permission for a continuous livestream. YouTube Help: Creator Music FAQ

Elebase USB to USB C Adapter for iPhone 18 Pro Max,USBC Car Charger Adapter
  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

This is not a determination of Indian or other local licensing law. Check the actual license and applicable requirements with the rights holder or a qualified adviser, especially when the stream is monetized or available in multiple territories.

Prepare a playlist and visual source

Check the media before looping it

Make a playlist of files you are authorized to stream. For a simple test, use one file; for a long-running channel, a maintained playlist makes it easier to replace tracks whose rights change or whose files fail. FFmpeg can read many formats, but files with different codecs, sample rates, frame rates, or dimensions may need different handling. Decide whether to encode the inputs to a consistent output or copy compatible streams without re-encoding.

Choose how to provide video

If your music files contain audio only, pair them with a visual source suitable for the destination, such as a still image or a visualizer. A still image can be looped as a video input while audio comes from the playlist, but the precise input and mapping options depend on your files and FFmpeg build. Verify that the output contains both audio and video before starting a public broadcast.

Configure FFmpeg and YouTube

  1. Enable live streaming and create a broadcast in YouTube Studio. Follow the current live setup flow in your account and select the stream settings appropriate to the planned output.
  2. Copy the ingest URL and stream key securely. Keep the key out of public command examples and logs. If it is exposed, reset it in YouTube Studio.
  3. Build and test the FFmpeg input sequence. FFmpeg’s -stream_loop option can repeat an input; it addresses repetition, not network recovery. For a playlist, use an input method suited to the playlist format and test the end-to-end transition between tracks.
  4. Set the output format and codecs to match the destination. Choose audio/video codecs, container, resolution, frame rate, and encoding or stream-copy behavior based on the actual input files and YouTube’s current live encoder guidance. Do not assume one command fits every playlist: the correct stream mapping and encoding depend on whether the files include video and whether their parameters are compatible.
  5. Send the output to YouTube’s ingest endpoint. Use the private stream key in the output URL or an appropriately protected configuration. Confirm that the live control room receives the expected audio and video before making the broadcast public.
  6. Test the full loop and the archive behavior. Let the playlist pass its end, verify that it returns to the beginning as intended, and check the live stream and any resulting archive. A successful short test does not establish uninterrupted 24/7 operation.

FFmpeg’s manuals document input looping, RTMP output, and a FIFO muxer example with recovery behavior. The protocol manual also documents reconnect options for certain network protocols; those options are protocol-specific and do not guarantee that a reconnected output will recreate a YouTube session in every failure case. Keep the stream running and recover from failures

A loop keeps media repeating while the process and connection work; it does not keep the host powered, repair a failed network, or guarantee that YouTube accepts a reconnection. For a 24/7 channel, treat FFmpeg as the media engine rather than a complete uptime service.

  • Run FFmpeg under process supervision. Use a service manager or other supervisor to restart the process after a crash, and test that the restart uses the correct playlist and protected key.
  • Keep logs and monitor the actual broadcast. Watch for process exits, repeated connection errors, missing audio/video, and a YouTube stream that has stopped despite FFmpeg still running.
  • Use recovery options deliberately. FFmpeg’s output FIFO recovery example and protocol-specific reconnect options may help with some output failures, but test the exact protocol and failure mode. They cannot make a host or internet connection infallible.
  • Plan for session-level failures. A local output reconnection may not restore the YouTube live session. Check the control room and have a documented restart procedure for both FFmpeg and the platform broadcast.

Troubleshoot common failures

Symptom Likely cause What to check or do
YouTube does not show the stream Wrong ingest URL or key, the broadcast is not configured, or the channel is not enabled for live streaming. Recheck the current Studio stream details, confirm channel eligibility, and replace an exposed key.
The stream starts but has no sound The selected input has no audio, audio was not mapped, or the files use incompatible parameters. Inspect the input streams and output mapping; test with one known-good authorized audio file before restoring the playlist.
The stream starts but has no picture An audio-only input was sent without a video source, or video was not mapped. Add and map a valid visual input, then verify the resulting output in YouTube’s preview.
Playback stops at the end of a track or file The input sequence is not configured to repeat or the playlist reaches its end. Test the loop behavior with the selected input method; do not confuse input looping with reconnect handling.
FFmpeg reconnects but YouTube remains offline The output connection recovered but the platform session did not. Check YouTube Studio, then follow the tested procedure for restarting the broadcast and FFmpeg process.
Audio is replaced, interrupted, or the live stream ends YouTube detected third-party content, or the rights owner has not allowlisted the channel. Review the track’s live-use and territory permissions and contact the rights holder about allowlisting where applicable.
The process is running but the channel is offline The host, network, output path, or platform session has failed independently of playlist looping. Check host power and connectivity, FFmpeg logs, and YouTube’s live control room; use monitoring and a tested recovery procedure.

Account for the cost and operational trade-offs

A self-managed FFmpeg setup requires a computer or server that remains available, a reliable network path, and time to configure monitoring and recovery. The sources do not establish a minimum hardware specification, bandwidth target, or expected 24/7 reliability, so validate performance with your own media and connection rather than relying on a universal number. A local machine gives you direct control but must stay on; a rented server moves the host off-site but still leaves configuration, rights, logs, and recovery to you.
