Afterward, Atlanta News First reported that thousands attended. The outlet did not give a verified precise total. FOX 5 Atlanta also reported that reserved tickets were required and all three viewing slots sold out.
What happened during the service?
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s account, Pastor Gregory Pollard presided. The Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church Choir opened with “Every Praise” and “I Shall Wear a Crown.” Rev. Lee C. Franklin delivered the eulogy, and Quan’s father placed a crown on his son’s head as the casket was closed.

Family members and artists including Killer Mike, Rocko and Stephen Jackson spoke. Quan’s five children offered a prayer and remarks. A video statement from Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens included the words: “Quan’s name has been etched in stone in Atlanta hip-hop royalty, and his memory will be remembered forever.” The Atlanta City Council proclaimed September 17 Rich Homie Quan Memorial Day.
Where was Rich Homie Quan buried?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that Quan was buried at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. The funeral coverage establishes the cemetery, but does not provide additional details about the gravesite or public visitation there.
Why do reports differ on his age?
Accounts differ: Atlanta News First reported that Quan was 33 and gave his birth date as October 4, 1989; FOX 5 Atlanta and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution described him as 34. The service was held on September 17, before the October 4 birthday cited by Atlanta News First. Because the reports conflict, the clearest wording is to attribute the age to the outlet rather than state it without qualification.

A family statement published September 11, 2024, named him as Dequantes Devontay Lamar and described him as a proud Atlanta native. The family said celebration-of-life details would be shared later; that statement was not itself a funeral schedule. In coverage of the decision to open the service to fans, FOX 5 quoted his father and manager, Corey Lamar: “Without the fans, there would be no Quan.”
