Best Cloud Services for Running a 24/7 YouTube Music Stream

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a prerecorded music stream that should stay live on YouTube, StreamNeo is the simplest option in this comparison: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and let it loop from the cloud. It supports uploaded quality up to 4K at 60 fps for one flat price per slot, with a free first day. YouTube also identifies Gyre as a cloud service for 24/7 prerecorded streams; AWS offers a more configurable cloud video architecture that requires more setup. These options are not directly comparable on price or reliability from the available published documentation.

Best options for a 24/7 YouTube music stream

These choices suit different needs: a managed service that loops uploaded video, or a cloud architecture that you configure and operate. In every case, confirm how the service sends its output to YouTube, what it does after a disconnect, and what it costs for your expected workload.

  1. StreamNeo — best for a straightforward cloud loop. It runs uploaded videos or playlists continuously to YouTube from the cloud, so a home computer does not need to stay on. Any uploaded quality up to 4K at 60 fps uses the same per-slot pricing.
  2. Gyre — a named option for prerecorded 24/7 video. YouTube’s verified encoder page describes Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 live streaming of prerecorded videos. Confirm its current YouTube workflow, pricing, availability, and recovery behavior directly with the provider.
  3. AWS Elemental MediaLive with supporting AWS services — for a configurable cloud pipeline. YouTube lists MediaLive among verified encoders, while AWS documents a 24×7 channel architecture using MediaLive and services such as MediaStore or MediaPackage and CloudFront. This is an architecture to configure, not evidence of a turnkey music-looping workflow.

Amazon IVS is not a default substitute for a YouTube relay. AWS documents IVS ingest, transcoding, delivery, and playback for IVS applications, including a redundancy pattern for continuous streaming. That documentation does not establish IVS as a direct or simple way to send a prerecorded feed to YouTube.

What to compare before choosing

  • Workflow: Does the service loop existing uploaded video, or must you assemble and maintain an encoding and delivery pipeline?
  • YouTube output: Confirm it sends to YouTube’s ingest using the stream URL and key, and establish how the key is stored and managed.
  • Recovery and monitoring: Ask how reconnects work, whether redundancy is included, what alerts are available, and whether an operator must intervene. Do not assume one platform’s redundancy documentation applies to another service’s YouTube output.
  • Format compatibility: Verify protocol, video and audio codecs, resolution, frame rate, bitrate, and keyframe interval against YouTube’s current encoder requirements.
  • Recording and archive: A continuous live broadcast is not necessarily a complete saved replay. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; plan separate recording or shorter sessions if you need a full-day archive.
  • Rights: Make sure you have the necessary rights to the music and that any Content ID arrangements are in place before broadcasting.
  • Total cost: For a configurable cloud pipeline, account for encoding or compute, storage, delivery or egress, redundancy, and support. The cited official materials do not provide directly comparable current totals for Gyre and AWS, so check provider pricing or request a quote.

StreamNeo: managed YouTube looping from the cloud

StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded recordings or playlists. Add your YouTube stream key once and start the stream; StreamNeo loops the content in the cloud. The service is for YouTube and plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting from a camera.

Gyre: a cloud option YouTube identifies for prerecorded streams

YouTube’s verified encoder page describes Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 live streaming of prerecorded videos, making it a relevant option when the source is an existing music-video loop. The cited description does not establish its current price, regional availability, failover guarantees, or a particular end-to-end workflow. Check those points with Gyre before choosing it.

AWS: more control, more architecture to operate

YouTube lists AWS Elemental MediaLive as a verified encoder. AWS’s architecture guidance describes a 24×7 live channel using MediaLive for encoding and MediaStore or MediaPackage with CloudFront for storage, packaging, and delivery. That guidance establishes a cloud video architecture, but not a ready-made prerecorded playlist service or a directly comparable total price. Before building it for YouTube, verify the output path, operational responsibilities, and ongoing costs.

AWS IVS has a separate role. Its documentation describes redundant ingest that can support uninterrupted 24/7 streaming even though an individual publisher is limited to 24 hours; the two streams need matching encoding parameters. These details concern the documented IVS setup, not a YouTube relay. AWS also notes that IVS low-latency streaming does not support audio-only input.

Prepare YouTube and the stream before going live

  1. Enable live streaming in advance. YouTube requires a verified channel with no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours.
  2. Choose a service that can send a compatible feed to YouTube. YouTube’s encoder setup uses the stream URL and stream key. Keep the key private, and verify how your chosen service stores and uses it.
  3. Match the encoder settings to YouTube’s current requirements. YouTube recommends RTMPS, H.264 video, AAC or MP3 audio, constant bitrate encoding, and a two-second keyframe interval. Confirm the full settings for your selected resolution and frame rate on YouTube’s live encoder settings page.
  4. Test privately or unlisted. Check that music plays continuously, audio levels are consistent, and the stream reconnects as expected after an interruption. Confirm the service’s recovery behavior rather than assuming it.
  5. Resolve music rights before the broadcast. YouTube scans live streams for third-party content and may interrupt a stream after identifying a match. YouTube Help says: “If you’ve licensed third-party content to use in your stream, ask the owner of the content to add your channel to their allowlist through Content ID.”
  6. Plan for a complete archive separately. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume a continuous 24-hour feed will produce one complete replay; use a separate recording plan or shorter live sessions if the whole program must be saved.
  7. Keep a recovery plan. Decide who will respond to a dropped stream, how you will notice the outage, and what to do if the service does not reconnect. If a provider advertises redundancy, ask how it applies specifically to that provider’s YouTube output.
