Pure Flix is not completely free. You can create a no-card free account for selected titles and events, or use an eligible introductory trial for temporary access to paid programming. Trials can renew automatically, so record the renewal date and cancel through the service that billed you if you do not want to pay.
What “free Pure Flix” actually means

Pure Flix’s free-account guidance says the no-cost tier is limited. A title can still display a subscription prompt even when you are signed in.

Create a free Pure Flix account
This is the safest choice if you will not enter payment details or risk an automatic renewal.
On the web
- Open the Pure Flix login page.
- Select Create Account.
- Enter your first name, last name, email address and password.
- Complete the registration prompts and sign in.
- Browse titles identified as free, along with current free events, trailers and extras.
The official support page says a credit card is not required for this account type.

On Android or Apple devices
- Install the current Pure Flix app listing on your device (branding may appear as Great American Pure Flix).
- Open the app and tap Create Account.
- Complete the on-screen registration and sign in.
- Look for free events and selected free titles.
App labels change, so follow the current version rather than an older screenshot. Free programming is subject to change; it is not a promise that every title will remain available.
Use the free trial carefully
Some official Pure Flix pages advertise a seven-day trial, including this campaign page and a title page for new members (https://www.pureflix.com/movie/47-days-with-jesus). However, the terms say eligibility and trial duration may vary by offer. Treat “seven days” as an offer-specific statement, not a universal guarantee.
- Open the official membership signup page or an eligible offer page.
- Select a plan and confirm that the checkout screen explicitly shows a free-trial offer.
- Enter the requested payment method if required. A paid trial is different from a no-card free account.
- Write down the exact trial end and renewal dates.
- Set a reminder several days before expiration.
- Cancel before the deadline if you do not want the membership to renew.
Trial eligibility
Pure Flix may limit trials to first-time customers, one trial per household or one trial per payment method. Its signup-error guidance notes that an email address used for an earlier trial may be rejected or moved directly into paid membership.

How to avoid an unwanted charge
A trial can convert automatically into the selected paid plan. Keep the confirmation email, check the renewal date shown at checkout and cancel through the original billing provider. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Direct Pure Flix billing
- Sign in at PureFlix.com.
- Select the profile or Head and Shoulders icon.
- Choose Manage Account, then Subscriptions or membership management.
- Find the active subscription, select the gear icon and choose Cancel Plan.
- Complete the confirmation prompts and save the confirmation email or screen.
Use the detailed cancellation instructions if labels differ. Cancellation normally stops future renewal while access continues through the current trial or billing period. The terms generally do not promise refunds or credits for unused portions of a partial month or year.
Apple billing
- Open the App Store and tap your profile icon.
- Select Subscriptions, choose Pure Flix, tap Cancel Subscription and confirm.

Google Play billing
- Open Google Play Store and tap the profile icon.
- Select Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Choose Pure Flix, select Cancel subscription and confirm.

Roku billing
- Highlight the Pure Flix channel.
- Press the asterisk button on the Roku remote.
- Choose Manage membership, then Cancel membership and confirm.
You can also cancel from your Roku account’s membership-management page.

If a free account does not unlock a movie
That usually means the title requires a paid or Premium plan. Return to the free-content listings rather than entering payment details unintentionally. A free account is for selected programming, not unlimited catalog access.

Free events, gifts and other legitimate access
Temporary free events
Pure Flix occasionally opens events without a paid membership. Its free-account page cites America Reads the Bible as an example; the associated guide is available at this official PDF. Check the current app and event pages because availability is temporary.
Gift memberships
An official gift membership lets someone else fund your access. Purchase and redemption are currently limited to the United States and U.S. territories; Canadian members cannot currently purchase or redeem these vouchers. An active membership may need to end before a gift can be redeemed. Use the official gift-membership rules and redemption process rather than shared credentials.

Current prices and payment methods are documented in Pure Flix’s billing guide and membership information. Pure Flix documents credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Roku-related billing depending on the signup route. Prepaid Visa or Mastercard cards may work when they support the purchaser’s full name and billing address; ZIP-only cards can fail verification.

Common problems and fixes
“I was charged immediately.”
- Check the receipt and bank statement to identify the billing provider.
- Confirm whether the account previously used a trial or whether the checkout actually displayed a trial.
- Check Pure Flix, Apple, Google Play and Roku subscriptions for all likely email addresses.
- Cancel with the provider that processed the charge, then contact support if it appears erroneous.
“There is no Cancel button.”
Pure Flix says this generally means the account is already canceled or inactive, or that you are signed in with a different email address. Check the account status and confirmation messages.
“Can I repeat trials with new accounts?”
Do not attempt to bypass household or payment-method limits. Repeated-trial schemes can violate the terms and may trigger immediate billing or account action.
Availability and unofficial workarounds
Pure Flix identifies streaming availability as restricted to the United States and Canada, with catalogs varying by location because of licensing. VPN circumvention, pirated streams, cracked apps and questionable account sellers can create security, technical or terms-of-service problems; they are not reliable substitutes for the official free tier or trial.
If you need no-cost alternatives, library services such as Kanopy or Hoopla and ad-supported platforms may have individual family or faith titles, but their catalogs depend on your library, region and current licensing. They are not equivalent to Pure Flix’s catalog.

The Bottom Line
Choose a free account when you want selected programming without entering a card. Use a trial only after confirming its exact terms and renewal date. If you continue, compare the Standard annual price with Premium’s event benefits; if you do not, cancel through the platform that billed you before the trial ends.
