Disney’s official announcement says the promotion ended at 11:59 p.m. Pacific time on December 1, 2025 (2:59 a.m. Eastern time on December 2). The offer page is available at Disney’s Black Friday announcement.

It was a Disney+ and Hulu bundle, not standalone Hulu
The headline “Hulu Black Friday deal” can be misleading. The product was the Disney+, Hulu Bundle with Ads. A subscriber received both services, with advertising on each. It was not $4.99 for Hulu alone, and it was not a prepaid annual subscription: Disney charged $4.99 monthly for 12 months.
The bundle did not include ESPN, live television, ad-free playback, or unspecified premium add-ons. Sports viewers needed a separate Disney+, Hulu and ESPN product or another ESPN subscription.

Who qualified—and who did not
The published terms targeted new and eligible returning U.S. subscribers who were at least 18. Eligibility was narrower than simply having canceled an account in the past.
- Existing Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, or bundle subscribers were excluded.
- Current annual subscribers were excluded.
- Accounts with a subscription pending cancellation were excluded.
- Customers outside the United States and people under 18 were excluded.
Disney did not establish a universal inactivity period in the surviving announcement. “Returning subscriber” therefore did not guarantee acceptance; Disney’s checkout system determined whether an account qualified.
How much value did $4.99 provide?
Using the advertised regular price of $12.99 per month, 12 months at the promotion cost $59.88 before taxes. Twelve regular monthly payments would have cost $155.88, producing a calculated difference of $96 and an effective discount of about 61.6 percent. Disney described the saving more generally as approximately $95, reflecting rounded promotional language.

The practical value depended on using both services. Someone watching only Hulu was still paying for Disney+ access, while viewers who wanted both received two ad-supported catalogs for one combined monthly charge.

Ads, apps and Hulu access inside Disney+
Advertising was part of the deal on both Disney+ and Hulu. The $4.99 price did not provide the ad-free versions.
Disney now offers a Hulu hub and selected Hulu programming inside Disney+. Its Hulu-through-Disney+ help page says subscribers can use their Hulu-linked MyDisney credentials and browse the Hulu hub from Disney+. This is not a complete merger: additional Hulu content, features and account functions remain in the Hulu app.

For a bundle account, the usual setup was:
- Complete the Disney+ bundle signup with one email address.
- Use the Hulu activation link shown in the Disney+ account.
- Sign in to Hulu with the linked MyDisney credentials.
- Install both apps if a title or feature is unavailable in Disney+.
Disney’s Hulu login guidance covers the linked-account process. Interface labels may change, so older screenshots should be treated as 2025-era examples.
Renewal was the main catch
The $4.99 rate lasted only 12 months. Unless canceled, the subscription automatically renewed at $12.99 per month or whatever regular monthly price Disney was charging at that time. Taxes could apply.

Former customers should inspect the current subscription and billing details instead of assuming the promotional rate remains active. A charge near $12.99 may simply be the post-promotion renewal; a different amount may reflect a later price change or a different plan.

Cancellation, refunds and billing partners
Disney’s current direct-billing cancellation path is:
- Sign in at DisneyPlus.com using a computer or mobile browser.
- Select Profile.
- Select Account.
- Under Subscription, select the Disney+ subscription.
- Select Cancel Subscription.
The cancellation help page says access generally continues until the end of the current subscription term. Canceling mid-cycle did not create a refund or credit for unused partial months under the promotion’s terms.
If a phone company, app store or another partner billed the account, cancellation may have to be completed through that billing partner. Disney distinguishes direct and third-party subscriptions in its third-party subscription guidance.

- Use your Visa Gift Card in the U.S. everywhere Visa debit cards are accepted, including online.
Common problems and what they mean
- The $4.99 offer is gone: expected; the promotion expired after December 1, 2025.
- An existing subscriber cannot see it: current Disney+, Hulu, ESPN and bundle subscribers were excluded.
- A returning subscriber is rejected: only eligible returning accounts qualified.
- A $12.99 charge appears: it may be the automatic post-promotion renewal or a later regular price.
- Hulu is missing from Disney+: only selected Hulu content is available there; use Hulu for the rest.
- Cancellation is unavailable in Disney+: the account may be billed by a third party.
- Viewing contains commercials: advertising was required by the promotional tier.
- Sports are unavailable: ESPN was not part of this offer.
Was it worth it for different viewers?
Good fit
- Households that wanted both Disney+ and Hulu.
- Viewers comfortable with ads.
- New or qualifying returning U.S. subscribers.
- People willing to set a reminder before the 12-month term ended.
Poor fit
- Hulu-only viewers.
- Anyone requiring ad-free playback.
- Sports fans seeking ESPN or live sports.
- Existing Disney+, Hulu, ESPN or bundle subscribers.
- Customers whose billing partner prevented promotional eligibility.
What former deal customers should do now
As of September 30, 2026, no one can newly claim the 2025 promotion. Former customers should sign in to DisneyPlus.com, open Profile > Account, and check the active plan, next billing date and current price. Cancel through Disney or the billing partner if the subscription is no longer useful.
For current alternatives, Disney’s pricing help page captured on August 16, 2026 listed an ad-supported Disney+, Hulu Bundle at $7.99 per month. Prices and plan names can change, so verify checkout before subscribing at DisneyPlus.com. Hulu-only shoppers can compare the live offer at Hulu.com; its dynamic checkout may show account- or campaign-specific pricing.
Disney’s pricing page also listed the Disney+, Hulu, Max bundle at $19.99 per month with ads and $32.99 without ads when captured on August 16, 2026. Sports viewers should review the current Disney+, Hulu and ESPN options through Disney’s bundle signup guidance rather than assuming ESPN is included.
Bottom line
The Hulu Black Friday 2025 deal was real, unusually inexpensive and useful for people who wanted both ad-supported services. It was a limited Disney+ and Hulu bundle—not standalone Hulu—and it expired on December 1, 2025. The important terms were the 12 monthly $4.99 charges, automatic renewal at $12.99 or the then-current rate, advertising on both services, strict eligibility rules and the absence of ESPN.
