Yes—but only select shows and movies, and the current U.S. Premium plan is required. Downloads are temporary, DRM-protected copies stored inside the Paramount+ app for offline playback. The documented download path is the app on supported iPhone, iPad, and Android devices; a Paramount+ app on a TV or streaming box does not automatically support downloads.
What you need to download Paramount+ shows
- An eligible subscription: Paramount’s current U.S. plan page identifies Premium as the download-enabled plan. Essential does not include downloads.
- A supported mobile device: Paramount’s support material lists iPhone, iPad, Android phones, and Android tablets.
- The current Paramount+ app: The cited requirements are iOS 16 or later and Android 6.0 or later, although app requirements can change.
- An eligible title: The movie or episode must display a download icon.
- Storage and a connection: Wi-Fi is preferable because long or high-quality downloads use storage and mobile data.
In the U.S., Paramount’s page displayed Essential at $8.99 per month and Premium at $13.99 per month on August 16, 2026. Those are monthly display prices, not a guarantee: taxes, promotions, annual billing, signup channel, legacy subscriptions, and regional plans can differ. Check the Paramount+ plan page before upgrading.

How to download a show on Paramount+
- Install or update the official Paramount+ app on a supported iPhone, iPad, or Android device.
- Sign in to the account with the qualifying Premium subscription.
- Open the show or movie’s title page.
- Look for the download icon beside the movie or episode. If it is missing, that title is not currently downloadable for that account and device.
- Tap the icon. For a series, select the individual episodes you want to save.
- Keep the app open while the transfer runs; Paramount says leaving the app can pause a download.
- Open the app’s downloads area to find the saved title. Menu names can vary by app version, country, and device.
- While still online, start the downloaded episode, then disable Wi-Fi and mobile data to confirm it plays before you travel.

Can you download every Paramount+ show?
No. Paramount makes only selected on-demand movies and shows available for temporary download. Licensing can differ by title, country, subscription arrangement, and time. Live TV and live streams cannot be downloaded for offline playback. A later on-demand replay may have different rights.

The download icon is the most useful real-time eligibility test. Its absence can mean that the title is not licensed for downloads, the account is on Essential, the app or operating system is unsupported, the title is live programming, or a regional or partner subscription has different rights.
Which devices support Paramount+ downloads?

Paramount’s main site lists many connected-TV platforms for streaming, separately from its Premium download feature. That distinction matters: being able to watch online on a device does not mean the device can store an offline copy.

How long do Paramount+ downloads last?
Downloads are temporary access, not purchased files. They remain protected inside the Paramount+ app and cannot be copied to a normal folder, transferred to another player, or watched through a browser or different streaming service.
Paramount’s terms reserve the right to impose expiration, device, repeat-download, and viewing restrictions. Its support information says that once playback begins, you have 48 hours to finish watching an episode. Treat that as the cited support rule, not a universal promise for every title, market, or point before playback starts. See the Paramount+ terms of use.

A download can also become unavailable after a licensing change, account sign-out, subscription change or cancellation, app removal, or expiration. Losing Premium should not be treated as a way to keep permanent access.
Download limits and storage behavior
Same-video limit
Paramount’s support material states that an account can have five copies of the same video across all devices; attempting a sixth copy produces an error. This is a limit on one title’s copies, not a published total for every episode or movie in your library. Delete an existing copy before retrying.

Other restrictions
Paramount’s terms describe possible limits on the number of downloads, download-capable devices, repeated downloads, and access duration, but the cited passage does not publish one universal total-download number. Available storage is a separate practical limit. Delete watched videos to make room; Paramount’s support material also mentions an auto-delete feature that may remove a video after it has been watched, depending on the current app version.
What downloads are not
They are not ordinary MP4 files, permanent purchases, or recordings of live channels. They work only through the authenticated Paramount+ app and remain subject to subscription and rights checks.

Why Paramount+ downloads are not working
- Confirm the plan. In the current U.S. structure, Premium is the download-enabled plan. International, legacy, and third-party-billed plans may differ.
- Check the title page. No download icon normally means the title is not eligible for your account, region, or device.
- Update the app and operating system. Paramount’s cited minimums are iOS 16 and Android 6.0.
- Check free storage. Remove incomplete or watched downloads and retry.
- Use reliable Wi-Fi. Keep the Paramount+ app open because leaving it can pause the transfer.
- Retry after removing an old copy. This is especially relevant when five copies of the same video already exist across devices.
- Sign out and back in. This can refresh an entitlement that the app has not recognized.
- Reinstall only as a last resort. Confirm your credentials first; reinstalling can remove local downloads.
- Contact Paramount+ support. Do this when an eligible title still will not download after the checks above.
If a download played before travel but fails offline, open the app when connected and check for expiration, a changed subscription, sign-out, or a rights change. Paramount’s troubleshooting guidance is on its official download support page.
Can you watch Paramount+ without internet?
Yes for an eligible downloaded on-demand title, provided the download has not expired and the app accepts the account and device. No for live TV itself: Paramount’s offline-help material says live TV is unavailable without an internet connection. Test airplane-mode playback before departure rather than discovering an authentication or expiration problem in transit.
Is Premium worth upgrading for downloads?
Premium is relevant if you regularly fly, commute, travel through unreliable coverage, need to reduce cellular streaming, or want mobile offline access to eligible originals and movies. The displayed U.S. difference between the cited monthly prices was $5 ($13.99 Premium versus $8.99 Essential) on August 16, 2026, subject to the qualifications above.
Upgrading may be poor value if you watch only at home on a television, need offline viewing on a laptop or console, mainly watch live sports or channels, or expect permanent ownership. Also check that your specific favorite titles show the download icon before paying more. Premium’s other benefits and advertising treatment are plan-specific; live TV can still include ads and plans may include trailers or sponsorship messages.
