My Supermix is YouTube Music’s broad, personalized listening mix—not a literal playlist made by joining every other mix together. YouTube announced it on November 9, 2020, as part of a wider rollout of personalized playlists. The name still appears in Google’s documentation, but its location and availability can vary across accounts, regions, app versions, and devices.
What My Supermix does
YouTube described My Supermix as an all-purpose mix that brings a listener’s music tastes together. It sits alongside more focused recommendations and playlists, making it useful when you want to press play without choosing an artist, genre, or mood. The phrase “mix of your mixes” is a shorthand for that broad role; the available documentation does not say that YouTube simply copies and concatenates the tracks from every My Mix playlist.

- My Supermix: A broad mix based on your overall tastes.
- My Mix playlists: More focused personalized mixes built from different combinations of artists, genres, or listening patterns.
- Activity or mood mixes: Recommendations aimed at a context such as exercise or relaxing. Workout, Focus, Relax, and Commute were among the categories in the original rollout; that list is not a guarantee of what every account shows today.
- Custom mixes: Mixes you shape yourself by selecting artists and, where the controls are available, tuning variety and discovery.
A manual playlist is different again: it is a track list you curate, rather than a personalized recommendation mix.

Why the name appeared in 2020
YouTube announced the feature on November 9, 2020, under the name My Supermix; it had previously been called Your Mix. The announcement introduced it alongside up to seven distinct My Mix playlists and an activity bar of personalized mixes. “Up to seven” described that rollout, not a promise that every listener would receive exactly seven playlists.
YouTube’s original announcement framed Supermix as a way to bring a listener’s tastes together in one eclectic listening experience. It is a product feature with a 2020 launch date, not a new 2026 announcement.

How to find it now
Start in the YouTube Music mobile app:
- Open Home and look through personalized recommendations. Depending on the interface, mixes may appear in a section such as Mixed for you.
- If you do not see it, use search and look for My Supermix.
- Check your channel page: tap your profile picture, choose Your Channel, and look for your personal mix or listening information.
- If it is missing or will not load, update YouTube Music, close and reopen the app, and restart your device.
Google’s current help material documents personalized recommendations on Home and the personal mix on the channel page, but it does not guarantee a Supermix tile in the same place for every listener. The name remains in Google’s documentation for Sony headphone integrations, including quick access and scene-based listening. That does not mean every device integration offers the same controls. A mix available in the phone app may not appear in a car interface or another connected device.

What influences recommendations
YouTube says music recommendations can reflect listening in YouTube Music and music videos watched across YouTube. Listening history and other recommendation signals also inform the experience. Google says the personal mix refreshes daily, and that history changes can affect personal-mix-related statistics. That daily refresh statement applies to the documented personal mix; Google’s public help pages do not provide a complete formula or establish that every Supermix version follows an identical schedule.

Google does not publish a full Supermix selection formula, including how it weighs individual signals, handles repetition, or chooses an exact track count. If your listening is narrow or concentrated on a few artists, recommendations may feel repetitive. Listening to more of the music you want reflected can broaden the signals available to the service, though it cannot guarantee a particular result.
History and privacy settings matter too. If you pause, delete, or limit relevant history, personalization may change. Google notes that watch-history changes can affect personal-mix information; it does not say that every YouTube interaction has equal influence. Choose a mix to match how much control you want
Supermix is suited to broad, hands-off listening. If you want to set clearer boundaries, YouTube Music’s custom-mix tools may be a better fit. Google documents a mobile creation path of Library → New → Mix. Depending on the mix and interface, controls can include artist variety, music discovery, BPM, popularity, and mood; the mix page may also offer Tune and queue adjustments through Up Next. These are custom-mix controls, not a promise that you can apply the same settings to My Supermix. See Google’s custom-mix instructions.
Other options may fit better when you have a specific goal: choose an activity or mood mix for context, an artist or song radio for a narrower direction, or a manual playlist when you want a fixed, repeatable sequence.

If My Supermix is missing
Work through these checks before assuming the feature has been removed:
- Look in more than one place. Check Home, personalized-mix areas, search, and Your Channel. Interface labels and placement can change.
- Check the platform. A feature may be visible on mobile but absent from Android Auto, a web view, headphones, or another integration. A 2026 YouTube Music community post reports a user finding Supermix missing from Android Auto; it is an individual report, not confirmation of a platform-wide change. Read the report.
- Check the account and history. A new or lightly used account may have fewer personalized recommendations. Review whether relevant listening or watch history is paused or limited.
- Update and restart. Install the latest app version, then close and reopen the app or restart the device. Google lists these among its basic troubleshooting steps.
- Allow for regional or account differences. Google says some YouTube Music experiences differ by country or region, and supervised accounts can have feature limitations. Availability and layout should not be assumed to be identical for everyone.
If it remains unavailable, use the app’s feedback option. Troubleshooting can resolve loading or app-version problems, but it cannot guarantee that a particular playlist label will be offered on every account or device.
Does it require Premium?
The available Google documentation does not establish that My Supermix is universally restricted to paid users. YouTube Music Premium benefits include features such as ad-free listening, background play, and downloads, but feature availability and eligibility can vary by region and product. Do not treat a missing Supermix as proof that you need Premium. Check the current Premium benefits and eligibility details for your location.
