Kreese and Terry Silver are apparently killed in a yacht explosion, although the series never shows their bodies. The five-episode finale event premiered on Netflix on February 13, 2025, completing Season 6’s 15 episodes.
1. The Sekai Taikai resumes after Kwon’s death
The international tournament restarts after the Part 2 brawl that left Cobra Kai fighter Kwon dead. Terry Silver pressures the organizers to continue, knowing a terminal-illness diagnosis reportedly gives him about six months to live. His urgency is personal as well as competitive: he wants one final campaign for Cobra Kai.
2. Cobra Kai returns, and Kreese tries to repair things with Tory
Master Kim-Sun Yung orders Kim Da-Eun and John Kreese to bring Cobra Kai back into the tournament. Kreese is still dealing with the consequences of his merciless coaching and attempts to rebuild his relationship with Tory Nichols. Their reconciliation matters because Tory’s anger and grief had helped drive the season’s most dangerous conflicts.
3. Axel deliberately injures Robby
In the boys’ semifinal, Iron Dragons champion Axel intentionally hurts Robby Keene. Robby’s injury leaves Miyagi-Do with little mathematical chance of winning the overall team competition, even before the final matches are decided.

4. Sam refuses to fight in the final
Sam LaRusso chooses not to compete. Her decision removes Miyagi-Do from the finals and closes the tournament chapter of her rivalry with Tory on her own terms. With Kwon no longer available for Cobra Kai’s boys’ final place, Kreese gives the spot to Miguel Diaz, who is coached by Johnny Lawrence.
5. Tory wins the girls’ championship
Tory defeats Zara Malik of the Iron Dragons to become the Sekai Taikai girls’ champion. The victory gives Tory a competitive triumph after the losses and betrayals that shaped her season, while also putting Cobra Kai back on the tournament’s top level.

6. Miguel wins the boys’ championship
Miguel beats Axel in the boys’ final and claims the title. Johnny’s coaching helps Miguel combine Cobra Kai’s attacking instincts with the discipline and balance he has learned from the wider Miyagi-Do circle.
7. Johnny has to fight for the team title
Cobra Kai and the Iron Dragons finish tied on team points. Under the Sekai Taikai rules, the tie is settled by a sensei tiebreaker: Johnny must fight the Iron Dragons’ Sensei Wolf. The tournament therefore turns the students’ championship into Johnny’s last test as a competitor.

8. Johnny defeats Sensei Wolf
Johnny wins the tiebreaker. Daniel LaRusso stands in his corner wearing a Cobra Kai gi while retaining his Miyagi-Do headband, a visual statement that neither dojo’s identity has to disappear. Co-creator Jon Hurwitz described the victory this way: “These two people with very different philosophies in life can come together as one and win the day.”
The result also completes Johnny’s long-running redemption arc. His decisive win echoes his defeat by Daniel in the 1984 All Valley tournament, but the finale makes the redemption collaborative: Daniel supports him, Johnny applies lessons associated with Miyagi-Do, and both men recognize value in the other’s tradition.

9. Kreese and Silver’s yacht explodes
Kreese confronts Silver to stop him from carrying out a plan that would terrorize Johnny’s family. During their struggle, a fuel tank is knocked over. Kreese lights the spilled fuel with his cigar, and the yacht erupts.
The show does not display either man’s body. Co-creator Hayden Schlossberg said, “We don’t see the bodies afterward,” and that it “looks like they’ve [both] been taken off the table.” Their deaths are therefore strongly implied, not visually confirmed. The wording leaves open the possibility of survival without presenting it as the likely outcome.

10. Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do become one dojo community
After the tournament, Johnny runs Cobra Kai in partnership with Daniel and Miyagi-Do. Their blended class turns the rivalry into a shared Valley karate community rather than declaring one philosophy the permanent winner. The ending keeps their friendship grounded in ordinary life: they cooperate, remain competitive, and still irritate each other.
Where the younger characters end up
- Miguel: He heads to Stanford and accompanies Sam to Okinawa.
- Sam: She leaves the tournament behind and travels with Miguel to Okinawa.
- Eli and Demetri: Both are college-bound.
- Robby and Tory: They pursue influencer work together.
- Chozen and Kim Da-Eun: Chozen visits her in Korea, suggesting romantic potential but not confirming a relationship.
What the finale’s dojo partnership means
The ending is not an objective ruling that one style is morally superior. It presents offensive Cobra Kai training and defensive Miyagi-Do teaching as complementary when their leaders stop treating them as mutually exclusive. Daniel’s willingness to wear the Cobra Kai gi and Johnny’s use of Miyagi-Do lessons make the point through action rather than a new tournament slogan.
The creators have also framed the final fight in classic underdog terms. Josh Heald called it “Rocky IV,” adding, “It’s bloodier, it’s sweatier, it’s more brutal in certain ways.” That intensity gives Johnny a climactic fight, while the shared corner prevents the win from undoing Daniel’s own growth.
How Part 3 fits the complete season
Part 3 is the final five episodes of Season 6, which Netflix released as a three-part, 15-episode season. With the Sekai Taikai settled, Silver apparently gone, and the rival dojos combined, the series closes on continuing relationships instead of another threat that demands a rematch.
