Updated October 3, 2026: The LG G4 is a 2024 OLED TV, not a current preorder product. LG opened U.S. preorders on February 28, 2024, with shipments expected in late March. That launch window is long over; today, any G4 you find is remaining retailer stock, clearance, open-box, refurbished or marketplace inventory, and availability depends on size and location.
Start with LG’s G4 product page and retailer locator, then compare the exact model and condition at checkout. A product page or search result does not guarantee stock. Because LG’s current OLED catalog features newer models, compare the G4’s final price and warranty with current alternatives before buying.
Can you preorder the LG G4 now?
No current G4 preorder campaign was verified as of October 3, 2026. LG’s U.S. preorder period began February 28, 2024, and LG said shipments were expected in late March. The associated launch promotion ran February 26 through March 17, 2024, and has expired. “Pre-orders now available” is accurate only as a description of that original launch window.
In 2026, treat the G4 as a previous-generation model with retailer-dependent remaining stock, not as a new product awaiting release. LG’s TV catalog and OLED catalog show the current product range; the G4 page is useful for specifications and finding retailers, but does not itself establish that a set is in stock.

Where to look for a G4 in 2026
LG.com: verify the model and find retailers
Use LG’s G4 product page to check official specifications, model numbers, warranty language and the retailer-finding path. Confirm whether LG or a listed retailer actually has the size you want; a page remaining online is not proof of direct availability.
Best Buy: check condition and local stock
Best Buy’s G4 search results have shown a mixture of clearance, open-box, alternate offers and unavailable or sold-out listings, depending on model and location. In the August 16, 2026 snapshot, one 77-inch listing showed $2,804.99 clearance against a listed former price of $3,299.99; that is a dated example, not a guaranteed current price. The 77-inch product listing may show different offers or availability at checkout.
Before ordering, distinguish “Sold by Best Buy” from a marketplace seller, and new from open-box. Check the ZIP-code-specific delivery or pickup status, return window, included accessories and whether the manufacturer warranty applies to that unit.
Walmart and marketplace listings: examine the seller
Examples of G4 pages include Walmart’s 77-inch listing and 55-inch listing. A listing on a large retailer’s site does not necessarily mean the retailer itself is selling the television or that it is new. Read the “sold and shipped by” details, condition, warranty, return-shipping terms and freight-damage procedure. Be especially cautious if the seller or return path is unclear.

G4 sizes and original U.S. launch prices
The G4 launched in five sizes. The following are U.S. launch MSRPs announced by LG in February 2024, not current prices.

Source for all five launch prices and model designations: LG’s U.S. launch announcement. Retailers may abbreviate model numbers, so match the full suffix to LG’s documentation. The 97-inch model is a specialty purchase: its original price was far above the rest of the range, and delivery, room access and installation need particular attention.
Do not compare a clearance or open-box price with launch MSRP as if both describe equivalent offers. A lower listing could reflect age, condition, missing accessories, a seller other than the retailer, or a limited promotion. Check the checkout price, condition and terms for the specific unit.
What the G4 offers—and when its premium makes sense
LG identifies the G4’s α11 AI Processor, Brightness Booster Max, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Filmmaker Mode, webOS, NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium among its features. LG also lists 144Hz refresh-rate support and a 0.1ms response-time claim on its product page. These are manufacturer specifications and claims, not independent test results. LG’s statement that the set is up to 150% brighter than the B4 is based on LG internal testing, as described on its 55-inch G4 product page.

The premium is most compelling if you want a flagship OLED for a bright room, high-end gaming, or a wall-mounted installation, and the available price is meaningfully below a newer comparable set. LG advertises a five-year panel warranty on the product page; verify the current warranty document for the exact model, coverage, labor terms and exclusions. Do not read that wording as a blanket five-year warranty on every part of the television.
G4 or C4: which one fits better?
The G4 is the higher-tier, wall-oriented option in LG’s 2024 OLED family. The C4 launched at lower prices and included 42- and 48-inch sizes, which the G4 did not. LG’s launch announcement listed C4 prices from $1,499 for 42 inches to $5,399 for 83 inches. Those are also historical U.S. launch MSRPs, not current offers.

LG’s 2024 pricing announcement provides the launch-price comparison. In 2026, compare actual prices and terms for the specific units available rather than assuming the original MSRP predicts value.

Do not assume a stand is included. The G4 is designed with wall mounting in mind, and stand availability can vary by screen size, region, package and retailer. Before checkout, confirm whether the exact box includes a stand, whether one must be purchased separately, and whether the wall bracket is included or merely compatible.

LG’s original preorder offer referred to free wall mounting or TV stand setup, subject to eligibility and model limitations; it was a time-limited service promotion, not a statement that every G4 included every mounting component or installation. The LG pricing and availability PDF notes setup limitations for certain large G4WUA models. The launch promotion and its terms are in LG’s announcement.
Is a discounted G4 worth buying in 2026?
It can be a good buy if it is in the condition you expect, has clear warranty and return coverage, and costs enough less than a newer alternative to justify choosing an older model. It is a poor bet if the price is close to a current flagship, the seller cannot explain the unit’s history, or a large-TV freight return would be difficult.
LG has announced its 2026 OLED lineup; check the 2026 OLED announcement and current catalog when comparing generations. A newer model may be preferable when pricing is close and you value current retail stock and support. The G4’s original launch promotions—including 5% LG membership rewards, a Smart Cam or equivalent instant savings, eligible soundbar discounts and setup offers—ended with the March 17, 2024 promotional period; they should not be treated as current savings.

- Match the exact size and complete model number to LG’s product information.
- Confirm whether the unit is new, clearance, open-box, refurbished, used or marketplace-sold.
- Identify the actual seller and verify warranty coverage, exclusions and the process for panel defects.
- Read the return window and freight-damage terms before accepting a large-screen delivery.
- Check the delivery date and ZIP-code-specific stock; “available” may mean only open-box, another seller, selected locations or a future date.
- Confirm whether a stand, wall bracket, remote, power cable and other expected accessories are included.
- Measure doorways, elevators, stairs and the intended wall area; verify wall construction, cable routing and soundbar placement before booking installation.
- Compare the full cost, including tax, delivery, installation and haul-away. Treat a soundbar bundle as a deal only after comparing its total with buying separately.
- Check whether the retailer offers price matching or a price-drop adjustment, and read its terms rather than assuming it does.
- If considering open-box or refurbished, ensure there is time to inspect the panel promptly for damage, dead pixels, tinting, uniformity problems or burn-in and to use the stated return process.
