Several celebrity deaths are discussed in connection with Sean “Diddy” Combs, but “tied to” can mean very different things: a documented professional or personal relationship, an accusation, or an online theory. The evidence does not establish that Combs caused any of the deaths below. Kim Porter’s death was officially classified as natural; Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. were murdered, but the cited records do not prove Combs arranged either killing.
Which deaths are actually connected to Diddy?
This overview separates a person’s documented connection to Combs from evidence that he was involved in a death. The source types matter: a coroner’s finding, an accusation recalled in reporting, and a theory raised in a documentary are not equivalent evidence.
| Person | Official cause or manner reported | Basis for a claimed connection to Combs | What the cited record establishes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kim Porter | Lobar pneumonia; natural causes, according to the Los Angeles coroner | Former partner and mother of three of Combs’ children; later conspiracy claims | A 2026 New York court decision describes the claims as unproven and records that medical professionals found no evidence of unnatural causes and LAPD reported no suspicion of foul play or criminal involvement. |
| Tupac Shakur | Killed in a Las Vegas drive-by shooting in 1996 | After a 1994 shooting, Shakur accused Combs and Christopher Wallace of knowing about the planned attack; both denied it. | The accusation is documented context, not proof that Combs arranged Shakur’s killing. |
| The Notorious B.I.G. (Christopher Wallace) | Killed in a Los Angeles drive-by shooting in 1997 | Wallace was part of Combs’ Bad Boy orbit; later accounts offer competing theories about the killing. | The cited reporting does not establish Combs’ involvement; he has denied it. |
| Heavy D (Dwight Myers) | Pulmonary embolism, as reported in a documentary discussed in court | Included in a broader theory presented in that documentary | The court record says authorities did not consider his death suspicious. |
| Andre Harrell | Heart failure, as reported in a documentary discussed in court | Included in the same broader documentary theory | The court record says authorities did not consider his death suspicious. |
Al B. Sure! (Albert Brown) belongs in a different category: interviewees in the documentary alleged an attempted killing, not a death. That allegation is not an adjudicated finding.
What happened to Kim Porter?
Porter died in November 2018 at age 47. The Los Angeles coroner reported on January 25, 2019 that the cause was lobar pneumonia and classified the death as natural causes. She was Combs’ former partner and the mother of three of his children; that personal connection is documented, but it does not substantiate claims that he caused her death.

A 2026 New York court decision addressing claims circulated in connection with a documentary says medical professionals found no evidence of unnatural causes. It also records that LAPD reported no suspicion of foul play or criminal involvement. The court record quotes journalist Sharon Lee Carpenter saying there was “Absolutely no proof, no evidence, nothing of the sort” regarding Combs’ involvement, and: “You know, there are a lot of conspiracy theories out there, but no proof.” Those statements are part of the court record; they are not a separate medical finding.
Did Diddy have anything to do with Tupac’s death?
Tupac Shakur was killed in a Las Vegas drive-by shooting in 1996. The documented accusation often cited in theories about Combs predates that killing: after Shakur was shot in New York in 1994, he accused Wallace and Combs of knowing about the planned attack. Both denied the accusation. It is evidence that Shakur made the allegation, not evidence that it was true or that Combs arranged the 1996 murder.

Was Biggie killed because of Diddy?
Christopher Wallace, known as The Notorious B.I.G., was killed in a Los Angeles drive-by shooting in 1997, six months after Shakur’s killing. Wallace’s association with Combs and Bad Boy Records, alongside the East/West label rivalry, is part of the context in which competing theories are discussed. The cited reporting does not establish that Combs caused or arranged Wallace’s death, and Combs has denied involvement.
Why do Heavy D, Andre Harrell and Al B. Sure! appear in these claims?
A documentary discussed in Combs-related defamation litigation presented a broader theory involving these figures. The court record says the documentary reported Heavy D died of a pulmonary embolism and Harrell of heart failure, and that authorities did not consider either death suspicious. It also describes an interviewee allegation of an attempted killing involving Al B. Sure! The existence of a documentary claim or interview allegation does not make it a proven finding.

Do Combs’ federal charges prove a connection to these deaths?
No. The Department of Justice’s September 2024 announcement of the federal indictment listed racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking and transportation for prostitution-related purposes. It did not list a murder charge. The DOJ explicitly described the indictment’s factual claims as allegations, and Combs is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. Those charges should not be treated as evidence that he was responsible for any of the deaths discussed here.
