Marvel Studios officially released an Avengers: Doomsday trailer and poster on July 20, 2026. That release is separate from leak discussions that circulated earlier: the available reporting does not verify one newly leaked clip that matches every claim in the headline. Reactions to the official trailer and other footage have varied, but selected social-media posts and fan anecdotes do not show how Marvel fans overall feel.
What was officially released—and when?
Marvel Studios’ UK press release announced a new trailer and poster on July 20, 2026. Disney’s US film page also lists the official trailer and a US theatrical release date of December 18, 2026.
That official release should not be conflated with earlier online discussion of leaked material. On December 15, 2025, a Marvel fan subreddit opened a thread about a purported leak and spoiler moderation. The thread is evidence of community discussion at that time, not proof that a particular clip was authentic or that Marvel had released it.
What the leak claims do—and do not—establish
The available reporting does not independently establish the identity, provenance, or exact contents of a newly leaked trailer matching the headline. A post or clip described as a leak is not automatically genuine, complete, or authorized. The clearest confirmed distinction is chronological: leak discussion appeared in a fan community in December 2025, while Marvel announced an official trailer and poster in July 2026.

Some online interpretations go further than the footage itself can support. For example, GamesRadar reported a fan theory that a frame might reveal the ending. That is speculation, not confirmed plot information.
Why reactions to the footage differ
Coverage of the official trailer captured enthusiasm from some viewers. TheWrap’s July 20, 2026, report highlighted positive social-media reactions, including phrases such as “Holy Peak” and “Doom Sounds Amazing.” Those selected posts show that some people welcomed the trailer; they are not a poll.

Other reactions concerned different footage and different moments. Reports described disappointment with early, restricted footage and speculation about what a trailer image might mean. The Independent later reported that Comic-Con footage won over fans who had found the first trailer underwhelming. These accounts support a picture of varied responses across materials and events—not a measured split between two equally sized groups.
A December 2025 Marvel fan subreddit discussion also illustrates differing preferences about leaks, spoilers, and waiting for official material. Such a thread can show how participants talked about the issue, but it cannot establish what Marvel fans generally think.

Release dates depend on territory
Disney’s current US film page lists December 18, 2026, for the theatrical release. Marvel’s July 20 UK press release gives December 16, 2026, for the UK. Disney’s UK press kit search-result summary lists December 18, creating a conflict between UK materials. Check a local cinema listing for the date applicable to your territory rather than treating either UK date as universal.
Disney’s UK press kit describes the film as an exclusive cinema release. The cited official materials do not establish a streaming date, physical-media date, or ticket availability.
