Pluto TV launched in Canada on December 1, 2022. The free, ad-supported streaming service debuted with more than 100 curated channels and over 20,000 hours of programming, according to its launch announcement. Those figures describe the launch offer—not the current lineup.
When did Pluto TV arrive in Canada?
Paramount Global and Corus announced the Canadian launch date in September 2022; Pluto TV debuted in the country on December 1, 2022. The date in the headline was therefore a historical announcement, not a future launch date. The launch announcement also described the service as free and ad-supported.
How does Pluto TV work?
Pluto TV belongs to the FAST category: free ad-supported streaming television. Viewers can watch without paying a subscription, while advertising supports the service. At launch, Pluto TV said people in Canada could access it on the web, mobile devices and connected TVs. The announcement did not give a complete list of compatible devices, so those categories should not be treated as a current device-compatibility guide.
What did Pluto TV offer at launch?
In December 2022, Pluto TV said its Canadian service would begin with more than 100 curated channels and over 20,000 hours of programming. The launch announcement described programming across drama, comedy, lifestyle, kids’ content, movies and around-the-clock news. These were launch figures, not a promise that every title or channel would remain available.

How did the reported Canadian lineup grow?
Pluto TV’s later announcements offer dated snapshots of the service’s reported scale. They are company-reported figures, not independently audited totals or a verified inventory for today.

Which channels were added later?
A May 2024 announcement named six A+E Networks channels joining Pluto TV in Canada: Dance Moms, Ax Men, Duck Dynasty, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Modern Marvels and Tiny House Nation. The announcement is evidence of additions at that time, not confirmation that all six—or any particular channel—are in the lineup now. Read the May 2024 announcement.

Is Pluto TV free in Canada, and what can viewers watch now?
Pluto TV was presented as a free, ad-supported service at its Canadian launch. The historical channel counts and programming examples above explain what the company announced at launch and later reported; they do not establish today’s full Canadian catalogue, channel list, distribution partners or device support. The Canadian Apple App Store listing, accessed September 30, 2026, advertises hundreds of channels and confirms a Canadian iOS app listing, but it does not settle those broader questions. For a current lineup or supported-device details, check Pluto TV’s official Canadian service information before relying on a specific channel or device.
