Short answer: Eurosport is not one worldwide streaming service. Its channels, apps, sports rights and subscription options depend on your country and the event you want to watch. Eurosport Premium ended on July 22, 2024, so older advice about buying Eurosport Player or Eurosport Premium is out of date.
Viewers in the United States should check the official US broadcaster for the specific event. Existing subscribers may be able to watch while traveling, but only under the relevant service’s territory and travel rules. A VPN is not a guaranteed solution and may trigger location blocking or conflict with service terms.
What “Eurosport” means in 2026
Eurosport may refer to television channels, the Eurosport website and app, a former standalone digital subscription, or sports content distributed through services such as discovery+, Max, HBO Max, TNT Sports and local pay-TV partners.
These are not interchangeable worldwide products. Before subscribing, identify:

- Where you will physically watch;
- The exact sport and event;
- Whether you need live coverage, replays, highlights or news;
- Whether you need every court, field, camera or secondary feed;
- Your preferred commentary language.
Rights are territory-specific and can change because of agreements with rights holders, legal restrictions and local broadcasting arrangements. Eurosport’s terms expressly allow content availability to change for these reasons.
Can you subscribe to Eurosport in the USA?
For viewers in the United States, Eurosport is generally not a universal direct-subscription option. The US often has different rights holders for events that Eurosport carries in Europe. Do not assume that a European Eurosport subscription—or the US edition of discovery+—provides the same sports catalogue.
The official US discovery+ plan page describes US entertainment plans. Its listed prices, seen in August 2026, were $5.99 per month with limited ads and $9.99 per month ad-free, excluding applicable taxes. Those prices should not be treated as the price of European Eurosport sports access.

For a US resident, the dependable approach is to find the official US rights holder for the particular event. The answer may differ between cycling, tennis, winter sports, motorsport and the Olympics.
The fastest way to find the legal US broadcaster
- Identify the event. Search for the named competition—not simply “Eurosport.” For example, distinguish the Tour de France from the Giro d’Italia, or Roland-Garros from the US Open.
- Visit the event organizer’s official website. Look for “Where to watch,” “Broadcast partners,” “TV and streaming,” or “Watch live.”
- Confirm the US rights holder. Check whether it offers full live coverage, a television broadcast, a streaming-only feed, or only highlights.
- Verify the package. Confirm live access, replays, blackout rules, supported devices, commentary language and current cancellation terms.
A listing for the main broadcast does not necessarily include every match, court, race feed or replay. Look for specific wording such as “every match,” “every court,” “multiple live feeds,” “full event coverage” and “on-demand archive.”

Eurosport country and branding changes
Eurosport is not branded or distributed identically throughout Europe. According to the official Eurosport country update:

A branding change does not automatically mean identical pricing, commentary, apps, sports rights or subscription terms. Warner Bros. Discovery’s US TNT Sports portfolio also does not establish that US viewers can buy European Eurosport programming.
What happened to Eurosport Premium?
The standalone Eurosport Premium subscription ended on July 22, 2024. The Eurosport website and app continue to provide sports news, articles, clips and schedules, but premium live sports must be accessed through the relevant local provider or participating Warner Bros. Discovery service.
Therefore, instructions telling you to purchase “Eurosport Player” or “Eurosport Premium” are obsolete. Start with the current broadcaster in the country where you will watch.
Watching an existing subscription while traveling
US or Canadian discovery+ subscribers traveling in North America
Official discovery+ guidance says subscribers from the US or Canada can stream while traveling within North America, including the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, American Samoa, Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands. Content and features may still vary by country. See the discovery+ travel guidance before departure.

Traveling outside North America
The same guidance says subscribers traveling outside North America need a separate discovery+ subscription in the destination country, where available. The help page lists markets including Austria, Canada, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy and the United Kingdom. Because availability can change, check the destination-country help page rather than relying on an old list.

Under the EEA terms, an EEA resident may access the content normally available under their subscription while temporarily visiting another EEA country at no additional cost, subject to residence verification and other conditions.
This is portability for temporary travel—not permission to relocate permanently or sign up from a country where the service is unavailable. Even during an eligible trip, an event may be restricted by local rights.
Max subscribers traveling
Max’s travel guidance says streaming is possible when traveling to a country or region where Max is available, but the catalogue changes according to physical location. Some items in Continue Watching or My List may not play abroad. Downloads can be played while traveling, including in countries where Max is unavailable.

- Eurosport: A sports brand with country-specific channels, websites, apps and rights.
- TNT Sports: The consolidated brand in the UK and Ireland and a brand used in other markets; it is not automatically the US equivalent of European Eurosport.
- discovery+: A country-specific streaming service. A US subscription should not be assumed to include Europe’s Eurosport sports catalogue.
- Max or HBO Max: In some European countries, a relevant local sports package may distribute Warner Bros. Discovery rights. The US and European catalogues and add-ons are not necessarily the same.
Check the exact country, plan and event before paying. An app appearing in an app store proves neither that the live event is available nor that your existing account can use it there.
Setting up the service on a TV or mobile device
For a direct discovery+ subscription, sign up on the official website or in the app where in-app subscriptions are offered. On a computer, sign in at discoveryplus.com/login. Many supported TV devices use a QR code or six-digit activation code.
After activation, you should see your profile, the relevant live channel or event tile, a Watch or Play control, and replay options when your plan includes them. The supported-device list should be checked before buying hardware.

If you purchased through Amazon Prime Video Channels, Roku, DIRECTV, DISH or Sling, use the partner’s app. A third-party subscription may not be recognized by the standalone discovery+ app. See discovery+’s partner-subscription instructions.

If the six-digit TV code fails
- Open a private or incognito browser window.
- Go to discoveryplus.com/signin.
- Enter the code again.
- Try Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Safari.
- Choose direct email sign-in on the TV if available.
- If you subscribed through a partner, switch to that partner’s app.
Downloads and offline viewing
According to the official discovery+ download guidance, offline downloads require the ad-free plan and a supported mobile device. Not every title is downloadable, and the page states that up to 100 titles may be downloaded at one time.
Do not assume that a live sports event can be downloaded. Check the download icon on the specific replay and confirm that it remains playable during your trip. Entertainment downloads, sports replays and live feeds can have different rules.
Why an event may be missing
If you have a subscription but cannot find an event, the likely causes are:

- Rights moved to TNT Sports or another partner;
- The event is television-only rather than available in the app;
- You are traveling in a country with different rights;
- The listing is for highlights, not live coverage;
- Your plan lacks the required tier;
- You bought through a third-party platform and must use its app;
- The rights expired or the device is unsupported.
Check your physical location, account country, plan, billing status, device software and the official event schedule. Rights restrictions can apply even when the app itself opens normally.
Should you use a VPN?
A VPN is not a dependable way to obtain Eurosport from the United States or to bypass a country restriction. Streaming services can detect and block VPNs, proxies and anonymization tools; payment-country checks, app-store restrictions, residence verification and subscription terms can still prevent access.
If you receive a regional error while legitimately traveling, disable the VPN, proxy or similar privacy relay first. Max specifically lists these tools as possible causes of regional-access errors. Use the official local broadcaster whenever possible, and do not treat a VPN as proof that a foreign subscription is available or permitted for your circumstances.
How to watch the 2026 Winter Olympics
The Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics require separate treatment. The IOC awarded Warner Bros. Discovery and the European Broadcasting Union European media rights for the 2026–2032 Olympic Games. Warner Bros. Discovery described its services as the exclusive streaming home for every moment of the Games in Europe, while EBU members provide broad free-to-air coverage. In Europe, coverage may be presented through Eurosport, TNT Sports, HBO Max or discovery+, depending on the territory. That does not make European Eurosport the US Olympic streaming service. US viewers must use the US Olympic rights holders and their current event schedule.

Before subscribing: a practical checklist
- Set your decision around the country where you will physically watch.
- Search for the exact event and distinguish live coverage from highlights.
- Confirm the service is sold in that territory.
- Check billing-address and payment-method requirements.
- Verify commentary language and the number of feeds.
- Read renewal and cancellation terms.
- Test the service on your intended device before the event starts.
- Sign in before traveling.
- Download permitted content in advance where supported.
- Keep a second official broadcaster in mind for an important final or Olympic event.
