How to Watch the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards: Channel, Livestream — current answer
The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards aired in the United States on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time and 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time on CBS and MTV, with a live Paramount+ stream. The ceremony is no longer upcoming; viewers looking for it now should use the official CBS replay listing or MTV’s Paramount+ viewing route.
How can you watch the 2025 VMAs now?
The clearest current replay option is the official CBS VMA program page, which identifies the ceremony as Season 2025, Episode 1, dated September 7, 2025, and marked “Now Streaming.” The listing does not establish that the episode is free for every visitor or that availability is identical in every location.
MTV’s official 2025 VMA event page currently offers a “Watch Now on Paramount+” route. Paramount+ was also the official U.S. livestream platform for the original broadcast. Because streaming catalogs, regional rights, and plan rules can change, check the current access terms shown by CBS or Paramount+ before assuming that a replay is included with a particular account.

What channel aired the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards?
The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards aired on CBS in the United States and were simulcast on MTV. The 2025 ceremony was the first VMA broadcast presented on CBS, according to the official CBS announcement.
The ceremony took place at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York. The scheduled broadcast window was 8:00–11:00 p.m. Eastern Time, or 5:00–8:00 p.m. Pacific Time, and LL COOL J hosted the event, according to Paramount Press Express’s 2025 broadcast announcement.
Was there a livestream for the 2025 VMAs?
Yes. Paramount+ carried the live U.S. stream of the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards alongside the CBS broadcast and MTV simulcast. Paramount+’s pre-event viewing guide stated that the live stream required the Premium plan at that time. That was a live-event condition published before the ceremony and should not automatically be treated as the current requirement for replay viewing.
For a replay, start with the current CBS listing and the Paramount+ route linked from MTV. Avoid relying on an old live-TV bundle, free-trial report, or historical plan description unless the provider currently confirms that the 2025 ceremony is included.
Can you watch the VMAs with an antenna?
You may be able to watch the CBS broadcast with an antenna if your home receives a participating local CBS affiliate over the air. The FCC explains that indoor and outdoor antennas can receive free over-the-air broadcast television, but reception depends on location, buildings, terrain, antenna placement, and local signal conditions.

- Enjoy More Tv antenna for Local Channels: Get more channels by antenna for smart TV, receive local broadcasting, ABC, CBS, NBC, CPS, FOX, CW, ION, UMAS, etc.
- HD Antenna for TV: Our digital TV antenna indoor adopts an upgraded Smart IC Chip, receives TV broadcasts including 4K, UHD and 1080 HDTV for the hd picture.
- 16FT Coax Cable: Coaxial cable is composed of a solid center conductor, dielectric insulation, three aluminum shielding layers, and a durable outer layer. so that you will never lose signal or suffer distortion even in bad weather.
- Compatibility and Usage Tips: Not suitable for older analog televisions; supports smart TVs and digital TVs. For optimal signal reception, try placing the antenna near a window or in other locations, and test both vertical and horizontal orientations.
- Easy to Install: Plug the coaxial cable from your digital indoor HDTV antenna into the ANT/IN connector on the back of your TV, point the TV antenna toward your local TV tower and scan for channels. (Check "dtv gov maps" for available channels).
An indoor TV antenna is a reasonable option for viewers who want local broadcast channels without cable or satellite, but an antenna is not guaranteed to receive CBS in every market. Check the FCC’s digital TV reception maps and confirm that a local CBS station serves your address before buying equipment.
Homes with weak indoor reception may need an outdoor antenna, clearer placement, or professional installation. Outdoor equipment can improve reception in some locations, but the result still depends on the local station signal and the home’s surroundings.
How can viewers outside the United States watch the 2025 VMAs?
There is no complete country-by-country international rights list established by the official sources reviewed for this article. International viewers should check their local MTV broadcaster, the Paramount+ catalog available in their country, or another regional rights holder rather than assuming that the U.S. CBS or Paramount+ arrangement applies everywhere.
