That was the confirmed U.S. first-run event. The announcement also said new episodes would be available on Peacock the following day, making February 15, 2024, the announced next-day streaming date for the season’s episodes at launch.
How the Season 3 release timeline unfolded
Renewal: July 21, 2022
SYFY renewed Resident Alien for a third season before the second half of Season 2. In that announcement, the network described the series as an out-of-this-world comedy and said the show had reached nearly 11 million viewers across all airings. That figure was SYFY’s historical measure of the series at the time, not a Season 3 audience total.

- Brand: Universal Pictures Home Entertainment
- Resident Alien: Season Two [DVD]
Broadcast run: February 14 through April 3, 2024
The season-history listing identifies eight episodes, ending with “Homecoming” on April 3, 2024.
What changed: the reported episode-order reduction
The secondary season-history source Resident Alien Wiki (Fandom) reports that the season was reduced from an original 12-episode order to eight episodes. That detail should be treated as a secondary-source report: the official SYFY renewal and premiere announcements reviewed here confirm Season 3 and its schedule, but do not corroborate the original 12-episode order.
No official reason for the reported reduction is established in the available announcements. Claims that it resulted from strikes, ratings, budgets or a particular creative decision would be speculation.
How to watch Season 3
At the original premiere
- Linear television: SYFY, beginning February 14, 2024.
- Simulcast: USA Network carried the premiere at the same time.
- Streaming cadence announced in 2024: new episodes were scheduled for Peacock the next day.
Later streaming availability
Peacock’s June 2025 viewing guide said Seasons 1–3 were streaming on the service at that time. Catalog availability can change by date and territory, so that dated statement should not be treated as a permanent guarantee.

What happened after Season 3?
In June 2024, SYFY announced a fourth-season renewal and said the series would move to USA Network, with episodes also simulcast on SYFY. SYFY later announced in July 2025 that Season 4 would be the show’s final season. The Season 3 release date is therefore historical rather than an upcoming schedule.
