Yes. Disney+ has a Remove control for titles in Continue Watching. The feature was announced globally on March 24, 2025, but Disney still says it is unavailable on some supported devices. Removing a title hides it from that row without deleting your saved viewing progress.
Remove a title in a web browser
- Go to DisneyPlus.com and sign in.
- Find the Continue Watching row on the home page.
- Hover over the movie or show.
- Select the Remove icon in the upper-right corner of the title card.
- Confirm by selecting Remove in the pop-up.
Remove a title on a phone or tablet
- Open the Disney+ app and select the relevant profile.
- Find the title in Continue Watching.
- Tap the three-dot menu on the right side of the title.
- Tap Remove, then tap Remove again to confirm.
Menu labels can vary by app version, and Disney says the control is not present on every supported mobile device.
Remove a title on a smart TV or streaming device
From Continue Watching
- Open Disney+ and navigate to Continue Watching.
- Highlight the movie or show.
- Press and hold the title on the remote.
- Select Remove.
From the title’s Details page
- Open the movie or show to reach its Details page.
- Select the Remove icon on the right side.
- Select Remove to confirm.
Remote controls differ among Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, game consoles and smart-TV systems, so Disney’s general instruction is to press and hold the title rather than use a universal button shortcut. These steps apply only where the feature is supported.
What removal changes—and what it does not
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Remove from Continue Watching | Hides the title from that row on the selected Disney+ profile. |
| Open the title later | Your Disney+ watch progress remains available, so the title may resume from the saved position. |
| Remove from Watchlist | Deletes a title you manually saved for later; this is separate from Continue Watching. |
| Delete a profile or account | Not required to clean up the row. |
Disney confirms that removing a title from Continue Watching does not erase watch progress. Continue Watching is automatically populated with unfinished viewing, while Watchlist contains titles you deliberately saved. Removing an item from one does not necessarily remove it from the other. See Disney’s Watchlist guidance.

- Compact without compromises: The sleek design of Roku Streaming Stick won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku device with one remote. Use your voice to quickly search, play entertainment, and more.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
- TV, simplified: With setup that only takes minutes, a simple-to-navigate Home Screen, and an uncluttered remote control that does all you need—Roku makes it easier to watch the TV you love.
Why the Remove option may be missing
- Device limitation: Disney says the feature is not available on all supported mobile and TV-connected devices. Check the player-controls guidance.
- Live event: Disney excludes live events from this removal feature, so a live sports broadcast, concert or similar program may not show the control.
- Outdated app: An older Disney+ build may not expose the current interface.
- Wrong profile: Continue Watching is tied to the profile that watched the title. Another household member may have used a different profile.
- Different shelf: Apple TV, Roku, a smart TV or another platform may show its own Up Next or Continue Watching row. Removing a title inside Disney+ may not change that operating-system-level shelf.
If removal does not stick
- Make sure you are working in Disney+’s own Continue Watching row, not a device home-screen aggregation.
- Switch to the profile that originally watched the movie or show.
- Close and reopen Disney+.
- Sign out and sign back in.
- Update the Disney+ app.
- Try the browser procedure at DisneyPlus.com.
- If the control remains unavailable, try another supported device and contact Disney+ support.
Disney does not specify an exact synchronization time after confirmation. The title should disappear from Disney+’s Continue Watching row, but it can remain searchable, appear on another profile, or persist temporarily in a separate device-level shelf. Removing a series entry does not delete the series from Disney+.
When the feature arrived
The Walt Disney Company announced direct Continue Watching removal on March 24, 2025, initially describing availability on the web, Apple TV and iOS, with other platforms following during the rollout. Current availability remains device-dependent, so this is an established feature rather than a new August 2026 launch. Read Disney’s announcement at The Walt Disney Company.

Official plan information
You do not need to upgrade Disney+ to use removal where the control is supported. For U.S. subscribers, Disney’s pricing page lists plans and bundles, but prices and promotions can change and third-party billing may differ: Disney+ plans and prices.

Use Disney+’s Remove control instead of fast-forwarding to the end: it clears a title from Continue Watching while preserving your progress. If the control is missing, check the profile, app, device support and whether the item is a live event, then use DisneyPlus.com as the fallback.
