This guide is specific to the U.S. streaming weekend of October 10–12, 2025. The seven choices are not all October 10 premieres: some arrived earlier in the week, The Last Frontier was entering a weekly run, and The Chair Company premiered on Sunday night. Release times, catalogs and add-on access can differ outside the United States.
For an immediate movie, start with Netflix’s The Woman in Cabin 10. For a complete family season, choose Wizards Beyond Waverly Place season 2. Viewers seeking a serialized thriller, faith-based drama, comedy-drama or music documentary have options below.

The Woman in Cabin 10 — Netflix
Status: New Friday release. Netflix’s feature adaptation of Ruth Ware’s bestselling novel follows journalist Lo Blacklock (Keira Knightley) on a luxury yacht. She believes she saw a passenger thrown overboard, but everyone else insists nothing happened. Guy Pearce and Hannah Waddingham co-star.
This is the clearest choice if you want one self-contained watch rather than a new series to track. It is a polished mystery thriller built around isolation, unreliable testimony and a locked-down setting. Netflix lists the 2025 film for streaming and download on its service page: Netflix and Netflix Media Center.

Boots — Netflix
Status: Available earlier this week. Netflix’s October 2025 schedule placed Boots on October 9. The eight-episode comedy-drama follows Cameron Cope, a closeted young man who enters U.S. Marine Corps boot camp in the 1990s, when gay people were barred from serving openly. Episodes run roughly 40 minutes, and Vera Farmiga plays Cameron’s narcissistic mother.
The series balances coming-of-age humor with the pressure of military training and the historical reality of that policy. It is scripted drama, not a documentary or a literal account of one person’s life. The October schedule listing is available via Yahoo Entertainment.
Choose it if: you want a complete Netflix binge with LGBTQ historical context. Skip it if: you prefer an unscripted military documentary.

The Last Frontier — Apple TV+
Status: Weekly series; first two episodes available around October 10. Jason Clarke stars as U.S. Marshal Frank Remnick, whose Alaskan town is thrown into chaos when a prison-transport plane crashes and dangerous prisoners escape into the wilderness. An FBI-linked investigation adds a conspiracy strand to the survival story.
Contemporary weekend coverage described the launch as two episodes followed by weekly installments, so this is a start-now option rather than a completed binge. See the release reporting from GamesRadar and TechRadar.
Choose it if: you enjoy high-concept action thrillers and weekly speculation. Skip it if: you need a finished season tonight.
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place season 2 — Disney+
Status: Complete season available. David Henrie returns as Justin Russo, with Janice LeAnn Brown as Billie, as the Russo family deals with the complications of wizard life.

Ozzy: No Escape From Now — Paramount+
Status: Available earlier this week. Paramount+ premiered this documentary on October 7, 2025, in the U.S. and internationally except Japan. It covers the final six years of Ozzy Osbourne’s life and career, including material from his home and studio and preparations for the July 5, 2025, Back to the Beginning performance at Villa Park.
Paramount’s announcement supplies the release and content details: Paramount Press Express. Calling it a “final goodbye” is an interpretation of its timing, not a description that should be treated as a production fact.

Status: Already in weekly release; access caveat. This faith-oriented historical drama continues David’s rise while he is connected to the House of Saul and dramatizes the biblical David-and-Goliath story. Season 2 began on October 5, 2025, through Wonder Project.
For this October weekend, do not assume it was included with every ordinary Prime Video membership. Contemporary coverage and later availability information distinguish the Wonder Project add-on from broader Prime Video access; the season’s timing and service context are summarized here and in the series listing. Check the account-specific offer before subscribing.
Choose it if: you want an explicitly faith-based epic. Skip it if: you do not want to add a channel for a continuing weekly drama.

The Chair Company — HBO Max
Status: Sunday premiere, not a Friday release. Warner Bros. Discovery announced that Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin’s eight-episode comedy premiered Sunday, October 12, 2025, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and HBO Max, with episodes released weekly. Robinson stars as a man investigating a far-reaching conspiracy after an embarrassing workplace incident.
That timing matters: it was not available during Friday or Saturday of the October 10 weekend. Fans of surreal, awkward workplace comedy should mark Sunday night instead. The official premise, date and rollout are at Warner Bros. Discovery.
Choose it if: you enjoy strange, uncomfortable comedy. Skip it if: you need something available before Sunday or a complete season.
