Short answer: Super Netflix is still listed as a free Chrome extension, but it is an unofficial, apparently old browser add-on—not a dependable Netflix feature. Its Chrome Web Store listing advertises bitrate and quality selection, spoiler blurring, intro skipping, custom subtitles and other playback controls. Because the listing appears years old, current compatibility should be treated as uncertain.
What Super Netflix is
Super Netflix modifies the Netflix website in a desktop Chrome session. It does not change your Netflix subscription, add support to a television or phone app, or guarantee a particular resolution. The Chrome Web Store listing explicitly says the extension is not affiliated with Netflix.
The official listing remains available at the Chrome Web Store, but its apparent age is an important warning. Availability is not the same as active maintenance, and no current version or recent compatibility guarantee can be confirmed from the listing.

Quality selection is not a 4K guarantee
A bitrate field or quality preference is best understood as a request to Netflix’s player. It is not proof that Netflix will deliver a fixed resolution, HDR mode or audio format. Adaptive streaming may switch profiles as bandwidth changes, while account entitlements, title encodes, browser DRM, decoding hardware and regional availability impose their own limits.

Therefore, do not interpret a selected value as guaranteed 1080p or 4K. A separate extension, New Netflix 1080p, is aimed specifically at browser quality and 5.1 audio; it is not a spoiler-blocking replacement.
How to install it safely
- Open the official Super Netflix Chrome Web Store page.
- Check the publisher name, permissions, reviews, update information and stated browser compatibility.
- Select Add to Chrome and read the permissions prompt before confirming.
- Pin the extension only if you want quick access.
- Open Netflix in desktop Chrome, start a title and see whether the controls appear.
- Test one feature at a time, beginning with spoiler masking and then playback controls.
Avoid CRX-download sites, unofficial mirrors and modified installers. If the page requests unrelated software or unusually broad permissions, cancel. Review the current permissions and privacy disclosure yourself; the available listing does not justify claims that all processing is local or that there is no telemetry.

Trying the quality controls
- Start playback on Netflix.
- Open Super Netflix’s player or options panel.
- Look for a control labelled quality, bitrate or similar.
- Choose a lower profile to reduce data use or a higher profile to request better image quality.
- Reload the tab if the current session does not change.
- Check Netflix’s available playback statistics, where present, rather than trusting the selected value alone.
- Disable the extension and compare behavior. This helps distinguish an extension effect from Netflix’s normal adaptive streaming.
The current interface and exact menu labels cannot be confirmed from the old listing, so do not assume a particular field or numeric bitrate will be present.

- Open the extension’s options or Netflix control panel.
- Enable the spoiler-protection or spoiler-blurring setting.
- Return to Netflix and refresh browse, title and episode-selection pages.
- Disable it temporarily if useful descriptions or navigation elements are obscured.
This is a presentation filter, not comprehensive spoiler removal. It cannot hide dialogue, subtitles, trailers, every thumbnail, recommendation labels or content loaded after a page redesign. It also does nothing in unsupported Netflix apps or when the filter is disabled.

When it stops working
Netflix frequently changes its page structure and playback implementation. An old extension can therefore fail without any mistake in your settings. Netflix Extended’s listing, for example, warns that Netflix updates can make browser modifications stop working or misbehave—a general limitation of this category.
- Reload Netflix and restart playback.
- Disable Super Netflix and compare login, playback, subtitles and DRM behavior.
- Temporarily disable other Netflix, subtitle, privacy, ad-blocking or user-agent extensions.
- Try one title in a clean Chrome profile.
- If it works only in the clean profile, re-enable extensions one at a time to find the conflict.
- Remove Super Netflix if it causes persistent playback, login or DRM problems.
The extension should be assumed to affect only the supported desktop browser session—not Netflix’s Android or iOS apps, smart TVs, consoles, Chromecast, Apple TV or another browser unless that browser is explicitly supported.

Alternatives by need
- Netflix Extended [QVI]: a different extension for navigation, skip controls, spoiler-description hiding and other Netflix conveniences, with listings for Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Opera. It is not primarily a bitrate tool. View its Chrome listing.
- New Netflix 1080p: focused on browser playback quality, codecs, 1080p, 5.1 audio and statistics. Its public GitHub repository lets you inspect issues and code, but is not a security certification.
- Substital: a subtitle-focused tool that supports Netflix and other services. View its Chrome listing.
Who should try Super Netflix?
It is reasonable as a cautious experiment for a desktop Chrome viewer who specifically wants the old combination of spoiler masking and playback tweaks, accepts that the extension is unofficial and apparently lightly maintained, and is prepared to remove it after a Netflix or Chrome update.
Skip it if you mainly watch on a TV, console or mobile app; need guaranteed 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision or 5.1 output; cannot accept webpage permissions; require an actively maintained product; or expect Netflix support to troubleshoot a third-party add-on. No claim about Netflix detecting or penalizing browser modifications can be established from the listing, so use it at your own risk.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Super Netflix still exists as a Chrome Web Store listing, and its advertised quality and spoiler controls may be useful for some desktop viewers. Treat every feature as a legacy, unverified capability: install only from the official store, test it against Netflix with other extensions disabled, and do not mistake a bitrate request for guaranteed resolution or complete spoiler protection.
