Amy and Tammy Slaton are still the central stars of TLC’s 1000-lb Sisters. As of September 30, 2026, Amy is married to Brian Lovvorn, raising sons Gage and Glenn, making music and art, and reconsidering approved skin-removal surgery. Tammy has completed skin-removal surgery, volunteers at an animal shelter and is engaged to Andrea. The sisters have repaired parts of their relationship, although their family tensions remain an ongoing part of the series.
Where are Amy and Tammy now?
TLC’s recent season material and retrospective place both sisters in active, continuing storylines rather than presenting either one as retired from television. Their lives have changed in different ways: Amy is balancing marriage, parenting and creative work, while Tammy is adjusting to life after major weight loss and skin-removal surgery, building independence and planning a future with Andrea.

What is Amy Slaton doing now?
She married Brian Lovvorn
Amy’s Halloween wedding to Brian Lovvorn took place after the wedding preparations featured in TLC’s season coverage. The event also brought family members together, giving the sisters an important setting for confronting unresolved problems.
She is raising two sons
Amy’s children are Gage and Glenn. TLC identifies Gage’s birth date as November 10, 2020, and describes Glenn as her second child. Parenting is one reason Amy hesitated over surgery: the proposed procedure would have required her to be away from her children for two weeks in Los Angeles.

She is pursuing music and art
Amy has begun making her own music, including the song “Pounds Hollow,” while continuing to focus on art. These projects give her a life outside the medical and family crises that have often driven the show’s episodes.
What happened to Amy’s skin-removal surgery?
TLC says Amy was approved for skin-removal surgery. In the later retrospective, however, she told Tammy that she was not going to Los Angeles at that point. That is a decision shown in the televised storyline, not evidence that she can never have the operation; the available account establishes a postponement or change of plans rather than a completed procedure.
What is Tammy Slaton doing now?
She had skin-removal surgery
Tammy’s surgery is the clearest recent physical milestone in her story. TLC’s season preview describes the operation as transformative. The coverage does not provide a current post-surgery weight, so older weigh-ins should not be treated as her present measurement.
She is engaged to Andrea
During the Season 9 storyline, Andrea proposed after taking Tammy horseback riding. Tammy said yes. Earlier season material described Tammy planning to move in with Andrea, while the later retrospective confirms the engagement.
She volunteers and is adjusting after surgery
Tammy began volunteering at an animal shelter. TLC also depicts mood changes after surgery, therapy and medication adjustments made in response to her smaller body size. Those details describe the program’s televised account; they are not an independent medical evaluation or a substitute for advice from Tammy’s clinicians.

The figures below are milestones TLC recounted in 2026. They belong to specific points in the show and do not establish either sister’s current weight.
| Point in the televised journey | Amy | Tammy |
|---|---|---|
| Starting weight reported by TLC | 406 pounds | 608 pounds |
| Season 1 finale | 306 pounds, a 100-pound loss | 559 pounds, a 49-pound loss |
| Later family weigh-in | 237 pounds | 303 pounds |
| Historical rehabilitation milestone | Not stated | Lost 115 pounds after 30 days in rehab; later reached 534 pounds, 14 pounds below her surgery goal |
The rehabilitation and surgery-goal numbers are historical show milestones, not a current 2026 update. Weight can change between filmed events, and neither TLC’s cited retrospective nor the season material gives a verified present-day number.
Are Amy and Tammy still on 1000-lb Sisters?
Yes. TLC’s official show page continues to feature the sisters, with clips, behind-the-scenes material and full episodes. TLC announced Season 8 for January 6 at 9/8c in its December 2, 2025 announcement. A September 2026 retrospective promotes a new season premiering September 1 and discusses Season 9 developments, including Tammy’s engagement. Because episode availability changes by territory and schedule, the TLC show page and current schedule are the safest places to check what is streaming now.
How is the sisters’ relationship?
The relationship is improving but not resolved. TLC depicts conflict around Amy’s wedding plans and Tammy’s recovery, followed by reconnection through crafting, double dates and family activities. Amy planned a wider family conversation, and Tammy offered support. Their progress is therefore best understood as ongoing repair rather than a permanent end to disagreements.
