Yes. If you have an active, paid membership to a YouTube creator’s channel, YouTube automatically charges you at the start of each monthly billing cycle. That rule applies even if you mainly watch the creator’s livestreams: YouTube’s billing guidance concerns channel memberships, not a separate livestream-membership subscription.
What renews—and what does not
A paid channel membership renews monthly while it remains active. It is a membership to the creator’s channel, which may provide perks such as members-only content; watching a livestream by itself does not create a separate membership billing category. This is also different from YouTube Premium and YouTube Music Premium, which are separate subscriptions. YouTube’s channel-membership refund guidance distinguishes those products.
How to check your next billing date
- Go to youtube.com/paid_memberships and sign in to the Google account that holds the membership.
- Find the creator’s membership to see its billing information and available management controls. YouTube directs members to this page to check the next billing date.
The price and payment details can vary by country or region and by the platform used to join. Use the information shown in your account rather than assuming one universal price or billing date.
How to stop the next charge
- On a computer, open YouTube and sign in to the account with the membership.
- Find the membership and select Manage membership.
- Choose the cancellation option and follow the prompts until YouTube shows confirmation. The Android help guidance also describes canceling through the channel’s See perks or settings, or through Purchases and memberships.
After cancellation, YouTube says it will not charge you again unless you reactivate. Perks generally remain available until the end of the current billing period. Exceptions: a paused or terminated channel
If the creator pauses memberships
When a channel is paused, it cannot monetize memberships or deliver membership perks. If the channel is unpaused within your billing cycle, normal recurring billing continues. If the billing cycle ends while the channel is still paused, some memberships may end, and you may need to join again. YouTube explains this in its guidance for channel memberships.
If the channel loses membership access
If the channel is terminated or loses access to the memberships feature, YouTube says membership payments and perks end immediately. Check your paid-memberships page for the status shown on your account.

About livestreams and channel memberships
If you joined a creator’s channel because you watch its livestreams, the recurring charge is still for the channel membership. YouTube’s cited billing guidance does not establish a different renewal schedule for livestream viewers. For the narrow question of whether that membership renews, the key details are its active status and the next billing date shown in your account.
