Amazon announced its October 2022 Luna lineup on September 29, 2022. The additions were split across Luna+, the Family Channel and Prime Gaming: two games for Luna+, one for the Family Channel and six included with an active Prime membership through Prime Gaming. The announcement did not give individual release dates for every title.

The channel assignments and lineup were reported by Thurrott on September 29, 2022. Its October announcement was distinct from the September additions it mentioned for context, including The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero, Potion Permit, Freshly Frosted, Youtubers Life, Baseball Stars 2 and Metal Slug X.
What the Luna+ and Family Channel additions required
Luna+
Paint it RED! and Martha Is Dead were announced for Luna+. They were catalog additions under that channel, not games described as individual purchases. In September 2022, Thurrott reported Luna+ at $9.99 per month and described its catalog as containing more than 120 games. Those are historical figures, not current prices or a current catalog count.

Family Channel
Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? was assigned to Luna’s separate Family Channel, which focused on family-oriented games. Thurrott listed that channel at $5.99 per month in September 2022; that price also describes the service at the time, not a current offer.

Prime Gaming titles were included with Prime
The six Prime Gaming selections were SkateBIRD, Earthworm Jim 2, Star Wars Pinball, Monster Truck Championship, Metro Exodus and Blair Witch. The 2022 coverage described them as available at no additional charge to Prime members through the Prime Gaming channel. That meant access was tied to an active Amazon Prime membership; it did not mean the games were free to every Luna user or permanently owned.
In Luna’s channel-based model, Prime Gaming was separate from Luna+. Amazon’s launch-era description likewise presented Luna as a service organized around distinct channels and subscriptions, with a rotating Prime selection (Amazon’s Luna launch overview). The Prime lineup was smaller and rotated, while Luna+ offered a broader paid catalog. The Family Channel served a narrower family-oriented purpose.

Historical access and streaming details
Thurrott’s September 2022 coverage listed Luna access on PC, Mac, Fire TV, Fire tablets, Chromebook, select Samsung smart TVs and the web. It reported streaming up to 1080p at 60 frames per second. Treat that as a historical compatibility and specification snapshot, not a guarantee about current devices or performance. Cloud gaming avoided the need for a dedicated console or gaming PC, but still depended on a compatible device and a reliable internet connection.
The same report listed the Retro Channel at $4.99 per month in September 2022, although none of the October titles in the announcement was assigned to that channel. Regional availability and catalog rights could differ, and the announcement did not establish exact October release dates for each listed game.

Why the announcement is historical, not a current Luna guide
Amazon redesigned Luna in 2025, emphasizing games included with Prime and adding GameNight, which uses smartphones as controllers for living-room multiplayer. Amazon described the redesigned service as including more than 50 games for Prime members, alongside GameNight titles and a paid Premium tier (Amazon Game Studios’ announcement of the redesigned Luna).
Amazon’s policy change took effect on April 10, 2026: Luna stopped offering game stores, individual game purchases and third-party subscriptions. Amazon’s support notice said previously affected purchased titles were scheduled to stop being playable after June 10, 2026 (Amazon Luna support: changes to third-party stores and subscriptions). The old channel names, prices, device list and October 2022 catalog therefore should not be treated as a description of Luna today. Check Amazon’s Luna games portal for current service information.
