It paired a black-coated titanium case and pink-gold-colored lugs with Kingsman branding, a special display treatment and a second orange velvet strap. It is now a discontinued historical edition: its film and collector appeal is clearer than its usefulness as a modern smartwatch.
What is the Kingsman Connected Modular 45?
TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 Kingsman Special Edition—also called the Connected 45 Kingsman Edition—was a special edition of TAG Heuer’s 2017 Connected Modular 45 smartwatch. TAG Heuer presented its Connected watch as the official watch of the Kingsman agents, in a partnership involving MARV Films, 20th Century Fox and MR PORTER. Director Matthew Vaughn selected the Connected platform for the film; launch reporting attributed the choice to the need for a watch that looked elegant on an agent while fitting the story’s technology-driven action. “Modular” describes TAG Heuer’s wider system of interchangeable components and watch modules, not a promise that the smartwatch electronics can be upgraded to a current generation. TAG Heuer’s history of the Connected concept describes the shared-component idea, including the possibility of using an automatic watch module with compatible components.
It is distinct from the Monaco Kingsman special edition associated with the Statesman side of the film. That is a separate watch, not another name for the Connected 45. Taiwan launch coverage discusses the distinction.

What was the film partnership—and what did it mean?
The watch sits at the intersection of a film collaboration, an on-screen product family and a consumer edition, which are related but not interchangeable claims. TAG Heuer promoted its Connected watch as the official watch of Kingsman agents, and reporting says Vaughn chose the Connected platform to suit the film’s technological premise. The commercial Kingsman Special Edition brought film-specific styling and display details to the Connected Modular 45 for buyers. That partnership does not establish that every watch visible in every scene was the identical retail configuration.
The film’s planned global theatrical release was September 22, 2017, though dates varied by country. The U.S. date should not be treated as a worldwide release date; the date and regional context are discussed in coverage of TAG Heuer’s Kingsman partnership.

Design and Kingsman-specific details
Case and dial
The 45 mm case was black-coated titanium, with pink-gold-colored lugs. Published regional descriptions identify a midnight-blue or grey digital display, depending on configuration or market, with Kingsman branding and an inscription integrated into the display. A titanium folding clasp is also reported in regional product coverage. These details are documented in WatchPro’s launch report and the regional specification coverage.
Straps and film reference
The set was described with a Kingsman-marked leather strap and an additional orange velvet strap, a thematic reference to Eggsy’s orange velvet smoking jacket. The orange strap is a signature part of the launch presentation, but buyers should check what an individual second-hand seller actually includes; a surviving example may be incomplete. Special display behavior
Launch reporting described Kingsman branding around 3 and 9 o’clock and a 10:10 event: a ten-second vibration accompanied by a gold “K” appearing across the dial. The film-related display treatment was presented in place of the standard Android Wear lighting function. These are launch-era software details, not a guarantee that the animation will work identically on a watch today. Firmware, reset state and configuration can affect behavior, so the animation is not an authenticity test. The original software ecosystem, phone compatibility, app support, charging and updates may also be limited or obsolete. WatchPro describes the reported display feature.

Launch coverage does not establish a production quantity, battery capacity, processor, memory, screen resolution, storage, exact software version or model reference here, so those details should not be inferred from the family name or from a seller’s listing.
How it launched and what the historical price evidence says
The edition was unveiled in London in 2017 by TAG Heuer CEO Jean-Claude Biver, Matthew Vaughn and MR PORTER managing director Toby Bateman. MR PORTER was the exclusive UK stockist for the first month, with its online launch beginning July 6, 2017. Later MR PORTER material referred to the edition’s success while discussing a wider TAG Heuer assortment. No single authoritative global launch price for this edition is established by these sources. A Taiwan article lists a recommended price of NT$123,000 for the Kingsman set in September 2017; that is a market-specific reference, not a universal MSRP. MR PORTER’s later release gives ranges for its broader TAG Heuer assortment—£900–£5,000, $1,150–$6,300 and €995–€5,650—but does not specify the Kingsman model’s price. As of August 16, 2026, the available sources support treating the Kingsman edition as a discontinued historical model, not a current TAG Heuer retail offering. They do not establish that it is unavailable everywhere, nor do they establish a current resale value. A buyer is more likely to encounter one as new old stock or pre-owned than as a current official product; ask TAG Heuer directly about any country-specific service or accessory availability.
The realistic question is not only whether the watch powers on, but whether the whole package is authentic, complete and usable enough for the buyer’s purpose. A standard Connected Modular 45 with an aftermarket brown or orange strap is not automatically a Kingsman edition.
Check identity and completeness
- Ask for clear photographs of the caseback, lugs, clasp, display, charger and every strap.
- Check for the 45 mm Connected Modular case architecture, black-coated titanium construction, pink-gold-colored lugs and Kingsman markings on the strap, display or caseback.
- Compare serial or reference documentation with the watch and request the original box, papers or purchase records where available. Packaging and a seller’s “limited edition” wording are not proof by themselves.
- Confirm whether the Kingsman leather strap, orange velvet strap, correct lugs, clasp, charger and cable are actually included. Missing accessories reduce completeness but do not, by themselves, prove a counterfeit.
Test the electronics and physical condition
- If possible, confirm that the watch powers on, the touchscreen responds across the display, the charger connects reliably and the battery holds charge.
- Check the display for burn-in, dead pixels or severe discoloration; test the crown, buttons and microphone where practical.
- Ask whether it can complete setup and pair with your current phone, rather than assuming that old app or account flows still work. Compatibility with current Android phones or iPhones is not established here.
- Ask TAG Heuer support in your country whether the model can still be serviced, whether battery or module work is available, and whether a replacement charger or relevant accessories can be supplied. The official TAG Heuer contact page is an entry point; current service pricing and acceptance should be confirmed directly.
- Do not rely on the launch-era 50 m rating for a used watch unless its present water resistance has been properly tested. Age, wear and service history matter more than the original specification.
The launch coverage describes the design and release, not independent long-term durability testing. Claims about extreme missions, underwater scenes or stunts belong to the film’s fictional and promotional context; they are not evidence of a used watch’s water safety or remaining battery life. For current smartwatch functionality, TAG Heuer’s Connected collection is the relevant current product family to investigate, but it does not reproduce the 2017 Kingsman design or establish the value of a pre-owned Kingsman example. A standard Modular 45 may be a less expensive way to own the older platform, but it is not a substitute for the special edition’s provenance. If long-term use matters more than smartwatch features, compare mechanical watches on their own terms rather than assuming this digital module can be upgraded.
