Archive note: The 2025 TCS London Marathon was held on Sunday, April 27, 2025. It is not live today. In the original broadcast, UK viewers could watch on BBC One, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport, while FloTrack carried the live event in the United States, Canada and Australia. The options below explain the original coverage and where to look for replays now.
Where UK viewers watched the 2025 London Marathon
The main UK coverage began at 08:30 BST on BBC One. The same coverage was streamed through BBC iPlayer, the BBC Sport website and the BBC Sport app. BBC’s announcement also confirmed an extension of its London Marathon rights through 2030 (BBC Sport).
| Coverage | 2025 time (BST) | What it offered |
|---|---|---|
| BBC One | 08:30–14:00 | Main live race programme |
| BBC Two | 14:00–15:00 | Continuation of coverage |
| Tower Bridge stream | 11:30–14:30 | Fixed-camera view useful for spotting participants |
| Finish-line stream | 13:00–18:00 | Finish-area coverage for mass-participation runners |
| BBC Two highlights | 18:00 | Edited highlights programme |
The official event guide also listed BBC Radio 5 Live and BBC Sounds for audio coverage. Tower Bridge and finish-line feeds were supplementary cameras, not replacements for the full BBC broadcast.
BBC access requirements
BBC iPlayer does not require a separate streaming subscription, but UK viewers watching live television or live BBC streams must comply with UK TV-licence rules. Availability is also subject to BBC location and account controls.

A contemporaneous report mentioned prices of $29.99 per month or $149.99 per year, but those figures were secondary reporting for the 2025 event rather than a currently verified price (What to Watch).

- Confirm that the event is available in your country.
- Check whether the page offers live coverage or an archive replay.
- Review the current subscription price before paying.

Was the 2025 stream free?
For eligible UK viewers, BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport offered online access without a separate streaming subscription, subject to TV-licence obligations. That does not make the event universally free: FloTrack was a paid service in the US, Canada and Australia, and other countries’ broadcasters used their own subscription or television packages. Avoid unofficial “free” restreams, which can be illegal, unreliable or unsafe.
Can a VPN unlock the broadcast abroad?
A VPN can change the apparent location of an internet connection, but it does not grant viewing rights. BBC iPlayer and other platforms may block VPN traffic, require an eligible account or enforce TV-licence conditions; their terms may also prohibit circumvention. If you are travelling, first check whether your legitimate home service permits access abroad, then use the local rights-holder where one exists. A VPN is not a guaranteed workaround.

How to find a replay now
Because the race is historical, no service can promise that the complete 2025 programme remains online. Check these official sources:
- BBC iPlayer for any surviving on-demand BBC programme.
- The BBC 2025 live page for archived reporting, clips or video.
- The official London Marathon Events website and its official social or YouTube channels for highlights.

Tracking a runner instead of watching the broadcast
The official TCS London Marathon app provided friend-and-family tracking. Tracking is separate from video: a participant may not appear continuously on television, the Tower Bridge camera or the finish-line feed. For a completed race, official results and event photo services may be more useful than a live-stream page.
Troubleshooting viewing problems
- BBC stream will not play: refresh, try the iPlayer app, disable unsupported extensions and check whether coverage has moved from BBC One to BBC Two.
- FloTrack access fails: sign out and back in, confirm the subscription and country, try a supported browser or FloSports app, and temporarily disable ad- or script-blocking extensions.
- The event page is empty: the live window may have ended or the archive may have expired; check BBC Sport or official London Marathon channels for clips.
- You are overseas: use the broadcaster listed for your current territory and review its location and account terms.
