Returning comedies and genre favorites
Hacks season 4
Deborah and Ava compete for control of a late-night show. The Max/HBO comedy continues its generational clash between an established performer and the younger writer whose career is tied to hers.
The Rehearsal season 2
Nathan Fielder expands the elaborate social experiments that define the series. It is best suited to viewers comfortable with uncomfortable, highly constructed comedy rather than conventional sitcom storytelling.
Doctor Who
The Fifteenth Doctor begins another set of adventures on Disney+. Numbering can be confusing: Disney’s official schedule calls this season 2 of the current iteration, while some coverage calls it season 15 when counting the modern revival. “Season 2” is the safer service label; “season 15” describes the broader revival count.

Viola Davis plays a U.S. president fighting terrorists during a G20 summit. Prime Video’s original movie uses a global political gathering as the setting for a contained action thriller.
Havoc
Tom Hardy stars as a detective battling through a criminal underworld after a drug deal goes wrong. Netflix’s film is the month’s most direct choice for viewers seeking hard-edged crime action rather than a serialized story.

Availability is U.S.-specific unless a service says otherwise. Catalogs, bundles, plan terms and prices vary by country, and a Prime Video title may require a separate purchase or add-on in some markets. If one season is your only interest, waiting until more episodes are available and using a short-term subscription can be more economical than buying an annual plan; check each service’s current cancellation terms.
Quick Recap
What “streaming in April” means here
- The list mixes true new series, returning seasons, final seasons, a limited series and movies making their streaming premieres.
- It is not a complete April 2025 release calendar.
- Release dates identify U.S. availability; international services and dates may differ.
- Episode timing was not uniformly specified in the roundup, so do not assume every series was released all at once.
- The original roundup contained an “April 2024” wording error; the correct year for these titles and dates is 2025.
